Antoinette (Lehmann) Barry
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Antoinette “Toni” (Lehmann) Barry, who died at her Saugus home on Sunday, September 30th following a long illness, at 83 years. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, October 4th at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere, at 11 a.m. Mrs. Barry was born & raised in Revere, & was a 1947 alumna of Revere High School. From 1960 – 1990, she owned & operated “Antoinette Barry Dance Studio” on Pleasant St., Revere. Several thousand children, from the area, learned how to dance & perform. She was a legend in her recital performances. “Toni” did it all, managed the school, instructed the lessons, & taught them, the rudiments of acting, & presentation. Many of her former students went onto careers in the theatre & on stage. Concurrently, with her dance school & raising her nine children, she was a distributor & consultant for “Mary K.” Cosmetics, for many years. Her time with “Mary K.” earned her the moniker, “The Mary-Kay Lady.” While her children were attending Immaculate Conception Grammar & High School, she was most active in the Immaculata Guild, & served as President. Besides her beloved husband of 63 years, Lawrence W. Barry, she is the devoted mother of: William L. Barry of Saugus, Andrew J. Barry & his wife, Donna of Franklin, MA, Stephen F. Barry & his wife, Marilyn of Melrose, Laureen B. Reardon of Lynnfield, Lawrence P. Barry & his wife, Lisa of Methuen, Christopher J. Barry & his wife, Jacqueline of Saugus, Annette Barry Cowhig of Newbury, MA, Matthew M. Barry of Saugus & Patrick N. Barry & his wife, Kiersten of Norwood. She is the Cherished grandmother of, Andrew, Alex, Evan, Kimberly, Katie, Shauna, Kristen & Joseph Barry, Makena & Terence Reardon & Devin Cowhig. Toni & Larry lived in Revere all of their lives, before moving to Saugus in 1996 (16 years ago). Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. John F. Mastone
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, October 1st, 2012 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere for John F. Mastone, who died on Friday, September 28th, unexpectedly following a 17-day illness at Lahey Clinic of Burlington, MA, at 71 years. The funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 2nd at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 10 a.m. Mr. Mastone was born in Stoneham & was raised in Everett, attended Everett Schools & is a 1959 alumnus of St. Mary’s High School of Lynn. He was most proud of his time at St. Mary’s & was an outstanding athlete & student. He played baseball & football in high School & also played baseball for the Everett American Legion. His ability & technique was so outstanding, that he went on to play for the National Organization of the American Legion. He remained an avid sportsman & sports fan. All of his working career was spent in the construction industry. He worked for many of the local long-established firms, such as Pierini Const., Turner Construction, etc. He mainly was involved as a Project Manager on large industrial projects, often traveling around the country. On January 31st, 2012, he retired from the NASDI Corp., as a project manager & Vice-President. He is the beloved husband of 23 years to Donna (McChristian) Mastone. He is the Devoted brother of Francis R. Mastone & his wife, Donna of Fairfax, Virginia. He is the Dear Step-Father of Robert Jansen & his wife, Deanna & also leaves his mother-in-law, Elaine E. McChristian, his grandchildren, Robert, Brittany & Andrew Jansen, all of Miami, Florida, & several nieces & nephews. Interment will be in the family lot at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, with his dear parents, the late, John F. & Marie C. (Pattelena) Mastone.

She retired as the “first female” security guard at Boston’s Prudential Center. Prior to that position, Jean worked for over 20 years at New England Coffee, Boston. Jean’s first love was her faith, followed by her devotion to family, relatives & friends. She always held an unusually positive attitude in the face of adversity. She was the wife of the late Joseph Russo, who died in April of 2000. She is the devoted mother of, Philip J. Russo & his wife, Rita (Piantedosi) Russo, & the cherished grandmother of, Philip J. Russo, Jr. & his fiance, Lisa Longo, & Desiree M. Bender & her husband, Matthew B. Bender & the adoring Great-Grandmother of Matthew B. Bender, Jr., all of Revere. Ernest M. Rizzo, Sr.

