Peter J. McNeff
Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, March 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), REVERE for Peter Joseph McNeff, who passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 14th, at his Seabrook, New Hampshire residence. The Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home following the visitation at 7:15 p.m.
Peter was born in Everett, raised there briefly and then the family moved to Winthrop. He is an alumnus of Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, Ma., a private school, where he matriculated quickly and was awarded an early Associate’s Degree. He continued onto Harvard Extension & pursued a curriculum in pre-law. For over 33 years, he has had a constant career with the U.S. Postal Service at South Postal Annex as a mail handler. Within the McNeff family, several share the comradery of occupation, i.e., his brother Matt & his sister Maria also work for the U.S. Postal Service. He sought the outdoors and was an enthusiastic traveler and especially enjoyed boating, biking and other outdoor sporting events. Peter moved over ten years ago to Seabrook, New Hampshire.
He is the cherished son of Anne M. (Todino) McNeff of Winthrop & James V. McNeff of Somerville. He is the beloved brother to Matthew J. McNeff & his husband, David J. Russo of Watertown, Maria A. Hawkins & her husband Russell of Burlington, Indiana, Christina M. McNeff & her husband, David Bowles of Portland, Oregon. He is also the dear uncle to Sarah E. McNeff & Keith R. McNeff, both of Winthrop. Entombment in the Woodlawn Cemetery Columbarium Chapel will be held privately.
Stunned to learn of Pete’s passing. Found myself reflecting back to Brookfield Rd. Glad for the time we had together and can only wish that we had more.
My heart goes out to Pete’s family.
Pete, I can only hope to see you on the other side…to pick-up where we left off.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I worked with Peter at Boston Children’s Theater and thought he was a great guy. He was also a great stage manager. I know all of us from that era miss him.
Dear Anne & the entire McNeff family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your beloved son Peter. My dad & I were deeply saddened to hear about this. We never had the great pleasure of meeting your loving son, we only know one thing is for certain, if he was anything like his mother, he is already in our lords loving arms in heaven above. Anne, please try to remember all of your wonderful memories of Peter, which we are sure were many, hold them deep within your loving heart forever. You are, & always will be very special to us. May your loving son Peter rest in peace now, & forever. Our love, & special prayers go out to you, & your family at this time of need, & always. God bless you.
With much love, & deepest regrets,
John & Joe Costanzo
I’m very sorry for your loss. Peter and I were students together at Simon’s Rock.
I got to know Peter again in the early 2000s when he was a volunteer ESL tutor in my program at BBoston Chinatown Neighborhood Center. He was a generous, kind person.
Peter will greatly be missed in his Seabrook community. Thoughts and prayers
Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the McNeff family. Robby and I cannot express how truly sad the news of Petes passing has made us. We both have memories going back years of his kindness, humor, and intelligence. We had some great times with Peter and many laughs. He was a good friend and one of a kind. He’ll stay in our thoughts and be sorely missed.
Dear Anne and family,
My heartfelt sympathies are sent your way. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Wrap yourself in the warmth of the memories and take comfort.
