Phyllis M. (Giso) Melchionno

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, July 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway, Revere, for Phyllis M. (Giso) Melchionno, who died Wednesday, July 15th at Rosewood Nursing Home and Melchionno, PhyllisRehabilitation Center of Peabody, following a lengthy illness. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, July 21st at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St, Revere at 10:00 a.m.

 

 

Mrs. Melchionno was born in Boston’s North End, raised there and was a 1952 graduate of the former Julie Billart Catholic Girl’s High School of Boston. She came to Revere over 60 years ago, after marrying Nicholas A. Melchionno. Mr. Melchionno died in May of 2013. Phyllis was a dedicated Mom, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed her family thoroughly & especially relished in the company of her grandchildren.

 

 

She is the devoted mother of Karyn Maglione and her husband Joseph of Revere and Lisa A. Melchionno of Peabody, formerly of Revere. She is the cherished grandmother of Nicholas A. Melchionno of Revere, Brianna R. Carney of Peabody and the late Joseph A. Maglione. Dear sister of Samuel Giso of Boston’s North End, Richard Giso and his wife Lucille of Peabody and the late Grace and Anthony Giso and Angelina Regan. Many nieces and nephews also survive her. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Tuesday, July 21st at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere

Interment

Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden

We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
