Dorothy M. Tillinghast

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Tuesday, June 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Dorothy M. (Arsenault) Tillinghast, who passed away on June 8th at 96 years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), followed by interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Dorothy graduated from St. Rose Catholic School in Chelsea, and immediately went to work for the President at Chelsea Clock. She left there after becoming a wife and mother. She enjoyed ceramics, loved to travel and was on a bowling league. Dorothy enjoyed and looked forward to a weekly card game with five of her childhood friends spanning over 65 years.

She is the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Tillinghast. Devoted mother of Kenneth Tillinghast and his wife Deborah, Russell Tillinghast and his wife Rose, Michael Tillinghast and his life companion Barbara Dillon, and Susan Tillinghast. Dear sister to the late Edward Arsenault and Ernest Arsenault. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

    I’m so sorry that I didn’t get to see her before she passed but forever grateful I got to speak to her on the phone. She’s given me lessons I’ve used my whole life . May she Rest In Peace.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
