Lawrence J. Cataldo

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, for Lawrence J. Cataldo, who passed unexpectedly on Saturday, March 4th in East Boston. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, March 13th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Lawrence J. Cataldo, age 86, of East Boston, retired Manager for Intercontinental Airfreight Warehouse, at Logan Airport, where he served for many years, died unexpectedly on Saturday March 4, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan M. (Gosselin) Cataldo. He was born in Boston on June 30, 1930, the son of the late Albert and Dorothy (O’Toole) Cataldo. He was raised and educated in East Boston. During the Korean Conflict, he served with the United States Army. He was an avid golfer, and spent many weekends at Cedar Glen Golf Course in Saugus.

He was the devoted father of Cynthia J. Roberts of Winthrop and Karen M. Harvey and her husband James of Chelmsford; cherished grandfather of Caitlin Roberts, Kristen Conlon, Timothy Roberts, Kara Conlon, Daniel Roberts and James Harvey, Jr.: loving brother of Barbara Cataldo of East Boston, Albert P. Cataldo and his wife Frankie of PA and John “Jack” Cataldo and his wife Beverly of NH, and the late Eugene and Dorothy Cataldo; also survived by several dear nieces and nephews.

Monday, March 13th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere

    I worked with Larry for over 20 years, we became like family
    he loved his wife Joan and daughters, and always talked about
    them, I spoke to him a few weeks ago, and he was very upbeat
    even though he had been thru a lot of health problems ,I will
    miss him , but I know that he is happy again, now that he is
    with Joan,

Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
