Rose (Zarba) Gordon

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith HomeGordon, Rose for Funerals 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Rose (Zarba) Gordon, who passed away in her Lynnfield home on Saturday, May 2nd following a brief illness. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, May 8th at 9:30 a.m. Followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 660 Washington Ave, Revere.

Born and raised in Revere, she was a lifelong resident. She was a 1950 alumna of Revere High School. As an active member of the St. Mary’s Parish community, she was a member of the St. Mary’s Ladies’ Solidarity and also their bowling league. Early in her career, she worked at the Grover Manor Hospital in Revere. As the mother of 4 boys, she became a “Supreme Mom”. Rose’s beloved husband, Arthur M. Gordon, passed away on February 1, 2004.

She is the devoted mother of A. Marte Gordon and his wife Susan of Gloucester, Michael B. Gordon and his wife Susan of Danvers, Matthew J. “Matt” Gordon and his wife Doreen of Lynnfield and Mitchell L. Gordon and his husband Dwayne Bryant of Revere.

Cherished grandmother of Daniel M. Gordon and his wife Hilary, Elyse S. Gordon and her fiancée Carl Goskowski, all of Beverly, Myla M. Gordon of Reading, Matthew J. Gordon Jr. and his fiancee Sarah Curran of South Boston, David C. Gordon of Everett, Kyle G. Gordon of Manhattan, NY, Bryan A. Gordon of Gloucester, Dayna S. Gordon of Revere and Max J. Gordon of Gloucester.

Dear sister of Ida Nastasia of Palm Bay, FL, Anthony “Tony” Zarba and his wife Martel of Munich, Germany and the late Salvatore, Philip and Frederick Zarba, Minnie Lozzi, Mary Cangiamila and Alice Semon. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
