Joseph M. Giugliano
Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Service Wednesday, July 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the New Hope Assembly of God Church, 9 Assembly Dr., Saugus, for Joseph M. “Joey” Giugliano, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 18th, at his home in East Boston, he was 44 years old. Interment will immediately follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Joey was a lifelong resident of East Boston. He was educated in Boston Public Schools and was an Alumnus of East Boston High School, Class of 1995. Joey worked in construction, in which he specialized in roofing, water and sewer, curbing & sidewalks. During his working career Joey worked for several well-known construction companies. During the few years while he worked for his uncle Sal at Giugliano Corp., he was chosen to be an extra in the movie Mystic River, he also worked on set for the movie Mystic River. Joey was also very proud of his daughter & son. He loved them unconditionally and always wanted to see them succeed & follow their dreams.
He is the loving & proud father of Aliseya Bella Giugliano & Joe Bello Giugliano, both of East Boston. Beloved son of Claudia (DiGirolamo) Giugliano & the late Federico “Jerry” Giugliano of East Boston. Cherished brother of Federico “Freddy”, Anthony, Jerry “Jay”, & Antonietta Giugliano, all of East Boston. Dear nephew of Giuseppe Giugliano & his late wife Alfonsina of Boxford, Salvatore Giugliano & his wife Gilfroia “Jill” of Lynnfield, Barbara DiGirolamo & the late Dora Ragucci. Special uncle of Bryan, Mckayla, Danny, Anthony, Joann, & Josslyn.

Mary Louise (DePaolo) Abbatessa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 16th, 2022. She is survived by the love of her life Michael A. Abbatessa Sr. her children and partners, Michele and Randy; Michael Jr. and Carol; Mark and Carlene; Matthew and Chelsea; Mitchell and Stacey. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Derek and Emily (parents of great grandchildren: Leo, Maximilian, John-Paul, Vincent), Colin and fiancee Elana, Samantha, Conor, Jacob, Brett, Luke, Cali, Maci. She was an avid reader and editor, especially for her brother Patrick. She was a cub scout den leader, President of the Bishop Fenwick Pigskin Club, President of Peabody High Booster Club, President of Lodge 2057 mixed Sons of Italy, Charity Commissioner for the Mass Sons of Italy, Deputy to the Women’s Peabody Sons of Italy lodge, a Eucharistic Minister for St. Ann’s Parish of which she had been a member for 55 years. She was a regular volunteer for My Brothers Table, church bazaars, bingo nights, numerous Columbus day parades, and North End nursing homes and Don Orione Nursing Home Christmas parties. Mary Lou was everybody’s cheerleader, her home was considered a safe house and everyone was always welcome especially during holidays. She always advised her younger brothers, Patrick, John, and Robert, wisely. They looked up to her for guidance and advice. She was a true friend to many and always had a smile on her face and a joke to tell. She was an avid Boston sports fan. What brought her joy and filled her heart most of all was attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, where she was known for saying the Rosary and cheering the loudest. She will be missed by many and ever present in everyone’s hearts.

Claire was born in Winthrop and was the daughter of Alfred Delano Mainero & Claire Theresa (Saurino) Mainero. She was raised & educated in Revere and was an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1980. She worked in her early years, until she became a mother. She was truly devoted & loving to her son Justin who she loved more than life itself. She had a great love for her siblings, nieces & nephews as well. Claire loved all types of candy, especially the “Old Fashioned” penny candies. She was an avid movie buff and thoroughly enjoyed watching movies and television. Claire also enjoyed taking walks and she loved to laugh. Anyone who knew her, knew that she had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor accompanied with an infectious laugh.
She is the loving & proud mother of Justin B. Lepore of Saugus. Devoted daughter of Alfred Delano Mainero & his wife Elizabeth of Saugus & the late Theresa (Saurino) Mainero. Cherished sister of Maryann Giorgio & her husband Albert L., Jr. of Revere, Michele Polsonetti & husband Michael of Revere & Roseann Jaworski & husband Robert of Newton, New Hampshire. She is also lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

Glen M. “Sully” Sullivan
Funeral Services & Interment were held on Friday, June 17th in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway, Revere for Glen M. Sullivan, who died on Saturday, June 11th at the Massachusetts General Hospital from a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, he was 62 years old.
Glen was a lifelong East Boston resident. He was educated in Boston Public Schools. He was the son of the late Louis J. Sullivan & Rita A. (Mazzarella) Sullivan. Most of his working career was spent as a Union Laborer, Local #22 in Boston.
He is the cherished brother of Coleen A. Pino of Revere, formerly of East Boston & her late husband Martin “Marty” Pino & the late Audrey M. Fisher & her surviving husband Robert L. Fisher of Winthrop & the late Kevin P. Sullivan & Barry L. Sullivan. Loving uncle of Anthony Pino and his wife Lauren of Manchester, New Hampshire, Martin Pino and his wife Molly of Revere, Robert L. Fisher & Zachary S. Fisher, both of Winthrop. Granduncle of Laila Rose, Dominic, Maggie Jo, Millie, Marty & Max. He is also lovingly survived by many cousins & friends.

