Marianne E. DeModena

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, May 23rd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals,  773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE for Marianne E. DeModena, who lost her courageous battle with metastatic cancer disease, on Sunday, May 19th at the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, May 24th at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Church of St. John The Evangelist, 320 Winthrop St., WINTHROP at 11:30 a.m. and
immediately followed with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born in Stoneham, Marianne was a lifelong resident of East Boston and the Orient Heights Section of the city. A single parent, she raised & educated her boy and girl with joy and full success and perfection. She was a proud graduate of Arlington Catholic High School of  Arlington, Class of 1998 and latter would continue her studies at Boston University. Marianne was a Concierge for the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston for over fourteen years and also maintained a position with the UFC Gym in Boston as a Certified Fitness Instructor. Marianne had a passion for physical fitness and continued her classes and working out while in “Hospice Care”, up to two (2) weeks prior to her passing. Her unrelenting courage was an inspiration to many. Her outstanding, serene and most attractive good looks were matched with her larger than life personality and gentleness with which she presented herself.

She is the adored mother of Christian A. DeGuglielmo & Olivia E. DeGuglielmo of Orient Heights, East Boston. Cherished daughter of Gerard L. & Dawn E. (King) DeModena of OHEB. Beloved partner to John R. McKinnon of OHEB. Dear sister of G. Christopher DeModena & his wife Nichole E. of Mont Vernon, NH. Also lovingly survived by her paternal grandmother Anna DeModena of East Boston & the late Leonard O. DeModena, Marianne was also the granddaughter to the late Elmer A. King & Helen E. (Smith) King. Many aunts, uncles & cousins also proudly survive her.

Friday, May 24th at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Winthrop

Interment

Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
