I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t believe that Richie is gone. I will always remember the days of pranks on Larkin Street. The Christmas mornings he loudly woke us up. All the laughs sitting on your front porch trying to figure out what we were going to do next. Watching our parents being just as crazy as us.Life was good in our little world.Rest in peace and say hi to our parents.

To Richie’s Family, Friends and sweet Max,

To the family, I am so very sorry for your unimaginable loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain. But He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

I write this with such a very heavy heart. I am completely devastated by Richie’s passing. I never knew a kinder soul. He would always greet you with the biggest smile and an even bigger hug. He was a very good friend to not just me, but many, and I will miss him so. May all our memories comfort us during this most difficult time.

Fly with the angels my friend and watch over us and Max. I love you and I’ll miss you more.

    Nadine Solano

This is something I’d like to share:

To my dearest family, some things I’d like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I’m writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there are no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I’m out of sight.
Remember that I’m with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, “I welcome you.”

It’s good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they’ll be here later on.

I need you here badly; you’re part of my plan.
There’s so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day’s chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn’t understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o’er.
I’m closer to you now, than I ever was before.

    There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I’d like it for you too…
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who’s in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night……”My day was not in vain.”
And now I am contented….that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
    When you’re walking down the street, and you’ve got me on your mind;
I’m walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it’s time for you to go from that body to be free,
remember you’re not going, you’re coming here to me.

Bless all of you in these sad days. You are in my thoughts as I remember the times I enjoyed Richie’s company at camp. He was so darn funny on any subject brought to the table. I especially remember when I was going on a vacation to Cancun. Richie told me of his trip to Cancun and how he could not eat the food and was sick the whole trip. I always thanked him as he set this in my head and I too was sick the whole trip. HAHA Thanks Richie – Funny Memory!

    Love to the Pignone’s
    Your friend,

Although Richie and I didn’t “Hang out” together, he was a frequent visitor to my home whenever he ventured to Florida. We’ve spent more than a few hours around the table breaking bread and sharing a bottle of wine. Often we spoke of the simpler things in life that bring true happiness, just like what we were doing at that moment; sharing a meal and some memories. Richie could be hilarious with his quick wit and “take no prisoners” attitude in a conversation of ANY topic with which he got engaged. He never got to sample my home made wine, which we spoke about when last we met at my mothers house in Revere in July. On his next trip down here he was going to come by for some. I’ll tilt a glass back in his memory and always remember what truly pleased him was simple things like that. R.I.P. Richie.

    David,

I was so sorry to learn of your brother’s premature death. I have fond memories of him as a teen. He was a sweet and loving boy and he seemed to adore his older brother and the feeling was clearly mutual.

My thoughts are with you and your family at this very difficult time, and hope you can find comfort that Rich is at peace and in a better place.

I don’t really know what to say. I loved Ritchie even though I haven’t been around for over 20 years. I will remember working with you guys and the laughter and the tears when we we’re a lot younger and spending time together. Dave and family, my thoughts and love are with you during this messed up time.
    Love to all of you

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
