Richard P. “Dick” “Sully” Sullivan

He was 79 years old. Following the visitation, A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held privately at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Born and raised in East Boston with his brothers Francis Joseph and John, and sister, Kathryn, Dick graduated from Boston College High in 1957. Dick worked in Houston and Tripoli before returning home to the Boston area where he lived in Medford, Malden, Revere and Wakefield. Dick was an avid skier, devoted supporter of Boston University Men’s Ice Hockey, and a committed and active “Friend of Bill W.” with 37 years of sobriety and a dedication to sponsoring others. Dick is remembered by all for his sense of humor, generosity, love of sports and music, and devotion to friends and family.
He is the devoted father of Coleen Sullivan Curry & her husband Joseph, Megan Sullivan Toe & her husband John & the late Mary Ellen “Molly” Sullivan. Adored grandfather to Caroline, Violet & William Curry, all of Atlanta, GA. Cherished brother of Francis Joseph Sullivan & his wife Esther of Woburn, formerly of Melrose, Kathryn M. Murphy of Saugus & her late husband John, John L. Sullivan & his late wife Irene of Ft. Myers, FL. Dear son of the late Boston Firefighter Francis C. Sullivan & Mary A. (Cashman) Sullivan. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends & extended family.

Born & raised in Cambridge, Joanne was a 1956 alumna of Cambridge Girls’ High School. She continued on with her vision of becoming a Hairstylist and was a graduate of Boston Hairdressing Academy. In 1967, Joanne opened “Discoveries Plus II” in Boston’s Back Bay. She ran & operated the facility until retiring in 2009. Joanne’s work ethic & her wonderfully large personality drew many people to her “Shoppe”. Not only were people, properly coiffured, they were considered extended family to her & her staff.
She leaves her beloved husband of 57 years, Louis J. “Lingo” Cicatelli. She is the devoted mother of George W. “Billy” Harrison & his wife, Nina (Sciliano) of Revere & the late “Bobby Love”. She is the cherished grandmother of Brianna Harrison & her partner, Joshua of Cleveland, Ohio, George W. Harrison of Revere, Dr. Louis Cicatelli & Christina Cicatelli of Topsfield & the late Joseph W. Harrison. She is the dear sister of the late John J. “Lucky” McCormack & his late wife, Dolores C. (Beck) McCormack, Thomas V., Robert F. & Joseph J. McCormack. She is also lovingly survived by Lawrence”Larry” Cicatelli & his life-time partner, Michael Dorangrichia of Wisconsin & Louis J. Cicatelli Jr. & his wife, Jean of Topsfield. She is also the proud aunt to Carolyn L. McElroy & her husband, Kenneth C. of Shirley, formerly of Cambridge. Carrol, who passed away following a seven month battle with Congenital Heart Disease on Monday, December 10th at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Most recently, Revere Fire Chief Christopher P. Bright awarded Michael, at his bedside at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, as Revere’s First Honorary Firefighter Badge (Squad #51). His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, December 15th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Woodlawn Chapel Columbarium will be held privately at a later time.
Michael is the beloved son to John F. Carroll of Revere & the late Marna S. (Kelley) Carroll. He is the adored grandson to Jean Kelley-Martin of Revere & Joseph A. Martin. He is the devoted brother of Brian J. Carroll of Revere. He is the proud godson & nephew to Colleen C. Kelley & her husband, James Wakely of Lynn & the cherished nephew to Lance A. Kelley his wife, Diane & Donna J. Dicks & Cynthia A. Welch, all of Revere and Lorraine Brown & her late husband, Chelsea Police Sgt. Uriel J. (Allen) Melon

