Walter J. Nickerson

At 71 years following a lengthy illness, October 29. Formerly of Everett & Wakefield. Beloved son of the late Walter E. Nickerson & Sarah M. “Sally” (Smith) Nickerson. Cherished brother to Carol A. Ciampi & husband Alfred J. Ciampi of Wakefield formerly of Everett. Devoted uncle of Stacey L. Bowe & her husband Clarence of Seabrook, NH, Jarred M. Ciampi of Wakefield & Alfred J. John “A.J.” Ciampi Jr. & his wife Dena of Methuen. Also lovingly survived by his 5 grand nieces & grand nephews: Alexa, Anthony, Vincent, Baylee & Domenic.

Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, November 5 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, from 10 A.M. – 12 Noon, followed by the Funeral Service in The Funeral Home at 12:15 P.M. and immediately followed by Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era & Retiree of The Boston Globe (Post Office Dept.) South Annex.

    Dear carol
    So sorry to hear of walter’s death . I remember when you lived on Shute st then Newton st . And would see Walter walk up the street . I no longer live in everett but remember the days growing up .

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
