Ralph J. Ferragamo

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, June 28th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Ralph J. Ferragamo, who passed away, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, June 24th at the Massachusetts General Hospital, following a long illness. He was 82 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, June 29th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) Revere at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Ralph was born & raised in Revere and he was educated in Revere Public Schools. He was drafted in the United States Army during the Viet Nam Era. Ralph returned back to Revere after his honorable service to his country. He married Judith A. (Ricupero) and the couple settled in the Beachmont section of Revere, where they raised their family. Ralph worked early on as an Oil Burner Technician and later took a position at the M.B.T.A., as an Electrician. He had a career that spanned over 25 years. Ralph was known as a dedicated family man and loved to spend time with them. He was an avid Boston sports fan of all of the major teams. One of Ralph’s passions was cooking. His family would talk about his legendary meals. He also enjoyed spending time in the garden. He had a “Green Thumb” & he loved growing and pruning his rose bushes and caring for his vegetable gardens. He was a past member of the Beachmont V.F.W. Post #6712.

He is the beloved husband of 47 years to the late Judith A. (Ricupero) Ferragamo, who passed on June 11, 2006. Loving father of Jill M. Furlong & Revere Firefighter Michael J. Ferragamo. Cherished grandfather of James P. Furlong & Zachary M. Furlong, all of Revere. He is the dear brother of Lillian Gonzalez of North Reading, Joanne Ferragamo of Peabody & the late Anthony J. Ferragamo, Phyllis Dent, Joseph A. Ferragamo, Sr. & Christopher J. Ferragamo. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. Late U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict.

    To Jill and Michael and grandsons,

    I am saddened by your loss and have fond memories of uncle Ralph. He will always be in our hearts and remembered with great love. May he finally be reunited with auntie Judy and be at peace.

We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
