Michael J. Dellapaolera
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, May 6th, 2013 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, beginning at 9 a.m. for Michael J. “Mickey” Dellapaolera, who died following a long illness at the home of his daughter in Woburn on April 28th, at 85 years. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11:15 a.m., presided over by his niece, the Reverend Stephanie R. DeSisto of Lynn & Revere. Born & raised in Watertown, he spent his early years in Somerville before moving to East Boston, where the family remained until 1972, when they moved to Revere. Mr. “Mickey” Dellapaolera wore many hats during his working career. For many years, he owned & operated the “M. & M.” Cafeteria at the Charlestown YMCA & then opened the Park St. Pizza in the Park St. MBTA Station. He then began working for the former Castiello’s Bakery of Revere & subsequently to Luberto’s Bakery of Revere. He served in the United States Army from March of 1946 – November of 1949, & is an Army Veteran of Korea. He was a member of the Commission for the Blind, having lost his sight years ago. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Commission for the Blind, 600 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111. His dear wife, Marguerite A. (Sbordone) died in February of 1993. He is the Devoted Father of: Donna M. Carbone of Randolph, Michael R. Dellapaolera & his wife Marie of Groveland, Karla M. Dellapaolera & her spouse Joanne Fiore of Woburn, & the late, Camille A. Dellapaolera & Mark D. Dellapaolera. He is also the dear brother of: Irene Conlin of Wilmington, Eleanor Begley of Reno, NV, George Dellapaolera of Minnesota, & the late, John, Willie, Tony, Benito & Peter Dellapaolera, & the late, Peggy Thomas, Rose Carbonetti & Egle Rossi. He is also lovingly survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Walter R. Jackson
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, from 2 – 4 p.m., for Walter R. Jackson who died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 28th at Boston Medical Center, at 59 years. The Memorial Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 4:15 p.m. Mr. Jackson was stricken at work on Thursday, April 25th & taken to Boston Medical Center. He suffered a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. Born & raised in Everett, he was a 1972 alumnus of Everett High School. He entered the United States Air Force in May of 1973 & served until December of 1974. He had a 34 year career with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Boston as a Printer. For the past nine years, he & his beloved wife of 17 years, Peggy A. (Hibbard) Jackson, were Revere residents. Besides his wife, he leaves his devoted mother, Norma (Washington) Jackson, of Everett. He was also the son of the late, Luther “Sonny” Jackson. He is the dear brother of, Luther Jackson of Revere, Trenace Jackson, Robert Jackson, & Norma Jackson all of Everett, Robin Jackson of Malden, Yvette Jackson of Worcester, & the late Rose Jackson. He is also lovingly survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment is private.

Gravallese, who died following a long & valiant battle with pulmonary disease at Eastpointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Chelsea on Friday, April 26th, at 65 years. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Born & raised in East Boston, he lived there his entire life. He was a 1965 alumnus of East Boston High School. Richard was forced to assume early retirement due to his long-standing battle with pulmonary disease. For the past three years, he was confined to the Eastpointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. His working career was spent as an administrator at Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Boston & later at Garber Travel. He is the beloved son of the late, John M. & Camille (Casella) Gravallese, & the loving husband of the late Paula (Palazzolo). He is the Devoted Father of Alycia T. Gravallese of East Boston. He is the Dear Brother to: John F. Gravallese of Wakefield, & Mary Stefano & her husband, Frederick, of Winthrop. He is also lovingly survived by Stephanie Raftery & her husband, Michael, & their children, Stephen & Ryan Raftery, all of Middleton. He is the faithful uncle to: John Gravallese & his wife, Deborah, of North Reading, Steven Gravallese & his wife, Cheryl, of Middleton, Lisa Stefano of Winthrop, & Jennifer Becker & her husband, Brian, of Pelham, NH. Gordon R. Caton

Caton, who died following a brief illness on Friday, April 26th at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, at 88 years. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Born in Boston, Mr. Caton lived in Revere most of his life, before moving to Wakefield 25 years ago. He entered the United States Coast Guard in October of 1942 & served until October of 1945 as a Seaman 1st Class. He worked his entire career with the International Union of Pipe-fitters & Installers, Local #550. He retired at age 65 years. He is a long-time member & supporter of the Revere Patriots’ Club. He is the husband of the late Anna M. (Connelly) Caton, who died in November of 1975. He is the Devoted father of, William G. Caton & his wife, Phyllis, of Wakefield, Kathleen Lepore & her husband, John, of Derry, NH, & the late John R. Caton. He is also lovingly survived by his daughter-in-law, Theresa Caton of Wakefield, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Mary L. (Griggers) Jensen

