Ronald J. Webber

Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, November 6th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio and Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) REVERE, for Ronald J. Webber, who died on Friday, October 25th at the Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona, after a long illness. He was 72 years old. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 7:15 p.m., Interment will be held on Thursday, November 7th at 1:45 p.m., at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA were Ronald will be laid to rest with his dear late wife Janice T. (Paterna) Webber who died on March 15th, 2019.

Ron was born & raised in Norwood. He was an Alumnus of Norwood High School, Class of 1966. Immediately after high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country during the Vietnam Era and unfortunately due to a serious accident while serving, he was forced to be honorably discharged in 1968. Ron returned home and became an autobody technician apprentice. He remained in the industry while he mastered his craft. He began a career at Norwood Buick where he had worked for 30 years before retiring. He married the love of his life, Janice (Paterna) & the couple lived in Walpole & Millis. Ron was an active & long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus of Norwood Council #252. On June 18, 2019, Ron received the honor of becoming a Third-Degree Knight. He loved saltwater fishing down on Cape Cod & was an avid racquetball player and skier. Ron was also an avid sports fan of Boston Sports. He and his wife were both Patriots fans and regular season ticket holders. The one most important aspect of his life was his love for his wife, she meant everything to him. Shortly after the loss of his wife, he relocated to Arizona but due to his continued failing health & the loss of his wife, he passed shortly after moving there.

He is the proud & loving husband of 48 ½ years to the late Janice T. (Paterna) Webber. He is the devoted son of the late Robert J. & Irja (Salonen) Webber. He is also lovingly survived by his sister in law Maria A. D’Amico. He is the cherished uncle of Maria Cummings & her husband Robert & their children, Tayla M., Robert A. & Hanna E. Cummings, all of Lancaster, NH. He is also lovingly survived by several cousins and friends.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
