William G. Mullen
Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, October 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE for William G. Mullen, who passed following a lengthy illness at the Bedford Veterans Medical Center on Saturday, October 6th. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 7:15 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
An East Boston native & resident, Mr. Mullen was a 1949 alumnus of East Boston High School. He joined the U.S. Army in September of 1952 & served until September of 1954 during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal. His early working career was within the old Boston Meat & Food District as an expert meat cutter. He spent over 30 years in the Meat Market District, working for several distributors. He made a significant change in his final vocation & worked as a house painter, privately & for contractors. He retired at 75 years of age.
He was the beloved husband of the late Philomena E. (Paglucca) Mullen, who died on January 19, 2017. He is the devoted father to Joyce A. Hartman & her husband, Jonathan A. Hartman of Peabody & Revere, William G. Mullen, Jr. & his wife, Ann Marie of Middleborough & James W. Mullen of East Boston. He is the cherished grandfather to Taylor & Lisa Mullen, both of Middleborough & Samantha A. & Nicholas A. Hartman, both of Revere. William was brother of the late Esther Mullen & Francis & Albert Mullen. He is also loving survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nieces.
