R. Joseph Bagley

Family & friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, November 6th at Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks St., EAST BOSTON beginning at 9:00 a.m., for R. Joseph Bagley, who passed away unexpectedly on October 30th. He was 71 years of age. A Funeral Mass will follow immediately at 10:00 a.m. Joseph will be privately laid to rest with his parents at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Joe was born & raised in East Boston. He was educated in Boston Public Schools and was a proud graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1966. After High School, Joe had a deep fascination for automobiles and worked in the auto parts field to broaden his knowledge. He was a model employee of several of the local area auto parts stores. His customer service skills were exemplary, and he spent over 25 years working at Lappen’s Auto Parts in Revere. Joe led a very simplistic life and was an extremely humble & faithful man. He was a very dedicated Boston Sports Fan and especially loved the Boston Red Sox.

He is the loving son of the late Robert J. Bagley & Mary M. (Perry) Bagley. Beloved brother of Margaret E. “Marge” Chiaraluce of Swampscott & her late husband Alfred Chiaraluce. Cherished uncle of Philip A. Caponigro, Joseph S. Caponigro & his wife Kelly & Carlo E. Caponigro & his wife Francesca. Dear granduncle of Joseph Caponigro & his wife Brittany, Katelyn Gillis & her husband Andrew, Gina, Natalie, Jaymie & John Caponigro & great granduncle of Joseph & Jackson. He is also lovingly survived by his many Bagley cousins and other family & friends.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
