Mirsad Hodzic
Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, November 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE for Mirsad Hodzic, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 17th at the North Shore Medical Center- Salem Hospital, following a brief illness, he was 56 years old. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home at 11:15 a.m., followed with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
Mirsad was born in Doboj, Bosnia and he was raised & educated in Modrica, Bosnia. Mirsad was a highly educated man and was an incredibly mechanically inclined. He could fix anything. He came to live in the United States in April of 1999 along with his wife, Mirjana & their two sons, Anel & Elvis. They settled in Lynn, where they made their home as well as many friends. Mirsad worked at Herb Chambers Mercedes as a Master Auto Mechanic. He became certified in every aspect of his trade. There wasn’t a thing he didn’t know how to diagnose or fix. He took extreme pride with his work and was always courteous to customers & fellow employee’s. His heart was with his family, he was a loving husband & very proud father. He was always telling people about his family & about any of their accomplishments.
He is the devoted husband of Mirjana (Rados) Hodzic of 35 years of marriage, the loving & proud father of Anel Hodzic & Elvis Hodzic all of Lynn. The beloved son of Izeta Hodzic of Bosnia & the late Esad Hodzic. The dear brother of Emina Hodzic of Bosnia & the late Esmedin Hodzic. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces & nephews as well as many friends & extended family.

Robert F. “Bobby” Dever
Funeral Services were held privately for Robert F. “Bobby” Dever, who passed away unexpectedly on November 13th. He was 62 years of age.
Born and raised in East Boston, he was the son of the late Robert J. & Mary A. “Maureen” (McManus) Dever. Bobby attended local schools and his family came to live in Revere in 1985, where he remained until his passing, He worked for many years as a laborer involved in many construction projects throughout the area.
He is the father of Robert & Michael Cresta. Brother of Christine E. Harmon & her husband Tommy of Woburn & Cathleen P. Dever & her longtime companion Robert DeFronzo of Saugus. Uncle of Jennifer N. Melville R.N. & husband Joseph of Westwood & Derek M. Harmon of Woburn & great-uncle of Aria, Ava & Logan. He is also survived by many extended family members.

Timothy F. O’Leary

Timothy was born, raised & educated in Malden & attended Sacred Heart School in Malden. “Tim” passed on Saturday, November 13th at Boston’s Massachusetts General following a year long battle with multiple myeloma. Early in life, he began his own entrepreneurship, Boston Sportsman, in all things, related to hockey, baseball, football, etc. He was the proud owner of several pushcarts, strategically placed at the Boston Garden – North Station, Haymarket & the Aquarium Station at the waterfront. Tim worked long and hard for the welfare and care of his family. His family was paramount to his heart & soul, always working for them, solely. Perhaps, his intense work ethic was his joy in what he did and how he did it, beginning at age 13 owning several pushcarts. Peddler, hawker, or salesman, he was indeed the best.
He is survived by his dedicated and devoted wife and soulmate of 19 years, Taylar F. (Anastas) O’Leary, his cherished son, Timothy J. O’Leary, Jr. & his adored daughter, Arianna J. O’Leary, all of Revere. He is the proud son to Kevin O’ Leary of Salem, NH & his late Mom, Margaret (O’Halloran) O’Leary. He is the dear brother to Kelley O’Leary of Malden, Noreen O’Leary of Somerville, Kevin O’Leary of Malden, Meghan O’Leary of Milford, MA & Caitlin Duckett & her husband Aaron of Salem, NH. Lovingly and tenderly survived by his in-laws, Debra Terenzio of Revere & William Anastas of Revere. Tim was a member of the Minute Man Dart League.

