Phyllis M. (Reid) Antonelli

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, May 24th, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), Revere, for Phyllis M. (Reid) Antonelli, who died on Wednesday, May 22nd at her Revere home following a long illness, at 84 years.  The funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25th at 9 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Peabody.  Mrs. Antonelli was born & raised in Chelsea, attended Chelsea schools, & came to Revere in 1953.  Her beloved husband, Rocco J. Antonelli, died in September of 2009.  She is the Cherished mother of: Rosemarie Antonelli & her long-time companion, Retired Revere Firefighter, Anthony J. “Tony” Cappoccia of Revere & the late Anthony J. Antonelli.  She is the dear mother-in-law to: Kathleen (Horgan) Antonelli of Everett.  She is the Devoted Grandmother of: Revere Patrolman Douglas Zingali & his wife, Vivianne of Salem, Toni Antonelli-Alterio & her husband, Paul Alterio, of Malden, Whitney & Alanna Antonelli, both of Everett.  She is the Dear sister of: Harold Reid & his wife, Diane, of Saugus, John Reid & wife, Jean, of Waltham, Joseph Reid & his late wife, Mary, of Chelsea & the late Lillian G. Tirro & Robert Reid.  She is also lovingly survived by her 4 great-grandchildren, Douglas Zingali, Jr., Daniel R. Zingali, Anthony Alterio, & Ava Cozzolino, her brother-in-law, Angelo “Bob” Tirro of Peabody, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston, 70 Walnut St., Suite 301, Wellesley, MA 02481.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
