Family & friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, April 12th, 2013 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Richard A. Conrad, who died on Sunday, April 7th at the Atlantic Care Hospital in Pomona, New Jersey, following a long illness, at 81 years.  His funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Lakeside Cemetery of Wakefield, MA.  Mr. Conrad was born in Chicago, Illinois, & his family moved to Dorchester, MA when he was a young boy.  He lived in the Dorchester-Boston area for most of his life before moving to Ventnor, NJ over 40 years ago.  He spent over 25 years with the Atlantic City Convention Center, as their Vice-President.  He retired in 1996.  He served in the Korean Conflict from April of 1951 – March of 1953 with the United States Air Force, as a Staff Sergeant.  He is the beloved husband of 42 years to Roberta T. (Forman) Conrad of Ventnor City, NJ.  He is the devoted father of Alan B. Segal & his wife, Shirley, of Revere.  He is the Beloved brother of: Elaine Bushey & her husband Larry of Buzzard’s Bay, Paul Conrad & his wife Linda of Hanover, George Conrad & his wife Patricia of Braintree, Gerrye Sampson & her husband James of Braintree.  He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

Friday, April 12th, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home.

Interment

Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
