Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, July 8th, in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere for Lena I. (Falzarano) Buttiglieri, who died Tuesday, July 2nd at Hathorne Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Danvers, Following a long Illness.  Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.  in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of padua Church, Revere at 12 noon, followed by interment in Puritan lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody.  Born in Boston, she was a native of Chelsea, attending school in Chelsea and living there until moving to Revere, briefly and then in 1955 moving to Beverly. Most of her life was spent as a devoted spouse and mother.   She was an accomplished seamstress and worked in that industry throughout her working career.  She was the wife of the late, Frank R. Buttiglieri, Jr., who died January of 1982.  She is the cherished mother of, Theresa M. Buttiglieri of Beverly and Frank R. Buttiglieri , III and his wife Patricia of Beverly Farms.  She is the dear sister of Joanne Dobson of Oakland, CA, Regina Falzarano of West Peabody and the Late Frank B. “Gypsy Joe” Falzarano, Louise Faretra,  Rose Ciampolillo, and Marie “Chickie” Faretra.  She is also lovingly survived by her grandchildren, Deborah Lennon and her husband Patrick of Feeding Hills, MA and Frank R. Buttiglieri, IV of Beverly Farms.  Also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.  The Falzarano family of Chelsea are best remembered, associated with “Rita’s Flower SHoppe” of Broadway, Chelsea for over 50 years.  Lena’s mother, Rita (Terino) Falzarano was the founder and designer.  Rita’s only son, the late Frank B. “Gypsy Joe” Falzarano and his wife late wife Phyllis, took over the business and continued until the early1990’s.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be mad to: St. Jude’s Children’s Resaerch Hopsital, P.O. On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
