Born & raised in Boston, the family moved to East Boston when “Sal” was a young boy. He was a 1942 alumnus of East Boston High School. He entered the U.S. Army in October of 1944 & served until February of 1946. “Sal” was often given to recounting his adventures during his service time and was most proud of his participation and in the many army buddies he maintained for years. After being discharged from the service, he attended Bentley College of Accounting, graduation in 1950. For many years, he worked for the U.S. Navy as an accountant in Boston’s North End. Later, he would enjoy another career with Banking, serving at the former Shawmut Bank & Fleet Banks. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post #61 of Revere & a proud & active member of the Rossetti Seniors, regularly attending. Sal and his family are most grateful to the entire staff at the Rossetti Seniors, for their kind and sincere attention & affection, they bestowed upon him & his family.

DiPaolo of Revere & Richard M. Santoro & his wife, Phyllis of Novato, Cailf. He is the cherished grandfather to Susan E. Marconi & her husband, James Of Lynn, Stephanie A. Emmons of Woburn, Stacey M. God Bless Sal! All of us at the Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center, especially the staff, loved Sal, his spirit, attitude, and genuineness. We all feel fortunate to have spent so much time with Sal. One of our greatest moments was celebrating Sal’s 100th birthday several years ago and each one since then, including his 103rd this past February 4th. Condolences to the entire family. Thank you for sharing this special man with us.