Methodist Church, 378-A Washington Street, Dorchester for Uriel J. (Allen) Melon, who died on Sunday, November 18th at Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Care Center of Beverly, following a long illness. She was 86 years old.
Uriel was born, raised & educated in Cudjoehead, Montserrat. In 1970, she & her husband, Richenel moved to the United States, settling in Boston. It was there they made their home and raised their family. Uriel had a passion for cooking and worked in Boston Children’s Hospital in the cafeteria. During this time, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts at Northeastern University and would work her way up to chef. Her career at Boston Children’s Hospital spanned over 30 years. She had a very deep faith and was a dedicated member of the Greenwood Memorial United Methodist Church in Dorchester, where she served as the past treasurer and organizer. Throughout the years, she planned and traveled extensively with members of the congregation.
She is the devoted wife of the late Richenel A. Melon, who passed on September 2nd, 2016. She is the loving & cherished mother of Matthew L. Melon & his wife Lia C. Peacock – Melon of Saugus. Adored Nanny of Elena & Brody Melon & the late John Melon. Dear sister of John Ryan of Florida & the late Matthew Ryan. She is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews and many loving friends and extended family members.

Silvestro, who passed on Friday, November 30th at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital, following a yearlong battle with metastatic cancer. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, December 6th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 670 Washington Ave., REVERE at 10:00 a.m. Interment is private.
Born in Boston’s West End, he attended Boston schools & was an alumnus of Brighton High School, Class of 1951. Most of his working career was as a Truck Driver for the Local 25. For 15 years, and until retirement, Frank worked as a Truck Driver for South Postal Annex in Boston, a job he enjoyed and where he made many life-long friends. However, he was most proud of his service in the U.S. Army, during Korea, from April 16, 1953 thru April 18. 1955. He was a long-time proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 25. The family moved to Revere over 44 years ago from East Boston, where they had lived for over 20 years. For 44 years, Frank was a devotee of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, serving as a faithful usher and Sunday collector. He also served as a volunteer where needed in many of the church functions. His joy at St. Mary’s was most evident in the greetings he would accord parishioners.
He is the beloved husband of 60 years to Jeanette T. (Scimone) Silvestro. He is the devoted father of Denise Stasio & her husband David T. of Revere, Mark Silvestro & his wife Linda of Rowley & Claudia DiMare & her husband Joseph of South Weymouth. He is the cherished grandfather of Joshua Stasio & Revere Patrolman Mark V. Silvestro, both of Revere, Adam Stasio & his wife Guinevere of Atkinson, New Hampshire, Christopher F. Silvestro of Rowley, Isabella & Sophia DiMare, both of South Weymouth. He is the dear brother to Joseph Silvestro & his wife Dorothy of Monument Beach, Domenic Silvestro Jr. & his wife Cheryll of Quincy, Concetta “Connie” Saraceno & her husband Gaetano of Winthrop & the late Rafaele “Ralph” & Sebastian “Jimmy” Silvestro. He is also lovingly survived by his 3 great-granddaughters; Jolene, Davianna & Rhiannon & also by his two (2) sisters-in-law; Josephine Silvestro of Walpole & Geraldine Silvestro of Hopkinton. Anne was affectionately known to many as “Auntie Anne”. She was born & raised in South Boston and very proud of it. She was educated in Boston Public Schools. Anne remained in Southie when she was married and began to raise her son James J. Penza. In 1973, the family moved to Dorchester, where they remained for 15 years then moving to Randolph. Anne worked for Commercial Union Assurance for approximately 27 years as a Rater until her retirement. She later went back to her old stomping grounds in South Boston. Anne loved her family and was very much a dedicated mother & grandmother. She prided herself with her cooking and especially loved to cook all of her family’s favorite meals for them.
She was the devoted wife of 40 years to the late Gaetano D. “Guy” Penza. She is cherished mother of James J. Penza & his wife Linda M. of Saugus. Cherished grandmother of Stephanie L. Penza of Saugus & Tracey L. Penza & her companion Joseph Casali of Danvers. She is the adored great grandmother of Isobel M., Nicholas J., & Lucas B. Dear sister of Ret. LT. Boston Fire Dept. John J. “O.J.” Simpson & his wife Millie of Bellingham. She was Auntie Anne to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends, & extended family. Interment will be private.

