Linda M. (Barone) Fogarty

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Wednesday, June 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the Vertuccio and Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt.107) REVERE for Linda M. (Barone) Fogarty, who died unexpectedly at her home in Melrose on Thursday, June 10th. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton.

Linda was born & raised in East Boston. She was an alumna of East Boston High School, Class of 1973. She worked at the Registry of Motor Vehicles for about 10 years, while raising her two children. Linda met and then married her husband William J. Fogarty, in 1997 and she began to help run his business Fogarty Messenger Service. After Bill’s passing, Linda continued the business until her untimely death. Linda was an absolute people person, the presence of her warm beautiful smile always lit up a room. Her contagious laugh stayed with you. She was a woman who loved life and her family above all. When she conducted her business, she made people feel warm & showed her appreciation for them. She very often would bring treats & gifts, not just at the holidays but throughout the year. She would want to genuinely know how you were doing and treated you like a member of her family. Linda loved keeping up with current events, politics & world news. She was also a woman of great faith in God. Besides her children, she adored, loved & doted on her grandchildren. She became the family matriarch for a very short time, losing her mother, Lillian Barone, on March 21, 2021. Her personality, kind heart, beautiful face & infectious laugh will live on forever with those who knew & loved her.

She is the devoted wife of 17 years to the late William J. Fogarty. Beloved daughter of the late Henry F. “Rico” & Lillian J. (Garisto) Barone. Loving & proud mother of Dale R. Cibene & wife Alison & Danielle M. Harvey & husband Christopher, all of Melrose. Treasured Nanni of Ella, Izzy, Will, & Luke. Dear sister of Michael L. Barone & wife Ann of Methuen. Cherished aunt of Michael A. Barone of Salem & Lisa A. Barone of Methuen. She is also lovingly survived by Christopher, Kayla & Madigan Harvey, several aunts, many cousins, and many friends & colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.

To all of cousin Linda’s family members. Too many to mention, from her her children and daughter in law and son in law and his children to her grandchildren, her brother and Ann, her niece and nephew, numerous cousins and Aunts. There are no words to express the sadness and disbelief that we are all feeling. Linda was loved by all who knew her. To really know her was to love her. She was a kind soul and always there to help her family in any way she could. My heart hurts along with you all and I know she is at peace with Auntie Lill and Uncle Rico and hope you can all find some comfort. Until we meet again my cousin . I have loved you my entire life and always will. We have shared so many laughs and good times together over the years. Rest In Peace as I know you are. Love you more than you will ever know. Just saying.

Just can’t believe that Linda is gone. Her quick smile and comments about her well studied opinions on politics are two things I will remember most about her. We could always count on Linda’s knowledge and help at the Ira dealerships for the 20 years I knew her. I hope you are enjoying a split of champagne up there with Bill and your Mum, Linda.

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