Rizzo, Sr., who died following a brief illness at Beverly Hospital, Beverly on Saturday, September 22nd, at 94 years. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, September 25th at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Born & raised in Revere, he attended Revere schools & was a 1936 alumnus of Revere High School. In November of 1942, he entered the United States Army & served until December of 1945 with the rank of Technician-4th Grade. He is a World War II Veteran. Ernie was a long-time member of the V.F.W. Mottollo Post #4524. Ernie opened his first Pizza Shop & Take-out Service in Dorchester, which he ran until 1968. He then opened “Ernie’s Pizza & Take-Out-Service” on Mountain Ave., Revere, until 1980. His beloved wife of 70 years, Margaret (Nazzaro) worked along side, cooking, servicing customers & maintaining the shop, as well as his 2 children. Besides his wife, he is the devoted father of Ernest M. Rizzo, Jr. of Salem, New Hampshire & Judith A. Correggio & her husband, Richard P. Correggio of Revere. He is the Dear brother of Tina Turiello of Saugus & the late, Michael Rizzo & the late Catherine Lombardo. He is the cherished Grandfather to: Gina M. Correggio-Regitano & her husband, Richard of Lynnfield & Nicholas R. Correggio & his fiancee, Roseanna Grieco of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by his two great-grandchildren, Adriana M. & Marco F. Regitano, & many nieces & nephews. He & his brother, David, owned & operated, “Salon Changes” on School St., Revere, for ten years. He was the son of the late, Stanley & Maria (Amari) Pignone. He is the beloved brother of Victoria A. Grasso of Revere & David R. Pignone, Sr. & his wife, Linda of Hampstead, NH. He is the loving uncle to: Lori E. Chiaradonna, Jr. of Peabody who died unexpectedly, at 50 years, following a long 12-year battle with brain injury sustained in an auto accident. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, September 21st at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral service in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Born in Revere, he was raised & schooled in Chelsea, & was an alumnus of Chelsea High School, Class of 1980. During his high school years at Chelsea High, he was captain of the Football Team & always maintained a heightened interest in the game in spite of the tragic accident he sustained. He is the beloved husband of Mary A. (Flynn) for over 25 years. They moved to Peabody 23 years ago. John owned & operated JC Fence Co., of Chelsea & Peabody for about 10 years, until a tragic auto accident, 12 years ago, ended his working career. He miraculously survived the auto accident, sustaining substantial brain injury. The last 12 years have been a very long & difficult battle with surgeries, therapies, etc. He is the Devoted father of: Matthew J. Chiaradonna & his wife, Natalia of Middleton, MA, Amanda M. Chiaradonna & her fiance, Wade A. Johnson of Ipswich, MA, & Alyssa G. Jackson & her husband, Thomas of Peabody, MA. Adored son of Retired Chelsea Firefighter, John H. Chiaradonna & the late, June R. (Davey) Chiaradonna. He is the dear brother of: Cheryl L. Dale & her husband, Christopher of Derry, NH, Mary K. Ramsey & her husband, Michael of Epsom, NH. James J. Murphy
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway, Revere, for James J. Murphy, who died unexpectedly at Colonial Poplin Way of Fremont, NH on Saturday, September 15th, at 92 years. The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Born & raised in Revere, he was a 1937 alumnus of Revere High School. In January of 1942, he began his United States Navy career, serving in Naples, Italy, and was discharged February 9, 1947 at the Chelsea Naval Hospital, Chelsea, MA for injuries sustained during his service. He is a World War II Veteran, & he was the recipient of the Purple Heart & the Good Conduct Medal. After the war, he returned home & married Agnes M. (Dillon). They enjoyed a “love story” romance & life together, for 64 years, ending with her death in June of 2011. The couple were world travelers & often took along their nieces & nephews on extended trips. Their generosity is legendary. Jim opened & operated for over 40 years, The Murphy Insurance Agency on Beach St., Revere. The couple retired in the late 1980’s. He was the son of the late Ambrose J. & Mary E. “Mabel” (Foley) Murphy. He was also the Brother of the late, Fred Murphy, Sr., Mabel O’Donnell, Ambrose “Terry” & John Murphy & Grace Callina. He is the beloved uncle to: Paul Callina, Jr. & his wife, Patricia & Mary Ann Nicosia & her husband, Jack, all of Raymond, NH, Fred Murphy, Jr. of California, Timothy Murphy & Deborah Murphy Carpenter both of Florida. Also lovingly survived by his four grand-nephews, Jamison Nicosia of MA, Thomas Nicosia of NH, Justin & Martin Callina both of CA. Both Jim & Agnes were devotees of Immaculate Conception Parish Family & the former St. Theresa’s Parish of Revere. A little known fact about the Murphy’s, was their unfledging support of St. Theresa’s Church. For many years, the oil bill was a constant concern of our beloved late Father O’Leary & Father Gaudette. Jim & Agnes were always there with an unusually extraordinary gift to help keep the “fires burning.” In Revere, as the years have rolled by, the beneficence of many an old Revere family were hallmark to the goodness, kindness & often, anonymous generosity these folks were made of. May they all enjoy the special reward they worked & lived for, in a share of the “eternal life.” Amen and Amen and Alleluia!

Dorothy E. (Ranson) Clark
Services have been conducted for Dorothy E. (Ranson) Clark, who died on Saturday, September 15th, 2012 at her Melrose home, unexpectedly, at 88 years. Services were held in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals of Revere, followed by interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody. Born, raised & schooled in Melrose, she did live in Chelsea for over 15 years, before returning to Melrose. She was the wife of the late, Vincent P. Clark, Sr., who passed in November of 1980. She is the Devoted mother of Vincent P. Clark, Jr. & his wife, Rita, & Donna M. James, all of Chelsea. She is the cherished grandmother of Dennis P. James, Jr. & his wife, Pamela of Laconia, NH & is also lovingly survived by her three great-grandchildren, Antonia, Kianna & Jaden James all of Laconia, NH. Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity. Dorothy was an unusually energetic woman, who enjoyed maintaining her home, going out shopping & dancing.
Ralph J. Petrosino
Services & interment were held at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals of Revere, MA, for Ralph J. Petrosino, who died on Friday, September 14th, 2012 at University Hospital of Tamarac, Florida, following a long illness. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA. Born & Raised in Chelsea, he attended Chelsea Schools, & was a 1936 alumnus of Chelsea High School. He entered the service, serving with the United States Army, in November of 1944 & served until November of 1945. He is a veteran of World War II. Before entering the service, he was the manager of the Petrosino Grocery Store of Chelsea, from October 1934 – October 1944, then upon returning from his service time in WW II, he worked for over 20 years for General Electric Co. of Lynn as an expert welder. He also owned & operated his own Meat Packing Co., known as Pioneer Meat Packing Co., after working for Pilgrim Meat Packing Co. of Boston’s North End. He was the husband of the late Marguerite C. (Vogel) Petrosino who died in September of 1987. For the past 35 years, he wintered in Florida & lived in Revere & Saugus, before moving permanently to Florida in 2007. He is the Devoted father of Ralph A. Petrosino of Weston, Florida & Donna M. Memont of Saugus. He was the devoted grandfather of 7. Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.
