Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 14th, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (route 107) Revere for Thomas J. Finnegan who died at the E.N. Rodgers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford on Saturday January 10th following a lengthy illness, he was 82 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, January 15th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St. at 10 a.m.. Born & raised in Revere, Tom attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School. He was an alumnus of Revere High School Class of 1951. After graduation Tom went to work for the Ford Motor Plant in Somerville, working on the “Assembly Line”. 1951 Tom joined the United States Army, serving his country proudly during the Korean Conflict. When Tom returned home from his duty, he went to work for United Airlines, for 18 years. On March 5th, 1957 Tom would marry Anna L. “Louise” Peters. The couple remained in Revere when they began their family, later moving to Chelsea raising their 6 children. Tom worked very hard and always dreamed of having his own business, so he began “Spencer Property Management” a business that he owned & operated for 51 years. Tom was also a life member of the Revere Lodge of Elks #1171. Through all of his achievements & success, there was nothing that he enjoyed more than being with his family. He is the devoted husband of Anna L. “Louise” (Peters) Finnegan of whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He is the loving father of Coleen A. Doss & her late husband James A. Doss of Louisville,KY , Marcelle M. McDonough, Jacqueline M. Finnegan both of Chelsea, Daniel G. Finnegan of Somerville, Sean T. Finnegan & his wife Aretuza & the late Thomas H. Finnegan. He is the cherished grandfather of Chrystal, Melanie, James, Asenath, Katie, John, Jasmine, Kenya, Desiree & Brianna. He is the adored great grand father of 12. He is the beloved brother of the late Mary MacDonald, Peggy DiBiase, Kathleen Mackay & Eileen Clifford. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association MA & NH Chapter, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.

    Hi Louise,
    Again I am so sorry for your loss.
    Unfortunately, I’m leaving for Florida at 6:00 the morning of the wake and will be unable to attend.

Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
