Robert J. Lanza

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, June 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Robert J. Lanza, who died on Monday, June 15th at Union Hospital, Lynn, following a lengthy illness. His Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, June 18th followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
Born in Winthrop, he was a life-long resident of Revere and an alumnus of RHS, Class of 1969. Mr. Lanza enjoyed a 43 year long career with the US Postal Service, as a letter carrier in Revere. He retired in 2012. He was the beloved son of the late Rudolph U. Lanza and Josephine (DiGiulio) Lanza. He does leave behind his faithful and best friend, Nicholas C. Chitopoulos and his family of Medford. Mr. Lanza leaves no immediate survivors.

    Bobby Lanza was one of the greatest softball pitchers in the Boston Area for many years. He was also a great person, and payed of many teams with and against him.
    May he rest in peace, and God has one hell of a competitor up there.

    Bobby was a good friend and co worker,he will be missed.I visited him many times in the hospital and in rehab,he never complained and was always cheerful, I will think of him often. John Mackay

    Bobby Lanza leaves behind his aunt Anna Sciaraffa, uncle Bob DiGiulio and his wife Marie, several cousins from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Florida and Pennsylvania, who are mourning his loss.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
