Virginia E. (Merrill) Fiore

Family & friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, March 20th in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., for Virginia E. (Merrill) Fiore, who passed after a lengthy illness on Sunday, March 17th in the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center & Rehabilitation of Revere. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 20th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere and immediately followed by interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Mrs. Fiore would have celebrated her 100th Birthday on October 8th. On December 11th, 2008, she lost the love of her life, her beloved Husband, James V. Fiore.

She is the adored mother of David D. Fiore & his wife Linda. Devoted grandmother of Charmaine J. Fiore, Merissa L. Fiore, Sabrina L. Anesse, all of Revere. She is also the cherished great-grandmother of Taylor A. Fiore, Henry L. Anesse, IV & Isabella Rose Cushing. She is dear sister to Verna Leander of Florida, Valerie Lindgren & her husband, Wayne of York, Maine & the late Phillip & Victor Merrill. She was the proud daughter of the late, Goodwin Ivory Merrill & Ethel-Mae (Barton) Merrill. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grandnephews.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
