It is with sadness that I live so far away from Revere that I cannot attend the services for Marguerite Rizzo.
Her name jumped off the page at me from the Revere Journal this morning. In the 1940s, she lived next door to my family at 15 Washington Square in Beachmont. In fact, our backyards converged, and were added to by the Kelly family property, a triangle. Our doors were always open to her, and she had no need to knock.
I’m certain I speak for all the families who lived on Washington Square back then — the Kelly family, and the Bernazarni family, the Cole family and the Hickey family in expressing warm memories of those days, mixed with mourning at the thought of Marguerite no longer being with us.
We loved you immensely, Auntie M!!! You were there for us, even though you took Revere street, instead of going “tru da mahsh”. May your kindness and love shine on!
Marguerite was considered an Aunt to me,she would always say hi to me when I was working at the golf course. She was a great lady and me and my family will miss her dearly.Rest in Peace Marguarite
We were sorry to hear about the passing of your Aunt Marguerite, we know she was special to Bob and he cared for her dearly.
May she rest in peace.
I’ll miss you Aunty M. Not only were you my godmother, but a bonus grandmother as well. I am beyond grateful that you were able to know little Anderson. I love you and will think of you often.
