Russell A. Carver
Private services & interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, were held for Russell Andrew Carver, who died at the Somerville Hospital, Somerville, on Saturday, August 9th, 2014 following a long illness, at 72 years. A victim of diabetes mellitus, he was a double-amputee for the past seven years. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1999, after 20 years of service at South Postal Annex as a mail clerk. Born & raised in Somerville, he attended schools there & was a 1959 graduate of Somerville High School. Russell entered the United States Navy in January of 1961 & served until January of 1965. He was a veteran of the Viet-Nam era. He was a member of the VFW Post of Somerville, & a lifelong Somerville resident. He was the beloved son of the late, Russell F. Carver & Frances A. (Crawford) Carver. He is survived by his twin sister, Rosalind F. Bossi of Revere, & his brother, Bruce Carver & his wife Cathy of Mystic, Connecticut. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces & nephews. Remembrances may be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
