Florence M. “Flo” (Clifford) Dixon
Funeral Services & Interment were held privately due to the COVID-19 Pandemic & restrictions for Florence M. “Flo” (Clifford) Dixon, who died suddenly on Friday, September 11th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, she was 84 years old. Interment was held in the Mt. Tabor Masonic Lot Section of Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Flo was a lifelong Revere resident. She was born, raised & educated in Revere Schools. Flo worked as a waitress at the Howard Johnson’s located at Northgate in Revere for several years. She was vibrant, witty & people loved her personality. She was married to the love of her life, James E. Dixon on July 6th, 1957 and the couple remained in Revere where they raised their three children. Flo was a dedicated mother & wife and she took great pride in her home & children. She was fastidious about how she maintained her home inside & out. She loved her role as Mom but loved being a grandmother even more. Family celebrations were always at Nana’s. For many years, Flo worked alongside her husband, managing the family business, Century Security Systems, Inc. of Revere. She answered calls, made appointments, managed the books & did whatever was necessary for the day to day operation. She did that from 1974 until her husband’s death, in 2015. Flo continued to carry on many of her family traditions and loved being surrounded by her family for any occasion. Her legacy is her family and she demonstrated her love in many ways.
She is the devoted wife of the late James E. Dixon, Sr of 58 years. Loving mother of Karen M. Dyer & husband Garry, James E. Dixon, Jr. & wife Elizabeth, all of Revere & Scott E. Dixon & wife Judith of Lynn. Cherished Nana of Nicole M. Corrao of Revere, Michael K. Corrao & wife Kristen of Elliot, ME, Melissa A. Vitas & husband Lucas of Windham, NH, Christopher J. Dixon, Katherine E. Dixon, both of Revere, Scott E. Dixon, Jr. & wife Chantale of Stoneham & Allison A. Dixon of Lynn. Adored great nana of Zoe, Lillianna & Ella. Dear sister of Robert Clifford & his late wife Lucy of Mansfield, John “Jack” Clifford & his wife Lucille of Winthrop, Edmund Clifford, Jr. of North Andover. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews.

William R. “Bill” Minichello

His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, September 17th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. and Winthrop Ave.), REVERE at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett is private. To remind all attendees to the funeral home & the church, due to the ongoing pandemic all mandates issued the Comm. Of MA & the Archdiocese of Boston must be followed; Masks must be worn & social distancing maintained.
Bill was born in Revere and lived in East Boston until moving to Swampscott in 2012. He was an alumnus of Sacred Heart High School in East Boston, Class of 1967. He attended Emerson College during his freshman year and then transferred to the University of MA, graduating in 1971. He entered the work force with Blue Cross Blue Shield in 1968, achieving the position of Medicare Manager. He would then, in 1992, change careers and enter the employ of U.S. Customs, first serving as an inspector and retiring as an Auditor in 2008. For many years, both he and his late wife, “Fran” were active members of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078 & both were Past Exalted Rulers of that lodge, creating a whole network of close relationships. Bill also served with the Mass State Elks Association as an organist. Both Bill & Fran were also Past District Deputy Life Members. Their work & energy spent within the Elks Foundations, is both immense and outstanding.
Bill is the cherished father of Boston Police Sergeant Andrew J. Minichello and wife, Maria, and the adoring “Nonno” to Matthew Daniel Minichello, all of East Boston. He is the dear brother to Edward T. Minichello and his late wife, Valerie A. (LeBlanc) of Winthrop. He is the special uncle of Ronald Moore of Revere and Stephanie Lane and her husband, Michael of Winthrop. He is also proudly and lovingly survived by Fran’s family (The Hickey and Crotty Clan) and his extended family at Winthrop Elks and U.S. Customs.

David B. Dedrick, Jr.
Funeral Services & interment were held privately for David B. Dedrick, Jr. who died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 3rd at Boston Medical Center.
Born and raised early on in Charlestown, the family came to live in Revere in 1962. David was educated within the Revere School System and St. Dominic Savio High School of Orient Heights, East Boston. He was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1968. For the majority of David’s working career, he was a Heavy Equipment Truck Driver for several of New England’s Trucking firms. David was a faithful & loving “Family Man” and thoroughly enjoyed the company and camaraderie with his children and grandchildren.
He is the beloved husband of 39 years to Catherine A. (Pearl) Dedrick & the cherished father to Katie A. Dedrick & her companion Jeffrey Gaston, Matthew D. Dedrick & his wife Molly & Alex M. & Brian D. Dedrick, all of Revere. He is the dear brother of Helen V. Molbeck & Daniel F. Dedrick, both of East Boston, Donna M. Nam of California, Mary G. Dedrick & her companion Rocky Pellucci of Revere & the late Annmarie Corcoran. David is also lovingly survived by his 2 grandchildren, Christena E. Dedrick & Chase Gaston, both of Revere & several caring nieces & nephews. He was also the devoted son of the late David B. Dedrick, Sr. & the late Helen (Sullivan) Dedrick.

