Magda B. (Steffens) Hanlon
Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, February 26th at 1:30 p.m. in the Holy Cross Community Mausoleum Chapel, Broadway, Malden, for Magda B.(Steffens) Hanlon, who passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 17th at Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett. Visiting hours respectfully omitted.
Born & raised in Bremerhaven, Germany, she came to reside in Revere in 1970. She worked for many years as a Nurse’s aide at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, establishing many treasured friendships. Magda met her late husband, Laurence J. Hanlon in Germany, during the Korean Conflict. They remained in Germany for several years, giving birth to their first son, Harold before settling in the USA. Her husband died suddenly in May of 1984.
She is the devoted mother of Harold H. Hanlon of Maine, Donald L. Hanlon of Revere & the
late, Ronald S. Hanlon who passed May 31, 2002. She is the cherished sister to Herma Bulkowski & her husband, Benno of Berlin, Germany & the late Otto Steffens. She is also the dear aunt of, Frank Bulkowski & Britta Metzig and Michael Steffens, all of Germany. At age 70, Magda, began a new working career, as a hair stylist, working until she was in her late seventies.
I’m so sorry for the loss of Magda. She was a hot ticket, fiesty but fun loving. Always cracking a joke even up to her last hours. May we all have great memories of her and may she live in our hearts forever.
GOD Bless