Dorothy M. Tillinghast

Dorothy graduated from St. Rose Catholic School in Chelsea, and immediately went to work for the President at Chelsea Clock. She left there after becoming a wife and mother. She enjoyed ceramics, loved to travel and was on a bowling league. Dorothy enjoyed and looked forward to a weekly card game with five of her childhood friends spanning over 65 years.
She is the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Tillinghast. Devoted mother of Kenneth Tillinghast and his wife Deborah, Russell Tillinghast and his wife Rose, Michael Tillinghast and his life companion Barbara Dillon, and Susan Tillinghast. Dear sister to the late Edward Arsenault and Ernest Arsenault. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Dolly Badolato, 92, of Revere, passed away on Tuesday, June 7th at home, surrounded by family, following a lengthy illness. Dolly was born in Somerville and raised in Revere, where she met the love of her life, Gregory Badolato. They were married on September 3, 1949; a marriage that lasted nearly 70 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved her family unconditionally and cherished spending time with her 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Dolly loved to cook for her family and friends. Her cookies, pies, and pizzagaina were legendary. Dolly was the true definition of a matriarch; she was the center of her family. Dolly will always be remembered as being generous, kind, and loving to all.
She is the devoted wife of the late Gregory Badolato. The loving mother of Frank G. Badolato & his companion Jeanette Schneider of Florence, AZ., John M. Badolato, Sr. & his wife Denise M. of Tewksbury, Denise A. Ferrara of Wakefield, Doreen M. Gordon & her husband Matthew of Lynnfield, and the late Deborah M. Badolato. The cherished and proud grandmother of Christopher Badolato, Melissa Civilik & her husband Peter, Kristina Carroll, Diana Miner & her husband Donald, Tiffany Stec & her husband Ryan, Tiana Badolato, Ronald Ferrara, Jr., Risa Ferrara & her husband Robert Brown, Denise Levey & her husband Mitchell, Myla Gordon & her fiancé D.J. Zinetti, Matthew Gordon & his wife Sarah, Kyle Gordon & his wife Whitney, and the late John M. Badolato, Jr., and the late Toni Ann DiNanno. Patricia “Patty” Ann (Kashian) Willis, 75, of Saugus, MA passed away on June 7, 2022 after a long, valiant battle with breast cancer. Her devotion to her family supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Devoted daughter of the late Jack & Christine (Abbate) Kashian. Loving wife of 56 years to Wayne C. Willis and beloved mother to Cheryl A. Willis and Erika M. Abruzzese-Bagley & husband David J. Bagley all of Saugus. Cherished grandmother of Nicholas W. Abruzzese of Saugus. Dear sister of Helen Hanlon & husband Kenneth Hanlon of Middleton, Karen Pizzi & husband Stephen of Revere and the late Jacqueline King who recently passed on June 2, 2022 & her husband Donald E. King, Jr. of Middleton. She is also lovingly survived by aunts, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
Patty was one of a kind. She was the most loving, selfless and compassionate person who had dedicated her life to her family and always put them first. Although she fought a long and hard battle with cancer for many years, Patty would continue to find joy cooking delicious meals every night and spending time with her loved ones. She would spend many hours on the phone with her three sisters, as well as taking trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods with them and her brother in-laws. She loved each and every one of her many nieces and nephews and each one of them held a dear spot in her heart. Most of all, Patty loved her two daughters and her twelve year old grandson more than anything in this world. She spent countless days attending to her eldest daughters care and at the same time was always there for her youngest daughter and grandson. It was important to her that her family was always happy, even if it meant sacrificing her own happiness. She was more than just a mom to her daughters; she was their best friend, confidant and role model. Patty got the most joy watching her grandsons’ baseball games, spending time cooking with him and watching their favorite shows. Her delicious recipes will be cherished for many years to come. Patty will forever be deeply missed here on Earth, but we take great comfort knowing that she will always be with us in spirit. Her courage and strength will always be admired by all who were blessed to have known her.