Camille R. Sacco
Family & friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, September 3rd, beginning at 9:00 a.m. through 11:15 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE for Camille R. Sacco, who passed following a long illness & struggle with the complications of metastatic brain cancer on Sunday, August 30th at her beloved Revere residence. A brief Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home, following the visitation, at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Graveside Service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) with interment to follow. In accordance with the ongoing pandemic protocol, Masks must be worn at all times & social distancing observed.
Born & raised in East Boston on December 6, 1936, she attended East Boston schools & was an alumna of East Boston High School, Class of 1954. In 1970, she moved to Saugus before coming to Revere, fifty years ago. After high school, she began a career with Boston Mutual Insurance Co. of Boston as clerk-stenographer for about 15 years. She worked most briefly with her late husband, Peter J. Sacco, Jr. as a bookbinder at the former “Seaboard Bindery” of Boston. Soon, she began her family & became a stay-at-home Mom, taking care of Peter, her two children & later in her life her grandson “TJ” (Anthony J. Godino, Jr.). Strong faith & love of family were the hallmarks of her life. However, her goodness & outstanding humanity, did not confine her passion for humanity at that point. She was a genuine “Fred Rogers neighbor and friend”, always extending a helping hand to those who suddenly found themselves in the need of assistance of any kind. Not only did Camille thrive on the excitement of the holidays, she had her own repertoire of traditional observances. At Halloween, not only would the children receive their goodies, the accompanying parents would be the recipient of their own “Lollipop”. Christmas was “full-throttle” ahead & all the neighbors would receive candy canes personally delivered to their homes. She took great pride in maintaining her home with decorations for all seasons.
Camille was the beloved wife of the late Peter J. Sacco, Jr. who passed on August 23, 1999. She is the cherished mother to Peter Sacco, Advertising Sales Rep for the Revere Journal & Independent Newspaper Group & Stephanie J. Sacco-Godino & her husband Anthony J. “Tony” of Revere & the devoted grandmother to Anthony J. “TJ” Godino, Jr. of Revere. She is the dear sister to Violet Vernacchio of Florida, Edmund J. Vargus, Jr. & his wife Arlene of New Hampshire & the late Dorothy Merriman. She was the adoring daughter to the late Edmund J. Vargus, Sr. & Rose J. (Volpini) Vargus. She was also the surrogate Mom to her late canine companion, “Bandit” & her late morning dove, “Birdy”.
In conclusion, soon after Peter’s passing, Camille came across these words of inspiration. “Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.” -Norman Cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:00 a.m. & immediately followed with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section), Winthrop. Born in Boston, he spent about 30 years in Winthrop, then moving to Boston. He was a 1981 alumnus of Winthrop High School. Early in his working career, he worked in the jewelry business, taught to him by his cherished maternal grandfather, Ernest Gravallese. At the time of his passing, he was working at Haymarket in Boston with several of the vendors there.
He is the devoted son of the late Thomas J. Mastrangelo & Erma (Gravellese) Mastrangelo. Dear brother to Janice L. Baker of Canton & John T. Mastrangelo of Foxboro. Beloved nephew to Joanne M. Fuller & her husband, Brad of Reading, Marie Recchia & her late husband, Richard A. of Winthrop & the late Caroline T. “Carole” Burge & her surviving husband, George Burge of Danvers. He is also lovingly survived by his niece, Lydia M. Baker of Canton.

Bryant L. Varney
Funeral Services were held privately for Bryant L. Varney, who died on Saturday, August 8th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, following a long illness with Interstitial Lung Disease, he was 69 years old, 1 month shy of his 70th birthday.
Bryant was born in Jonesport, Maine, he was raised & educated there and was an alumnus of Jonesboro High School, Class of 1969. Bryant enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard immediately after high school, during the Vietnam War and spent the next 4 years traveling the shores of the United States & the globe. During his time in the Coast Guard, he was a Fireman, and was aboard “Ice Breaker” Ships. This brought him to parts of Alaska & Antarctica. He was honorably discharged from his service earning the Good Conduct Award, National Defense Medal & Antarctic Service Medal. On August 13th, 1971, while in the service, Bryant married the love of his life, Elaine M. Moore. Bryant returned home to his wife and the couple remained in Revere. For most of his working career, Bryant worked at Segal’s Salvage Yard in Revere. Bryant performed various tasks from mechanical, salvaging auto parts & delivering auto parts, until they closed. He worked briefly at another auto salvage yard in Lynn before taking a position at Walgreens in Lynn, where he worked until his untimely death. Bryant was a good man, who was dedicated to his wife & was a man of integrity. He was a true friend and would always lend anyone a helping hand. He enjoyed fishing, hunting & going to camp with his father.
He is the loving & devoted husband of 49 years to Elaine M. (Moore) Varney of Revere. Beloved son of the late Edwin J. Varney & Betty L. (Lowe) Varney. Dear brother of Caron Kilton & husband Richard of Whitneyville, Maine, Kimberly Rendell of Maine, Esther Tozier & husband David of Crawford, Maine & the late Gail Johnson & her surviving husband Earl Johnson of Maine. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews.