(Griggers) Jensen, aka Mary L. Cutillo, who died following a long illness at Hammersmith House of Saugus on Thursday, April 25, at 84 years. Born & raised in Selma, Alabama, she attended school there & came to live in Revere over 70 years ago. Most of her working career was spent in food service, namely the Revere IHOP Restaurant for over 20 years, where she was a very popular personality, as a hostess & a waitress. Later & until her retirement, she worked at Stop & Shop for nearly 16 years in food service. Mary always loved her work, especially working & meeting people. She formed friendships that have lasted until her death. As a young bride here in Revere, her mother-in-law, Philomena “Ma” Cutillo, took her under her wing. There she piqued as a “top” Italian chef & homemaker. She & her late mother-in-law enjoyed a close & unique relationship. She is the beloved wife of over 40 years to Paul M. Jensen, & the late Frank Cutillo, Sr. She is the devoted mother of: Carolyn Catinazzo & her husband, Nicholas R. Catinazzo, the Director of the Revere Board of Health, & John D. Cutillo, all of Revere, Linda E. Shaughnessy & her husband, Richard, of Millbury, MA, Frank “Chuckie” Cutillo, Jr. of California, & Robert Cutillo & his wife, Christine, of Georgia. She is also lovingly survived by her 6 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren, her sister-in-law Betty Ponder of Louisiana, & many nieces & nephews. Born & raised in Salem, MA, he attended Salem schools & entered the United States Coast Guard in January of 1942, serving until September of 1945. Hector spent all of his life as a commercial truck driver, working mostly for Local #25 of which he was a long-time member. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #61 of Revere. He has been a Revere resident for over 60 years. He is the beloved husband of 68 years to Elizabeth A. “Lee” (Scarpetti) Jalbert. He is the devoted father of, Leslie A. Parechanian & her husband Dale F. of Revere, & the late, Sharon E. DeRenne. He is also the cherished Grandfather of, Kristen A. DeRenne-Travelo & her husband George M. of Reading, & Janelle M. & Justin M. Parechanian both of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by his great-granddaughters, Maddison R. & Autumn L. Bennington, Sr., who died on Wednesday, April 24th at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, Chelsea, following a long illness, at 84 years. He was born & raised in Plainville, Indiana, lived there until joining the United States Navy in October of 1947 – September of 1951, & was discharged as a Radioman – 2nd Class. He is a Navy Veteran of Korea. He lived in Brockton & the Cape area, particularly Bourne, MA, until moving to Revere nine years ago. He was a member of the American Legion Post #35 of Bourne, MA & American Legion Post #188 of Brockton. He also belonged to the Marconi Club. Most of his working career was as an Electrical Design Engineer, working for himself. He is the beloved husband of the late Thelma (LaRoche) Bennington who died in July of 1971 & the late Emma (Principe) who died in May of 1999. He is the Devoted Father of: Margaret “Peggy” Hathaway of Revere, Michael J. Bennington & his wife Cesidia of Newton, James W. Bennington & his wife Karen of Malden, Terry A. Waterman of Belmont, New Hampshire, & the late, Donald F. Bennington, Jr., who died in March of 1996. Marino, who died on Saturday, April 20th following a valiant struggle with breast cancer, at 92 years. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the St. Joseph/St. Lazarus Church, Orient Heights, East Boston, follwed by interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Chestnut Hill, MA. Born & raised in East Boston, she was a 1938 alumna of East Boston High School. She began working for the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston in 1944, & served the bank until 1988 when she retired. A devotee of her Catholic faith, she attended mass daily, almost all of her life. In the last 2 years, she was unable because of failing health. Often she would attend mass at Don Orione Nursing Center & then remain there to volunteer with the needs of the residents. She was the daughter of the late Samuel & Louise (Lovett) Marino. She is the devoted sister to John F. Marino & his wife Alida G. (Campatelli) Marino of Wakefield, & the late James Marino. She was the aunt of the late John A. Marino. She is the cherished Grand-Aunt of Nicholas J. Marino of Newton. Also lovingly survived by her cousin, Joseph Krebs of Peabody. Graveside services will be held in Media, Pennsylvania, for 20-year East Boston resident, Joseph A. Henry, sometime in the very near weeks. Mr. Henry died on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 following a valiant battle with Lymphoma, at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, at 70 years. Born & raised in Media, Pennsylvania, he came to live in East Boston twenty years ago. For over 10 years, he worked within the drug rehabilitation programs, both privately & municipally as a substance abuse counselor, & for a lengthy time was on staff at “The Victory Program” of Dorchester. He is lovingly survived by his devoted companion of 19 years, Christine A. Murphy, with whom he made his home. He is the beloved father of, Saundra L. Murphy of Revere, Derrell Bishop & her husband Edward, & Joseph Henry all of Mantua, New Jersey, & George Henry of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by his former wife, Virginia (Carter) Henry of Claymont, Delaware, several Grandchildren, & several Great-Grandchildren. She is also the dear Sister to, Arthur T. Alexander, Jr. of Newburyport, & Tracey Keefe & her husband Edmund of Bakersfield, CA. She is also lovingly survived by her 2 nieces & 3 nephews.