John J. Marco

Marco who died peacefully with his wife his devoted wife by his side on Sunday, June 5th at the Saugus Center Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, following a long illness, he was 86 years old. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
John was born in Boston to his late parents, John & Virginia Marco. John was raised & educated in Charlestown. He was an alumnus of Charlestown High School, where he also played varsity football, Class of 1954. Following graduation, John enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country for three years during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on October 11, 1957. John began to work for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Department of Cooperative Taxation. He worked there for several years, while awaiting a “Letter Carrier” position from the United States Postal Service in the Financial District in Boston. John happily worked as a letter carrier, a job that really began to shape & change his life for the better. While he was delivering mail, he met the love of his life, Angelina Ragucci. She worked at a bank that was on his route, John would then take this beautiful woman out and they fell in love and were married on February 22, 1963. Both John & Angelina made their home in Revere for over 40 years. John was a very outgoing man and had a tremendous gift to talk with people but more importantly to listen to them as well. He was elected & became the National Business Agent of New England for the US Postal Service. This position, John took with great pride and honor. He was all about workers rights and benefits. This position allowed John to travel the United States for meetings & conventions, which he would have his wife along with him. When John retired, he had provided a total of 35 years of service to the United States Postal Service. He was most proud of his tenure as National Business Agent. John was an avid Patriots fan as well as a season ticket holder. He was a former member of the Revere Lodge Loyal Order of Moose #1272 and the Revere Rotary Club #2755.
John is the devoted & loving husband of 59 years to Angelina R. (Ragucci) Marco of Revere. Dear brother of Joseph Marco & wife Jeannette of Brookline. The cherished brother-in-law of Carmine Ragucci & his late wife Maria of ME, Theresa Sabbio & husband Frank of FL, John Ragucci & wife Ann of FL, Robert S. Ragucci & wife Cristina of Lynn & the late Geraldine Romano & her former husband Leo Romano of FL. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. John also leaves behind many dear friends & respected colleagues.

Charles Shishmanian
Charles Shishmanian, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 4th at his home in Louisville, KY. Charles was born April 15, 1928, in Winthrop, MA. He was the son of the late Jack and Agnes Shishmanian. Charles grew up in Revere, MA and graduated Revere High School in 1946 where he played football. He enlisted in the Navy and served two years as a medic. Charles graduated from McLean Hospital School of Nursing, obtained a BS in Nursing from Boston College, and received a M.Ed. in Rehabilitation from Springfield College. He was Nurse Administrator at the Armenian Nursing Home and worked for the MA Department of Public Health for 35 years as a surveyor of healthcare facilities and nursing homes. In 1953, Charlie married the love of his life Eunice M. Ferjulian and God blessed their harmonious marriage for 69 years. Charles had strong Christian beliefs and values and a deep faith in God and in the essential goodness of man as a creature of God. He cherished his family and friends who graced his home and was sociable and outgoing to others. He was a member of the Newton Highlands Congregational Church where he sang in the choir and served on several committees. Charles was a Mason and Shriner for 61 years. He volunteered at the local Boy Scout Troop and the YMCA. He shared a love for sports, fishing and music. He faithfully followed the Patriots and the Red Sox. Charles, formerly of Newton Highlands, MA, spent many years traveling with his wife Eunice, spending winters in Barbados and summers on Cape Cod.
He was the devoted husband of Eunice M. (Ferjulian) Shishmanian. The loving father of Ara Shishmanian (Terry), Greg Shishmanian (Nhan), and Carl Shishmanian (Lisa). He was the dear and caring brother of Anita Shishmanian (Dan Brooks) and the late Elizabeth Rollins (Raymond). The cherished Papa of Beth Kincaid (Chris), Danielle, Tara, Katherine, Jennifer, and his great-grandson Preston Shishmanian.

Paul D. Bruce, Sr.

Bruce, Sr. who passed in the presence of his loving family on Thursday, May 19th at the Melrose – Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following a long illness, he was 83 years old. Paul was a native of Everett, where was born to the late David & Mary (Powers) Bruce and he was one of nine children. Paul was educated in Everett Public Schools and was an alumnus of Everett High School, Class of 1957. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 6 years. Paul married his one true love Marie (DiNanno) on May 20th, 1961. The couple remained in Everett where they began their life together. They had two sons, Paul, Jr. & Matthew. In 1970, they moved to Melrose, where they remained. Paul began his career as a Private Investigator & then later in Auto Recovery, Associated Reporting Systems, Inc. in 1978. Paul later retired and his son owns & operates the business today. Paul was a dedicated family man & devoted husband. He and his wife, Marie had a truly beautiful marriage & relationship. They were not only husband & wife but best friends. Paul will forever be remembered as a kind & generous man who was always willing to help someone in any way he could. He had a big heart and always wanted to see the good in people and see them better themselves. Paul lived his life with honor, integrity & respect, every day he demonstrated these character traits. His love for his family was constant and he was incredibly proud of them.
He is the loving husband of Marie G. (DiNanno) Bruce of Melrose. Cherished father of Paul Bruce, Jr. & Matthew S. Bruce. Treasured grandfather of Paul R. Bruce & his wife Jacqueline, Anthony J. Bruce & his wife Olivia & Victoria E. Bruce. He is the adored great grandfather of Riley, Aiden & Morgan. Dear brother of Joan MacLean, David J. Bruce, Richard Bruce and the late Edward Bruce, Alice Hill, Harold Bruce, Catherine Cordaro & John “Jack” Bruce. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grand nephews.
