Victor A. Presto, Sr.

Victor A. Presto, Sr. was born April 1, 1924, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, he lived in East Boston and Davie, Florida before settling in Weston, FL.  Victor died after a brief illness at his home in Weston, FL on Wednesday, September 19, 2014 surrounded by his family, he was 90 years old.  Formerly of Chelsea, and East Boston, Vic was the son of the late Vito and Maria Presto, Husband of the late Phyllis Meoli Presto with whom he was married for 47 years.  Brother of the late Frank Presto and Rose Zawacki and her husband Harold.  Father of Victor A. Presto, Jr. of Naples, FL and his wife Diane, Attorney Anthony V. Presto of Jacksonville, FL, and Marianne Ryan and her husband David W. of West Newton, MA.  Grandfather of Brendan D. Ryan, Meghan A. Ryan and Lauren F. Ryan, Michael V. Presto, Felicia Presto and Giana Presto.  Uncle of Harry and Alison Zea and their children Antonia and Nicholas of Naples, FL.  Brother-in-law of Esther and Anthony Manuele of Naples, FL.  Grand and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  A World War II Veteran, Vic enlisted at the age of 19 and served his Country honorably from 1942 to 1945 in New Guinea and the Philippines as a U.S. Army Air Force Military Policeman, attached to the 5th Army Division.  After the war, he became a Union Presser and member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union where he was employed for 47 years.  Vic was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge and the Italian American Club in Revere, MA for over 40 years.  Vic enjoyed travel, he and his beloved Phyllis travelled the world until her death in 1994.  Always well dressed and congenial, Vic had a good word and a smile for everybody.  He enjoyed playing golf, and was a skilled mandolin player.  Later in life, he became astute at day trading in the stock market.  Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, September 25 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere.  His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, September 26 at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, 45 Brooks St., East Boston, at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow in the family lot at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: The MVP Autism Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 959, Naples, FL 34106.

Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Sacred Heart, East Boston.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
