A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, February 26th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church (Revere) at 10 a.m. Born in Italy, she came to the United States of America as a young girl with her family, settling in East Boston. Mrs. Tollo lived in Revere for the past 38 years & lived in East Boston for many years. Her working career was spent as a stitcher in Boston’s Garment District. Mrs. Tollo was the “Hallmark” Mom, Grandmother, Sister & Aunt. Family was indeed her priority. She & her late husband, Joseph Tollo, who passed away February of 1999, were long-time devotees of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Revere. She is the devoted mother of Arleen C. Puccia & her husband Philip of Andover, and Joanne DiGregorio & her husband Eugene of Melrose. She was the dear sister of the late: Olga Conklin, Rose C. Sistis, Amadeo & Domenic Vega. She is the cherished grandmother of Philip Puccia, III & his wife Dorothy of Andover, Joseph D. Puccia of Boston, Jessica L. Hudson & her husband Ross of Chicago, IL, Roger M. DiGregorio & his wife Eden of Wellington, FL, Tamara L. Josti & her husband Timothy of East Brookfield, and Dean Jeffrey DiGregorio & his wife Tonya of Methuen. She is also lovingly survived by her 10 great grandchildren: Alexandra, Lillian & Madeline Puccia, Cody, Logan & Tyler Josti, Brock & Gia DiGregorio, Siana, Quillen & Tessa Rose Hudson and several nieces & nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Generoso M. “Gene” Alfano
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, February 23rd, 2014 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Generoso M. “Gene” Alfano, who died at 93 years old in Woodbriar Nursing Center of Wilmington, on February 20th after a long illness. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, February 24th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church (Revere) at 10 a.m. Gene was born in Boston’s North End before his family moved to East Boston. As a young boy, he attended Sacred Heart Grammar School. He was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1938. After graduation, Gene had worked for a couple of years before joining the United States Army. He served his country proudly during World War II, receiving the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon & Victory Medal. Gene came home from his service and began to focus on his education. He enrolled at Boston College and is an alumnus of the 1949 graduating class, with a degree in Accounting. He also went on to earn a degree at Northeastern University. In 1952, he married Theresa (DiMinico), whom he met at a dance hall on Revere Beach. The couple resided in Revere and it was there where they raised their three children. Gene was a Certified Public Accountant and worked for the Small Business Administrations Boston’s Office for 32 years. He was the Assistant Director, & he was cited numerous times by Congressmen, Senators, & Governors for his valuable and diligent work on many of the major economic development projects throughout New England. One of Gene’s proudest accomplishments was the role he played during the recovery period of the Blizzard of 1978, assisting Revere and many other North Shore communities. What Gene will best be remembered for is the everlasting love he had for his family and all the joy they shared together, as well as the treasured friendship he had for decades. He is the beloved husband of the late Theresa R. (DiMinico) Alfano of whom he shared 52 years of marriage. He is the loving father of Linda A. Johnson & her husband Robert A. of Lynnfield, Attny. Anthony V. Alfano & his wife Margaret of Boca Raton, FL, and Janice M. Chouinard & her husband Roger L. of Wakefield. He is the cherished grandfather of Elizabeth M. Hurton & her husband Ryan of No. Reading, Caroline M., Christine M. & James Alfano all of Boca Raton, FL, Jacqueline T. Chouinard of Wakefield and the late Meredith Johnson. He is the proud great-grandfather of Lillian Hurton. He is the loving brother of Mario Alfano of Winchester and Ida Young of Kansas City, MO, and the late: Jennie Alfano, Domenic & Vincent Alfano. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. George V. Palladino, Jr.