Francis D. “Frank” Cronin
Funeral Services and internment were held privately at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett for Francis D. Cronin, who died at his home in Bradford, MA, surrounded by loving family on Saturday, November 13th following a lengthy illness.
Frank was born and raised in Revere. Following graduation from Revere High school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his honorable discharge, Frank worked as a machinist for over 40 years. During this time he lived with his devoted wife Marilyn J Kirsch of 36 years. Frank and Marilyn enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and their beloved dog Harry. Frank was a passionate and devoted Boston sports fan.
Dear brother of Diane Accettullo of Malden, the late Sonny Haseman, Robert Haseman, Barbara J Maida and Ann Patricia Cronin. Frank was the loving father of Kelly E. Knight and husband Scott of Newburyport, MA, son Kevin P. Cronin and wife Jaye of Fort Collins, CO, and the late Colleen P. Cronin of South Boston, MA. Frank adored his niece Lori Ann Maida of Lynn, MA. Cherished grandfather of Benjamin Knight of Bradford, MA Justin and Julia Knight of Newburyport, MA, Haley and Jillian Cronin of Fort Collins, CO and the honorary grandfather of Abby Maida of Lynn, MA. Frank was a caring and loving husband, father, grampy, and uncle who will be dearly missed by many.

Richard J. Trefrey
Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Friday, November 19th beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the First Congregational Church of Revere, 230 Beach St, REVERE, for Richard J. Trefrey, who passed on Sunday, November 7th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, following a long illness. He was 81 years of age. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the church at 11:00 a.m., and interment will be private.
Born in Boston, he was the son of William E. Trefrey & Jessie “Jay” (Stewart) Canty. He was a graduate of Billerica High School and graduated in 1958. He soon entered the workforce and began a career with the Bank of New England. He enjoyed a dedicated career with Bank of New England as a computer programmer with over 30 years of service and he retired in 1990. Richard lived in several areas, before settling in Revere, where he has been a resident for many years. Richard was devoted to his wife, Carol, and although the couple had no children, they devoted their time and affection to their family and extended family. Carol passed away on April 24, 2019, and a piece of Richard’s heart went with her. Richard was a talented artist and a devoted parishioner and volunteer at the First Congregational Church of Revere, a place where he enjoyed the friendship of all members of the faith community.
He is the loving husband of the late Carol A. Perullo-Trefrey. He is the devoted brother of Laurel Ehrlich & her husband Dr. David Ehrlich of Edmonds, Washington and the brother-in-law of Louis C. Perullo, Jr. & his wife, Chantal of Leon France & Ferma J. Perullo-Kipnes & her husband Barry of Scottsdale, Arizona. Cherished uncle to Wendy Perullo-Diozzi & her husband Peter & their children, Anthony & Nicholas, all of Scottsdale, Arizona. He is also lovingly survived by many cousins and friends.

John P. DePaulo, Jr.
Family & friends are invited to gather in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE on Friday, November 19th at 10:00 a.m., with the family of John P. DePaulo, Jr. who died on Friday, November 5th at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness, he was 68 years old. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. followed with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
John was born in Boston to his parents John P. DePaulo, Sr. & Violet A. (Arinello) DePaulo. He was raised in Chelsea and was a proud alumnus of Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1970. He continued to further his education, something that he valued and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. John worked for Mass Health for 10 years as a Patient Care Advocate. Prior, John worked at the Vinfen Corporation of Cambridge as a Respite Counselor to the developmentally disabled members of the community and their families. He canvassed & petitioned for consumer & environmental issues. John was also a successful fund raiser for several medical care associations & various non–profit groups. He was passionate about social issues in which he believed. He was an avid communicant at St. Columbkille Parish in Brighton, where he made his home for the past 20 years. John was a huge Boston Sports fan, the Celtics, Patriots & especially the Red Sox. The family members always knew that they would receive a phone call after the game, with his commentary about a play, or call. He made friends very easily because of the type of person he was, He loved his family, unequivocally. John was always sending out cards to his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, or grand nephew’s, birthday’s, holidays, or special events or celebrations in their lives. His thoughtful ways is what made him so special to everyone.
He is the loving brother of Donna M. Metcalf & husband Neil of Kingston, Richard J. DePaulo & wife Anna of San Francisco, CA, Stephen J. DePaulo & wife Sue Yen of Marblehead, Diane F. Crowley & husband William of Rockland, Denise R. Lynch & husband Michael of Atkinson, NH & Maria A. DiCenso & husband Domenic of Winthrop. He is the cherished & proud uncle of 13 nieces & nephews and 15 grandnieces & grandnephews. He is also lovingly survived by many friends & parishioners & neighbors at St. Columbkille Parish.

