Francis B. Reardon
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, September 3rd, 2012 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Francis B. Reardon, “Fran,” who died on Wednesday evening, August 29th at Annemark Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Revere, following a long illness, at 96 years. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, September 4th at 11 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Revere at 12 Noon. “Fran” was born in Dorchester, MA, one of seven children, born to the late, Patrick J. & Abbie (Connolly) Reardon. The family moved to Revere in 1923, when Fran was 7 years old. Fran attended Revere schools & was a 1934 alumnus of Immaculate Conception High School. He entered the United States Navy in July of 1943 & served until November of 1945, as a Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class. He was a long time member of the American Legion Post #61 & Revere Council, Knights of Columbus. For over 50 years, he and his brother, Patrick, owned & operated “Reardon’s Cafe & Restaurant.” Fran remained active in the family business with his nephews, Stephen & Patrick until 2005. He is the beloved husband of 31 years to, Elaine J. (O’Donnell). He is the devoted father of, Gerald L. Styburski of Revere. Dear brother of the late, John P. “Mickey” Reardon, James M. Reardon, Patrick J. Reardon, Jr., Marie B. Gormley, Kathleen B. “Kay” Reardon, & Ann E. Reardon. He is the cherished uncle of John P. “Jack” Reardon of Lynn, Sheila A. Screnci of Saugus, Attorney Michael H. Reardon of Washington, D.C., Patricia Schwabenbauer of Erie, PA, John Reardon of Merrimac, NH, Attorney Stephen F. Reardon of Revere, Patrick J. Reardon, Jr. of Revere & Janice Lane of Fairview, PA, Former Revere Police Chief Terrence K. Reardon of Lynnfield & Mary Regis Fusco of Stoneham. He is also lovingly survived by his granddaughter, Natalia Styburski of Tewksbury, & many grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
