Tom was a 36-year member and Honorary Lifetime Member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks, serving as Exalted Ruler from 1979-1980. He was also Treasurer of the organization for 31 years. Former Member of the MA Army National Guard.

Adam Joshua “A$tacks” Rodriguez

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, October 9th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere, for Adam Joshua Rodriguez, who died on Saturday, October 3rd at the Boston Medical Center in Boston, following multiple injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident, he was 20 years old. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, October 10th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Due to the ongoing pandemic strict protocols are in effect. Masks must be worn at all times in the funeral home, church & cemetery. Social distancing must be maintained and capacity limits are in effect. Visitors to the funeral home are asked to visit briefly with the family and exit to allow others to enter the funeral home. A limit of 25 people at at time will be be strictly enforced throughout the visitation. Church capacity is limited to 40% of total capacity.

Adam was born in Boston, raised & educated in Revere. He was a proud alumnus of Seacoast Academy, Class of 2018. He worked at the ABM Cleaning Company as a janitor. He had a deep love for his family & all of his friends. He will be missed dearly as he was always known as a “Good Kid”.

He is the cherished son of Manuel D. Rodriguez of Revere & Zoraida Morales of Clinton. Adored brother of Mauricio Rodriguez of El Salvador, Zuleyma Rodriguez of Revere, Manuel E. Rodriguez of Revere, Alex J. Rodriguez, his twin brother of Clinton & Michael I. Rodriguez of Revere. Beloved companion of Estefafia Velasquez of Winthrop. Treasured uncle of Jowell, Aaliyah, Camden, JuJu & Manuel, Jr. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

Alice Marie (Manning) Schmitt

Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, October 6th, for Alice M. (Manning) Schmitt, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE, who passed unexpectedly on Friday, October 2nd at Mount Auburn Hospital of Cambridge. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, October 7th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. and Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 11:00 a.m. and immediately followed with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Masks must be worn, and social distancing maintained at all times.

Born in Winthrop, she was raised and educated in Revere & was a 1951 Alumna of Immaculate Conception High School of Revere. As a young lady, she became most active in the Immaculate Conception Parish Community. She belonged to many of ICC’s fund-raising endeavors for the new convent built in the 1960s and was also a member and supporter of the Immaculata Guild. Through her late mother’s involvement with the Catholic Daughters of America (CDA), Alice would become not only a member but took the reigns to become the Regent of the CDA-Court James Lee at ICC. Also, on a national level, she was appointed District Deputy of the Catholic Daughters, a post she held for 10 years. Alice Marie’s energy and devotion to the Church was enviable in that she never tired, i.e., no task too great or too menial that she could not tackle. Along with her CDA responsibilities, she was a Past President and member of the Revere Woman’s Club for many years. She also held the presidency for the Parents’ Guild at Regis College for several years. Among her other interests, were the Mass Citizen’s for Life, another group to which Alice volunteers much time and effort. However, Alice would want to be remembered as an exemplary wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin & “best friend”. Alice’s late husband Edward T. Schmitt, Jr. who passed in March of 2004 was the proprietor and operator of the E.T. Schmitt Plumbing & Heating Corp. of Everett and Revere. Alice was the company accountant and bookkeeper until Eddie’s death.

She is the cherished mother of Anne Marie Schmitt of Revere & Eileen T. Perry & her husband Henry S. Perry & the adoring grandmother of Kathleen M. Perry & Colleen M. Perry, all of Wakefield. Devoted daughter to the late Joseph P. & Margaret E. (Howell) Manning & faithful sister to the late Rev. Joseph H. Manning & the late William J. Manning, USAF.

Nancy G. (Higgins) Bonita

Funeral Services were held privately for Nancy G. (Higgins) Bonita, who passed unexpectedly on September 30th. She was 58 years old.

Nancy was born and raised in Dorchester and attended local schools there. After graduating from high school, she went on to continue her education attending Northeastern University studying Child Development. She worked for a several years at Northeastern and later went to work in property management, a career she held for many years. Nancy had an amazing heart and soul and would easily make friends wherever she went. She had a way about her that would make everyone laugh and smile and she had the ability to lighten up the moment even in the most troubling of times. She was a dedicated friend to many and could always be counted on; if you ever needed to remember a number or a specific date in time, you always knew you could ask her. She adored animals, especially her feline companion, Peppa. Nancy enjoyed dancing and she loved the ocean and as a result she spent many years living close to the beach.

She is the beloved mother of Lauren J. Gigliello & her husband Justin of Ormond Beach, Florida & cherished grandmother of Lyla. Devoted daughter of Catherine M. Higgins of Lynn & James Higgins & adored granddaughter of the late Josephine Lombardo & Peter Lombardo. She is also lovingly survived by her feline companion, Peppa & many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Melchionda & wife Janet R. of Chelmsford, Florence Grieco of Dracut, Mary-Frances LaBrecque & her husband Dennis of Salem, NH & Alfred J. Melchionda & his wife Nancy of Amesbury. Dear sister of the late Leo, Charles, Frank, Andrew, Rudolph & Joseph Falanga & Frances Alberti. Also lovingly survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren & many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

However, family & friends are invited to attend a public Graveside Service at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St, EVERETT on Tuesday, September 29th at 2:00 p.m., immediately followed with the interment.

