Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, September 26th, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Mary A. (Procopio) Alvino, who died on Monday, September 23rd at her Revere home following a long illness, at 92  years.  Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, September 27th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere, at 10 a.m.  Born & raised in Revere, she attended Revere schools.  Mary was, indeed, a devoted homemaker, housewife, mother, grandmother, sister, & aunt.  Her first priority was to her family & the maintenance of her gracious & beautiful home.  She is the beloved wife of 65 years to Robert A. Alvino.  She is the cherished mother of Anthony M. Alvino & his wife Carol of Danvers, & Robert A. Alvino, Jr. of Revere.  She is the adored grandmother to: Anthony J. “TJ” Alvino & his wife Kristi of Cary, North Carolina, Paula M. Potvin & her husband Benjamin, & Michelle C. L’Italien & her husband Peter, all of Salem, MA.  She is the dear sister of Pauline Terranova & her husband William of Revere, Gloria Torre & Marvie Procopio both of Revere, Albert Procopio of Medford, Andrew J. Procopio, Jr. & his wife Marie of Revere, & the late: Jean R. Angelone, Anthony, Joseph, Dominick, & John Procopio.  She is also lovingly survived by her four great-grandchildren, Molly, Gracelyn, Brent, & Jack, & many faithful nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.  Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
