Michael J. McDonald

Family & friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, August 31st, 2013 beginning at 2 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, until 4 p.m. for Michael J. McDonald, who died unexpectedly at his Revere residence on Thursday, August 15th, at 57 years.  The funeral service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 4:15 p.m.  Michael was born in Boston & was a life-long resident of Revere, graduating from Revere High School, Class of 1974.  Most of his working career was within the construction industry as a laborer.  Michael was a devout Roman Catholic & attended mass daily at either St. Anthony’s or Immaculate Conception Church of Revere.  He is the beloved son of the late: Boston Police Patrolman, Frank J. McDonald & Judith V. (Gallagher) McDonald.  He is the devoted Brother of: Donna L. McDonald of Revere, Thomas F. McDonald & his wife Susan of Winchester, Margaret Gamel & her husband Jay of East Milton, Glenn Ross of Connecticut, & the late Stephen F. McDonald.  He is the Dear Uncle to Christine E. Bagnera & Matthew S. McDonald, both of Revere, & the late Christopher J. McDonald.  Interment will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