James R. Bruce

Bruce, who died unexpectedly on Friday August 7th at Boston’s Mass General Hospital, he was 83 years. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery (Cross St. Section), Winthrop. Born on July 13, 1937 in Chelsea, he lived in Revere his early years until marrying and moving to Winthrop in 1962. He attended Revere schools was a member of the Class of 1955 of Revere High School and in October of 1955, he joined the Marines during the Korean Conflict and served until October of 1958. He was a 25-year member of the Massachusetts State Police acquiring the rank of Sergeant. He retired in 1992. He was a member of the Retired Association of Metropolitan Police and also a member of the Winthrop Elks. In 1974, he became the proprietor and operation of Bill Ash’s Lounge on Revere Beach until the time of his death.
He is the beloved husband of the late Carol M. (Pumphret) Bruce. Cherished father of Sgt. James R. Bruce, Jr. of the MA State Police & his wife Kathleen Marley-Bruce of Lynnfield, Christine M. Bruce, Robert A. Bruce & Jennifer E. Bruce-Capone & her husband Gary, all of Winthrop. Adoring grandfather to Carol A. Bruce of Winthrop, James R. Bruce, III & John E. “Jack” Bruce, both of Lynnfield & Francesca N. Capone & Hannah C. Capone, both of Winthrop. Devoted brother of Eleanor “Sissy” Kelley & her late husband Robert N. Pat was born on February 25th, 1953 to his loving parents, Patsy & Phyllis Tata. He was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1970 and remained a lifelong Revere resident until moving to the Admiral’s Hill section of Chelsea about 2 years ago. Early in life, Pat had a passion for automobiles. He loved all types of cars; luxury cars, sports cars, classic cars & standard cars. He owned & operated his own Automotive dealership for many years. Pat had the privilege of having a large family, that was loving & close. He always enjoyed being surrounded by the love they shared & countless fun times together.
He is beloved son of the late Ret. Revere Firefighter Patsy W. Tata & Phyllis A. (Siciliano) Tata. Loving brother of John R. Tata & his companion Nancy of Chelsea, Debra J. Tata, Mark A. Tata & wife Kelly, Lisa M. Tata – Amato , Gina M. Viarella & husband Christopher, all of Revere, Maria V. Stuart & her husband Michael of Danvers & the late Peter W. Tata. Jim was native born Southie resident. He was educated in Boston public Schools and remained in South Boston most of his life. Jim worked as a switchman for the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad for over 10 years. He later took a position as a Security Officer until his health declined & he was forced to retire. Jim moved to the Admiral’s Hill section of Chelsea, where he remained for the past 21 years. Jim was known to many as having a wonderful personality & disposition. He was kind to everyone he met & made friends quickly. Jim loved playing Bingo & spending time at the casinos. His great passion was sports, he loved them all. Football, baseball, basketball & hockey, he was a true Boston sports fan, watching every game win or lose.
He is beloved son of the late James Maguire & Ruth (Elliott) Maguire. Loving & dear brother of Ruth F. Maguire of Revere, formerly of South Boston & the late Ret. USMC Master Sergeant Richard Maguire. He is also lovingly survived many friends & extended family.

Ada was a native of Orsogna, Italy. When she was a young woman, she came to the United States and settled in Revere in 1952. She was married the following year to Philip D’Angelo. They remained in Revere where they raised their family together. Ada was a proud & loving mother & wife. She took great pride in everything she did. She was an exceptionally talented seamstress. She worked for Neiman Marcus in the couture department, working on all of the high-end women’s fashions. Her work was creative and very sought after. Ada’s reputation led to creating many wedding gowns for family & friends and would lead to other designers asking for her professional help. She was passionate about her craft, which led her to create customized draperies for many homes. Aside from her love of working in fashion, she loved working in the garden. She would spend hours in the yard tending to her many plants, that would later become numerous delicious creations for her family to enjoy. Her cooking was legendary, she was always generous with making some of her specialties for others. Above all, her family was always where her heart was and with whom she wanted to be surrounded by.
She is the devoted wife of 53 years to the late Philip D’Angelo. Loving mother of Nicholas D’Angelo & wife Jayne of Revere, Philip D. D’Angelo & his late wife Jeanne of Grey, ME & Emma L. D’Angelo of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Jillian Coletti & husband Anthony of Newton, Nicholas A. D’Angelo & wife Kathleen of Revere, Jordan D’Angelo of Kingston, Zack D’Angelo & Tyler D’Angelo both of Revere. Adored great grandmother of Julianna, Nico, Olivia Ada, Caroline & Nicholas, Jr. Dear sister of the late Alceo Tenaglia & Aldo Tenaglia.
