Yolanda M. “Viola” (Balzi) Ferraro

Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 19th in the Vertuccio and Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE followed by the funeral service in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Parking is available left of the funeral home.  Interment is private.

Ferraro, Yolanda M. “Viola” (Balzi) at 88 years, formerly of Revere, in Kingman, Az. on Feb. 8th, after a lengthy illness. “Viola” was born in Boston & able to attend school only to the eighth grade. At that time, she began working at a clothing manufacturing Co. sewing in sleeves & collars. She met Thomas Ferraro in 1948. They married in 1950 and had 66 loving years of marriage. They shared many good years at their summer cottage with their family and friends on Mousam lake in Acton, Maine. Her legacy is of a loving, caring & giving person; always taking care of others’ needs.

Viola is the cherished wife of Thomas and the mother of Susan M. (Crews) & her husband Robert of Kingman, AZ & Michael T. Ferraro & his wife Sandy of Somerville, MA. Adored grandmother of Michelle Bowes & her husband Christopher of Revere, Kristen Rogers of Haverhill, Mallory M. Ferraro of Somerville & Madison L. Ferraro of Manchester NH. Dear sister of Adele Sestito of Taunton, Anna Gangemi &her husband Peter of Sandwich, Louis Balzi & wife Nina of Sagamore Beach, MA & the late Phyllis Smeglin, Olga Lynch, Ida Piatelli, Jennie Dundon, Richard “Archie” Balzi, Josephine Karas, Margaret Alward & Doris Balzi. She is also lovingly survived by 2 great-grand children Austin Nichols Phibbs & Lillian C. Bowes.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