Jeannette E. (Blais) Vesce

(Blais) Vesce, who died in her home in the presence of her loving family, following a brief illness. She was 100 years old. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home following the visitation at 11:15 a.m., followed with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Jeannette was a lifelong Revere native. She was born in Revere on April 19, 1921, to John B. Blais & Marie (Belanger) Blais and she was one of four children. She was educated in Revere Schools and grew up on Dunn Road. Jeannette was known for her swimming; she would be seen swimming along the entire length of Revere Beach & her love for swimming continued throughout most of her life. Jeannette also enjoyed roller skating & ice skating. She was also a very talented seamstress. She married Antonio S. Vesce, and they remained in Revere where they raised their six children. Jeannette was a “True Matriarch” of her family and was the essence of mother. She led by examples throughout her lifetime. She only wanted the very best for her children and grandchildren as well as others around her.
She is the beloved wife of the late Antonio S. Vesce. Loving mother of Janice M. Mingolla & husband Ret. Revere Police Patrolman Angelo “Andy” of Revere, Donna M. Stahl of Revere, Stephen A. Vesce & his late wife Joanne of Revere, Joseph M. Vesce & wife Robyn of Chelsea, Denise J. Sellaro & husband Frank of Medford & Former Revere City Councilor Brian P. Vesce of Revere. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren & adored great grandmother of 4 great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Robert M.J. Blais, Gerard Blais, & Lucille Cambriello. Andrew J. “Andy” Procopio, Jr.

A Funeral Mass will be in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 12:00 pm., followed with entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery – Versailles Mausoleum, Everett.
Andy was a lifelong resident of Revere. He attended Revere Schools and was an Alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1948. Andy was an excellent student academically as well as athletically. He thrived in baseball and was drafted as a shortstop by the Philadelphia Phillies organization and played in the minor leagues in Georgia. While Andy was in Atlanta playing baseball, he was drafted by the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict. He served his country from 1951 until 1953, when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. When Andy returned home, he pursued to further his education at Boston College. Where earned a bachelor’s degree in 1957. Andy met and married his wife, Marie A. Sarno, in 1960 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere. The couple remained in Revere where they began their family. Andy worked for The Italian Liner as an Agent, a luxury cruise ship liner, that traveled the across the Atlantic to various ports along the coast of Italy. Andy was forced to leave his position there due to the Fuel crisis in the 1970’s. He began selling insurance for several years before taking the Director’s Position at the Revere Housing Authority in 1978. He worked for the City of Revere until retiring in 2006. Andy was a huge fan of the New York Yankee’s, mainly because of “The Yankee Clipper” Joe DiMaggio. Andy and his wife Marie both shared the love & appreciation of the legendary Luciano Pavarotti. Andy & Marie would make a point to see him live in concert whenever he was preforming. Also, whenever you went into their home Andy would prefer to have that playing in the background. Andy was also a devout parishioner and member of the Holy Name Society at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Andy was a man dedicated to his family and hid demeanor & unwavering demonstration of love was shown every day.
He is the beloved husband of 61 years to Marie A. (Sarno) Procopio of Revere. Loving father of Diane M. DiBlasi of Clinton, & David A. Procopio & wife Kathleen Bright – Procopio of Saugus. Cherished grandfather of Kristen DiBlasi & her husband Dr. Andrew Becker of Charlestown & Washington, DC. & Ashley E. Aloupis of Saugus. Dear brother of Gloria Torre of Revere, & the late Mavoureen “Marvie” Procopio, Pauline Terranova, Jean Angeloni, Mary Alvino, Domenic Procopio, Albert Procopio, Anthony Procopio, John Procopio, & Joseph Procopio. Paul J. Ferraro