Thomas W. Santiano

Family & friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Thursday, October 1st at 12:45 p.m., at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, for Thomas William Santiano, who passed on Tuesday, September 22nd at his residence in Orient Heights, East Boston. He was 96 years old.

Born and raised in East Boston, he was a 1942 alumnus of the High School of Commerce in Boston. “Tommy” entered the U.S. Navy in October of 1942 and served through January of 1946. At that time, he became working for the Boston Housing Authority. A true patriot & a defender of all things U.S.A., he re-entered the Navy at the time of the Korean Conflict & served another 3 years. Throughout his working career, he worked in the field of construction and industrial arts. He worked for over 25 years with the Pierni Corp. of Framingham as a lead laborer and foreman. He was an avid rock and precious metals collector & was a longtime member of the North Shore Rock & Mineral Club. His collection is vast and bares proof of many hours and years of avid searches throughout National Parks, local parks and forests. He enjoyed family outings and gatherings & the conversation they provoked.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth A. (Kelly) Santiano, who passed in January of 2010. He was the devoted son to the late Michael J. & Madeline G. (Nealon) Santiano & the dear brother to the late Louis R. Santiano, the late Michael J. Santiano, Jr. & the late Lawrence F. Santiano. He is the cherished father to Mary F. McIntosh of Madison, NH & the proud grandfather to Paul W. Dunn & his wife Dolores of Sutton, MA & Brian D. Dunn & his wife Linda of Marshfield, MA. He is also lovingly survived by his sister-in-law Phyllis E. Santiano of Saugus, his 3 great grandchildren, Tristan E. Dunn of Sutton, MA, Tyler W. Dunn & Rachael C. Dunn, both of Marshfield. He is also lovingly survived by his niece, Michelle Santiano, with whom he made his home, her son, Antonio Santiano, his daughter, Adriana Santiano, all of Orient Heights, East Boston. He is the special uncle to Maureen D. Santiano, Rose Sarro, Robert J. Santiano & his wife Anne, all of Saugus & the late Richard L. Santiano and the late Michael J. Santiano, III. His extended family includes Montana S. Santiano of Saugus, Michael A. Santiano of Haverhill, Maryanne Santiano of East Boson & Julie E. Santiano of Revere. Many caring cousins also survive “Tommy”.

Timothy R. Countie

Tim was a proud Revere native, who was born & raised in Revere & was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1976. During his time in high school, he was a Basketball standout. His size allowed him to be a dominant player for the high school during his 4 years there. His stature was intimidating but he was the quintessential “Gentle Giant”. His mild personality and good heart were known by all who knew him. For most of Tim’s working career, he worked as a courier, for himself. Tim was also seen frequently walking around the City of Revere with his pal, Schultzie. He will always be remembered as a friend that you could always rely on.

He is the beloved son of the late John J. Countie & Mary E. (Roberts) Countie. Loving & faithful longtime companion of the late Janet M. Sullivan. Dear brother of John T. Countie & his wife Karen of Merrimac, MA., Richard M. & his wife Ping of New Zealand, Edmund A. Countie of Lynn & Kerry S. Countie & wife Patricia of Londonderry, NH. He is also lovingly survived by several loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins & his late canine companion Shultzie.

Lifelong resident of Revere, on September 18th, at 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Stephen L. Smith. Loving mother of David Ventola & Stacey Ventola, both of Revere and Steven Ventola of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Lucille waitressed at the Union Oyster House of Boston for over 25 years. She had a love for the ocean and enjoyed Revere Beach and vacationing in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Carl W. “Sonny” Christie, Jr.

Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Monday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m., in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere for Carl W. “Sonny” Christie, Jr., who passed following a lengthy illness on Friday, September 11th at Boston’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Interment will be held privately. Due to the pandemic, visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Attendees are directed to report directly to St. Anthony’s Church and masks must be worn at church & social distancing maintained.

Born in Chelsea, he was a lifelong Revere resident & a member of the graduating Class of 1968 at Revere High School. Early on as a young man, while still a student at Revere High, he worked for the former Revere Memorial Hospital until the hospital closed. He would then begin a 15-year career with the former West Lynn Creamery as a Truck Driver. Carl “Sonny” never married & remained with his parents until their deaths. At that time, he made his home with his sister, Lee C. Nugent-Rorie.

“Sonny” is the beloved son of the late, Carl W. Christie, Sr. & the late Doris A. (Dolan) Christie. He is the cherished brother to Lee C. Nugent-Rorie & her husband, Dennis S. Rorie & Martin J. Christie & his wife Margaret, all of Revere, Doris A. Jaeger & her husband, Dennis & William C. Christie & his wife, Michelle, all of Cape Coral, Florida & the late Richard F. Christie. He is also lovingly survived by his sister-in-law, Doreen A. Christie of Revere, seven (7) faithful nieces & (4) four caring nephews & many grandnieces & grandnephews.