Born in Winthrop, Deborah lived her entire life in Revere, before moving to Middleton, in 2015. She is an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1976. Early in her working career, Deborah began a teaching position as a Teacher’s Aide within the Revere School System, for about seven years, before making a career change and taking on a position with the Cosmetics Department at Macy’s in the Square One Mall of Saugus. There, she would work as a salesperson, but most importantly, as a Cosmetics Demonstrator. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and her “larger than life personality” certainly proved to be an asset to her time at Macy’s. Deborah’s “extended family” included each & every one of her associates & co-workers. Once you became a friend of Debbie’s, it was forever.
She is the beloved wife & best friend of 39 years to Retired Revere Firefighter, Joseph J. Spallone of Middleton. She is the devoted mother of Joseph J. Spallone Jr. & Jessica L. Spallone, both of Revere. She is the adored daughter to Stanley Brenner & his wife, Rosella of Merrimac, New Hampshire & the dear sister of Shelley Rafuse of Randolph. She is also lovingly survived by her niece, Stephanie Rafuse of Franklin & also her grand-nephew, James Ryan. Her faithful canine buddy, Coco, also, is most saddened by her passing. Deborah was also the adoring daughter to the late Merilyn (Shifres) Brenner.

Born & raised in Revere, Lenny attended Revere Public Schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Conflict and served his country with honor & pride. He was honorably discharged in March of 1968. Lenny began a long career that would span over 30 years in the Iron Workers Union Local #7 of Boston. Lenny was also an avid fisherman often seen on the waters of Boston Harbor & islands. He was “clam digger” & “lobsterman”. Being on his boat was Lenny’s passion and he was known to all his friends and family as being a hardworking man and always being the life of the party.
He is the devoted son of the late Leonard W. D’Amico & Louise (Scardetta) D’Amico. He is the loving brother of Florence Stavorpoulos & husband her Nicholas, Geraldine Capano & her husband Americo “Rick”, all of Revere & Veronica Burgin of Peabody. He is the dear uncle of Steven “Dude” Capano of Revere, Susan Sangster of Salem, Rick Capano of Revere, Timothy Hegarty of Rockville, Maryland, Leighsa Burgin of Natick & Sara C. Almeida of Peabody. Born in Lynn, she lived all of her life in Revere & was an alumna of the Immaculate Conception Grammar & High School, Class of 1964. Early in her working career, she spent about ten years with the Bank of Boston as an assistant administrative clerk. Later in her career, she would become a Front-End Manager of several Boston retail markets, including the Purity Supreme Chain. She retired after ten years with Purity Supreme.
She is the widow of the late Terry Ferguson & the cherished mother of Scott A. Ferguson & Shauna M. Ferguson & her partner, William Glover, all of Revere. She is the adored grandmother to Adrianna R. Glover. She is also the dear sister to her twin sister, Janet A. Gnad of Revere, Donna M. DeSantis & her partner, Eric Cardone of Swampscott & the late John A. Conners, Jr. She was also the beloved daughter of the late John A. & Mildred R. (Buckley) Conners. She is also lovingly survived by her sister-in-law, Janice Conners of Wrentham & several faithful nieces & nephews. Interment is private.

She had many fine jobs throughout her working career, with the clerical department at both Graphic Arts of Charlestown & the former National Shawmut Bank of Boston in their secretarial department.
She was the beloved wife of the late Carmen A. Guarino, who passed in November of 2008. She is the cherished mother to Carmen E. Guarino & his wife, Gail of Brewster, Vincent J. “Jim” Guarino of Revere & Robert T. Guarino of Revere. She is the devoted grandmother to Danielle S. Silverman & her husband, Justin of Wayland, Julia K. Rosequist & her husband, Brett of Hingham & adoring great-grandmother to Ryan, Elle, Susanah & Samuel. She is the dear sister of Carmela “Millie” Koch & her husband, Edward of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also lovingly survived by her canine Grandkids, Gus & Sandy.