Paul was a lifelong Revere Resident. He was raised in Revere and as a young boy he was a Boy Scout and rose to become a Star Scout. Paul was educated in Revere Schools and then went onto become an alumnus of Northeast Regional Vocational High School, Class of 1999. Paul was a very artistic & talented young man. He enrolled in The Institute of Arts & Communication and earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. He worked diligently as a graphic designer at John Wiley & Sons Publishing in Medford for over 2 years. His creativity was boundless. Paul always gave back to the community by volunteering his time & talents helping the Boys Club, Blessed Mother of the Morning Star Parish – St. Mary’s Church in Revere with their new logo, and with many other companies. He was also a very well-known Boston D.J. in several nightclubs. Paul was also a huge fan of trains. He would enjoy riding on all types of trains and appreciating the design & mechanics. One thing is certain, Paul was a very thoughtful & loving person. He was a friend to so many people and would do anything for those who needed him. His memory will forever be etched in so many people’s hearts.
He is the loving son of Kathleen A. “Kathy” (Ewing) Cid & her husband Manuel G. “Manny” of Revere and Steven P. Ferraro & wife Marie L. of Whitman. Cherished brother of Michelle E. “Shelly” Rankins & her husband Daniel J. of Manchester, NH & survived by his 4 stepsisters. Adored uncle of Elianna M. & Mason D. who was his world, and several other nieces & nephews. Treasured companion of Izabela A. Malinowska of Boston. Beloved nephew of Jeanne E. Conte & husband Richard of Revere, David B. Ewing of Revere & John T. Ewing & companion Michele Winslow of Lynn. He is also lovingly survived by many cousins & friends.

Alfred “Al” Pantano, Jr.

A funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Saturday, November 6th at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) Revere at 12:30 p.m., immediately followed with entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery – Versailles Mausoleum, Everett.
Al was born in Everett & raised in Somerville until the age of 6, when the family moved to Chelsea. He was educated in Chelsea Public Schools and was an alumnus of Chelsea High School, Class of 1960. As a young man in high school, Al worked at Stop & Shop, it was there he met his future wife, Donna DiGianni. Al went on to serve his country during the Vietnam Conflict by enlisting in the United States Airforce. He returned home after he was honorably discharged and began to further his education by attending Northeastern University and he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. On July 9, 1967, Al married Donna and the couple remained in Chelsea, where they began their family together. They later moved to Saugus in 1978. Al began his working career at Bellotti Oldsmobile, then making a move to Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. & later Provident Life Insurance Co. In 1980, he went on his own and became an independent financial adviser. A business that he built with his excellent reputation and superior knowledge. He loved doing what he did, and it showed. People looked upon Al to make important financial decisions that would help them forecast their future in retirement. Al was an avid golfer and played as often as he possibly could. He enjoyed traveling with his family, especially on cruises. He was the Past President of the Saugus Rotary and he belonged to the Corvette Club & Hot Rod Club. He was a devoted husband, father & papa, through & through.
He is the devoted husband of 54 years to Donna N. (DiGianni) Pantano of Saugus. Loving father of David A. Pantano of Saugus & Denise P. Colbert & husband Thomas of Peabody. Proud Papa of Jenna K. English of Portsmouth, NH, Sydney E. Colbert & Ryan E.T. Colbert, both of Peabody. Dedicated son of the late Alfred Pantano, Sr. & Emily (Varricchio) Pantano. Dear brother of Arthur Pantano & wife Carol of Revere & Richard Pantano & wife Nancy of Chelsea. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.
