His funeral will follow the visitation, followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere, at 11 a.m. Born & raised in Boston’s North End, he attended Boston schools & was a 1957 alumnus of Charlestown High School. His beloved late parents, Vincent “Jimmy” Stagno & Josephine (Bruno) Stagno, owned & operated “Jay’s Luncheonette” of Boston at two locations, on Cambridge St. across from Massachusetts General Hospital & the other nearer to “Scollay Square.” As a young man, he worked with his parents as a cook, maintenance worker, manager, etc. He left the family nest & together with his younger brother, Vincent F. “Jimmy” Stagno, ventured out to Colorado. There they began their own business, a fast food stop, which exploded into a caravan of over 20 locations, known as “All Variety Sub-Marine Sandwiches.” He & his brother owned & operated the entire empire until the early 1990’s when they returned to Boston to be closer to family. Unfortunately, a childhood accident brought about early onset Alzheimer’s Disease for the past 13 years. Although the disease became more aggressive, the determination of his sister, brother, nephews & nieces enabled him to remain at home until most recently. He is the cherished brother of Nora Salamone & her late husband Salvatore M., Sr., & Vincent F. “Jimmy” Stagno, all of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by many nephews, nieces, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment will be in the family lot at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
