Richard M. Fidalgo

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Wednesday, April 12th in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway, (Rte. 107), REVERE, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for Richard M. Fidalgo, who passed away on April 6th, unexpectedly following a lengthy illness. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:15 p.m.

He is the husband of the late Rita “Sissy” (McGrath). Cherished father of Michele R. Leonard & husband Michael & devoted grandfather to Dylan M. Leonard, Melanie R. Leonard & Taylor K. Leonard, all of Revere. Dear brother of Rose Broadbear of CA & the late John M. Fidalgo, Florence Wofford & Virginia Knuttila. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Born and raised in East Boston, he was a mechanic/auto body technician and retired from Rick’s Auto Collision of Revere. Richie appeared early on in his career as a very successful guitarist and vocalist. His venues were lounges, supper clubs & private events. He used the professional name of “Richie Vance”. Interment will be held privately.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
