Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, May 25th from  5 to 8 p.m., in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Lorraine M. (Fallon) Bowman who died following a long illness on Wednesday, May 23rd at the Kaplan Family Hospice of Danvers.  A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, May 26th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, (corner of Beach St. and Winthrop Ave.), Revere at 10:30 a.m.. Born & raised in Chelsea, MA she was a 1946 alumna of Chelsea High School.  Lorraine married Joseph J. Bowman, Sr. in 1951 and moved to Revere in 1954 where they raised four children.  In 2000, they moved to Stoneham, MA.  She was active within Immaculate Conception Parish Community & was past President of the Immaculata Guild.  She is the beloved wife of 61 years to: Retired Revere Fire Captain Joseph J. Bowman. Sr., she is the devoted mother of: Jorraine M. Spelman & her husband Philip of Stoneham, MA, Joseph J. Bowman, Jr & his wife Karen of Brecksville, OH, Lisa M. Carlson & her husband James of Saugus, MA and Christine B. Emond & her husband Douglas of Marblehead, MA.  She is the dear sister of Patricia Colburne of Wakefield, MA  and the late Marcella Edgett, Ernestine Page & Chelsea Patrolman Joseph E. Fallon.  She is also lovingly survived by 9 grandchildren , 2 great grand children 2 sisters in-law, Dorothy Bowman of Melrose, MA & Concetta “Connie” Fallon of Everett, MA  and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.  In lieu of flowers: remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