Palladino, Jr. who died on Wednesday, February 19th at the Rehabilitation & Nursing Center of Everett, following a long illness. George was born & raised in Revere. He attended Revere schools and was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1956. After graduation, George pursued a trade and became a Machinist. He began to work for G.E. and would later to go on to work at Gaulin Inc. of Everett. In 1958, he would marry his high school sweetheart, Roseanne Foster. The couple settled in Revere and began their family. George became the proud & loving father of 5 daughters. It was poor health that forced George to an early retirement. He is the devoted husband of Roseanne (Foster) Palladino of Everett, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. He is the loving father of: Lynn Palladino of Florida, Debra Fileccia & her husband Nicholas of Malden, Sandra Parziale & her husband Robert of Florida, Cheryl Holland & her husband Robert of Wakefield & Tina Palladino of Everett. He is the cherished grandfather of: Frank Gioia, Nicholas Fileccia, Robert & Christine Parziale, Cade Robert & Coby George Holland. He is the proud great-grandfather of: Angelina & Danielle. Freitas, who died on February 16th in his Revere Home, unexpectedly. William “Billy” was born & raised in Revere. He was educated from the Immaculate Conception School, graduating from there in 1964. Several years after graduation, Billy joined the United States Army and went off to serve his country proudly. When he returned home from his service, he began to work as a Bartender at Suffolk Downs Race Track. He worked there for over 20 years and made many friendships through the years. He is the beloved son of: the late James D. & Catherine E. (O’Connor) Freitas. He is the loving brother of: Carol A. Nardone and Mary A. McMahon & her husband James A. all of Revere. Family & friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, February 20th from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Guy Cappello, Jr. who died at the Lahey Medical Center in Peabody on February 14th at 92 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, February 21st at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church (Revere) at 11 a.m… Mr. Cappello was born in Boston’s North End. He was raised and educated in Everett and attended Everett Schools. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 to help defend his country at the height of World War II. When he returned home from his duty of service, he went to work for his father in his barbershop in Everett. It was there where he learned his trade and then later mastered his craft. He eventually took over the family business and would go on to open several other Men’s Hair Stylist Shops in Everett, Saugus & Peabody. Guy had a great reputation and had a very successful business. In 1952 he would marry the love of his life, Mary A. (Cicatelli); the couple would begin their family, having one daughter, Pamela, his other love. They settled in Lynnfield and raised their daughter. Guy was a past member of the Knights of Columbus & The Sons of Italy. He was the loving husband of the late Mary A. (Cicatelli) of whom he shared 56 years of marriage with. He is the loving & cherished father of: Pamela A. Cappello & her companion Andrew Fee of Danvers. He is the brother of the late; Rosaria “Sally” Gulla, Rose Mackay, Ann D’Ortona & John Cappello.He is the beloved brother in law of Louis “Lingo” Cicatelli & his wife Joanne of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces & nephews. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Lynnfield.

and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (route 107) Revere for Richard A. “Dick” Smith who died after a long illness at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, February 20th at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere at 11 a.m.. Dick was born and raised in Revere, he was an alumnus of Revere High “Class of 1956. In 1965, He would marry his love, Kathleen A. DeRosa, the couple remained in Revere and began their family. In 1973, he began a 30 year career with the Suffolk County Sherriff’s Department, he would rise to the rank of Deputy Lieutenant. His main assignments were the Charles Street Jail & Nasshua Street Jail in Boston. During his tenure there, he would often take neighborhood kids through for a tour and to show them why it was important to stay out of trouble. Dick loved his family and was very active with them, attending school functions and extracurricular events. Dick threw his hat in the political ring , he ran for Revere City Councilor, ward 3. He served his community proudly from 1981 – 1985. While he was involved with his position as Revere City Councilor, he became a member of many of the local fraternal organizations such as; St. Anthony’s Holy Name Society, The Revere Lodge of Moose #1272, The VFW Joseph I Mottola Post, The Soccorso Club, The Patriot Civic Club and several others. It is known by many that Dick was a huge “Montreal Canadiens” fan. He is the devoted husband of Kathleen A. “Kathy” (DeRosa) Smith of Revere of whom he shared 48 years of marriage. He is the cherished father of: Wanda A. Smith & her companion Dennis Anemoduris of Revere and Wedndy A. Smith – McGonagle & her husband Neil of Rowley, MA. He is the loving grandfather of Emma, Grace & Jake McGonagle. He is the brother of: Edward Smith & his wife Edna of FL, Donald Smith, Dorothy Jannino both of Revere, Janet Parker & her husband John of Chelsea and the Late Frank “Sonny” & William “Billy” Smith. The couple left Revere and resided in Reading for over 40 years, although she was fond of Reading , had a wonderful, loving family to remind her where her roots were. She is the devoted wife of William A. Fulchino whom she shared 65 years of marriage with. She is the cherished sister of the late: Her twin, Eda M. Robert G. Murphy
Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, February 24th, at 12 Noon in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Robert G. Murphy, who died on February 12th at the E. N. Rodgers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA following a long illness at 70 years old. “Bob” was born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston Public Schools. He is an alumnus of the Class of 1962. He attended several of the area colleges before entering in to the United States Navy in June of 1965. He entered the Navy to serve his country proudly during the Vietnam Conflict. He entered the Officers Candidate Program and learned to fly Jets.He separated from the Navy in 1968 and earned the rank of Lieu tent.He married Marion Fisher. They lived in Revere. Bob, continued to further his education, taking more colleges classes to further his knowledge. He went on to pursue a career in Real Estate and worked as a top salesman for several of the top brokerages. Bob often found time to give back and would volunteer at his church and community. Bob had suffered some health related problems approximately 12 years ago, which led him to become a resident at the E. N. Rogers Memorial Hospital. There he made friends instantly and was fondly know too many of the staff and residents as “Murph”. He is the devoted husband of Marion (Fisher) Murphy of whom he shared 35 years of marriage. He is the loving father of: Lorraine Cane of CA., Linda Giustina of Revere & her partner Debbie Bickoff of Woburn, Louise Lange & her fiancé Joseph Dempsey of Revere and the late Chad F.Burns and his wife Susan of Revere. He is the cherished grandfather of: Monica, Gabriel, Alex, Tiffany & Brycen and 5 great grandchildren. Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.
