Richard L. “Richie” Santiano

A Funeral Service was held on Friday, March 13th at the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals of Revere, for Richard L. “Richie” Santiano, who died most unexpectedly on Sunday, March 8th at his Boxford residence. “Richie” spent his early years in Saugus & was an alumnus of Saugus High School, Class of 1974. He continued to live in Saugus until moving to Boxford, MA in 1990. He loved his home & maintaining it himself, impeccably. A tall 6′ foot ruggedly handsome young man, he had a personality to match. History says that a party never got going until “Richie” was there.” He had an all-embracing personality and above all, placed his Mom, siblings, nephews & nieces & his longtime companion, first & fore- most in his life. For over 15 years and until his untimely passing, he was the “Wholesale Parts Manager for Herb Chambers Chevrolet Dealership of Danvers. There he enjoyed many fiercely strong & faithful friendships.

He leaves his cherished Mom, Phyllis (Eramo) Santiano of Saugus & the late, Michael J. Santiano, Jr. He is the devoted brother to Maureen D. Santiano, Rose Sarro, Robert J. Santiano & his wife, Ann of Saugus & the late Michael J. Santiano, III. He is the dear uncle to Montana S. Santiano of Saugus & her partner, William Jackson of Salem, Ma, Michael A. Santiano & his partner, Ashley Wright of Haverhill, MA, Maryanne Santiano & her fiancé, Matthew Williams of East Boston & Julie partner, Stephen Pizzi of Revere. Also lovingly survived by his 27 year companion, Cheryl A. Jarvis & her children, Denise E. Leigh, & Kristen A. Stack all of Woburn & Stephen P. Jarvis of Chelmsford. Several Aunts, Uncles and cousins also survive Richie. lnterment was in the Main Street Cemetery, ROWLEY, MA.

Friday, March 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home

Main St. Cemetery, Rowley

    What shocking news , our Hearts go out to Cheryl and the whole Santiano family and all of Richie’s friends. He was one hell of a great person to have known all these years in the business we were in. I surely will miss my calls and visits with him . Rest in Peace my friend…..

    My condolences to the entire Santiano Family as well as Cheryl Jarvis and your children. I personally have never met any of you other than Cheryl. I met Richie 30+years ago working at Bob Brest Autoworld on the Lynnway and we have been friends since. He is one of a kind and was a great friend. Fortunately I was able to stop in and see him last week at his work. We never skipped a beat. I will miss him deeply, R.I.P. Sarge, you are the best!

Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
