S. Ann (Wilson) Evensen

Services & interment at the Mass National VA Cemetery, Bourne have been held for S. Ann (Wilson) Evensen, who passed on Wednesday, May 22nd at Boston’s Beth Israel – Deaconess Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Born on December 15, 1923 in Canada to the late Samuel & Suzanna (Kingston) Wilson. She came to live in Medford as a little girl. She was educated in Medford & was a 1941 alumna of Medford High School. She was Valedictorian of her high school class & she continued her studies at Boston University. She & her family relocated to Winchester, and also held a “Beach House” in Dennisport for over 20 years. Her grandchildren recall with joy the many, many summers they enjoyed in Dennisport, while their grandparents shepherded their yearly years. She was married to Roy A. Evensen, who died February 21, 1995. Mrs. Evensen was a long time member & benefactor for the Parish of the Epiphany of Winchester & also Grace Episcopal Church of Medford. After her children had grown, she began working for the City of Medford & spent over 20 years within the City of Medford School Department as a Manager & Administrative Assistant in the Payroll Division. She enjoyed her homes, there she spent much time in her gardens & entertaining family & friends. Shortly following her husband’s death, Mrs. Evensen began her 24 year residence, here in Point of Pines, Revere with her daughter & son in law & their family (Mr. & Mrs. Michael P. & Susan A. Myers).

She is the cherished mother of Roy W. Evensen & his wife Penelope of Sarasota, FL., Richard A. Evensen of Boise, ID & the late Susan A. Myers. She is also lovingly survived by her son in law, Michael P. Myers, Sr. of Point of Pines Revere, within whose home she made her home. She is the devoted grandmother of Colleen A. Myers of Point of Pines Revere, Michael Evensen & his wife Sandi & Michele Donovan all of Scituate, Amanda Evensen of Nashua, NH & the late Michael P. Myers, Jr. She is the proud great-grandmother of (8) eight & aunt of several. She was the dear sister of the late Charles Wilson & Margaret “Peg” Wilson – Clark.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
