Matthew K. Smith
Matthew Kyle Smith, 30, passed away in his Manchester, New Hampshire, home on Friday, February 12, 2016. Born August 10, 1985, in Garden City, Georgia, Matt is survived by his husband, John Arico, who provided Matt with love and support during his overwhelming battle with cancer, until Matt’s final moments. Matt will be grieved deeply by his husband, his parents, Robert and Linda Smith of Savannah, GA, his sister Casey (Smith) Shuman and brother-in-law Justin Shuman, his niece and nephew, Leighton Shuman and Silas Shuman, all of Pooler, GA, his in-laws, Ruth and John Reynolds of Londonderry, NH and Edward Arico of Bonita Springs, FL, his aunt and uncle Glenda and Billy Herrin of Guyton, GA, his aunt Brenda Shahal, of Guyton, GA, and he is also lovingly survived by many cousins and friends.
Matt loved returning to Savannah to spend time with family, particularly, with his niece and nephew whom he cherished, as well as to see the blooming azaleas. Matt graduated from Groves High School in Garden City, Georgia in 2003 and then came to Boston, attending Emerson College, where he earned his degree in film studies in 2008. A talented artist, Matt will not only be remembered for his drawings and paintings, but also for his talented writing and his love for photography. In Boston, he developed a passion for travel and transit and was proud to be a railroad conductor on the Commuter Rail (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority). His coworkers, passengers, friends, and family will all miss Matt for his sense of humor. He had the gift of connecting with people, and made friends across the country through his unparalleled wit and undying love for movies and pop culture. A Memorial Gathering will be held in Garden City, Georgia on Friday, March 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Fairhaven Funeral Home & Crematory, 2794 Highway 80 W, Garden City, GA 31408 . A memorial service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.

Born & raised in Revere, she lived here, her entire life of 100 years. Mrs. Perrotta celebrated her one hundred years, with a large reception and party, attended my family, extended family and many of Revere’s finest political personages of the day, at Lighthouse Nursing Care Center, where she made her home for the past three years. Rose was a strong personality, and enjoyed her time at the ALMY’s DEPARTMENT STORE AT NORTHGATE Shopping Center as a salesperson in the in the HomeGoods Department, for several years, before retirement.
Her beloved husband, Frank Perrotta, passed on March 5,1982. She is the devoted mother of, Nicholas F. Perrotta & Robert M. Perrotta both of Revere & Mary A. Bacigalupo & her husband, Walter L. of Naples, Maine, formerly of Revere. She is also lovingly survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. She was the dear sister of the late, Charles & Joseph Sarcia “Helen Manuele, Domenica Rastellini and Olga Dusevitch.

Ann was born & raised in Everett & was an alumna of the Cheverus Catholic High School, Class of 1950. The mother of seven children, they were members of the Immaculate Conception Parish Community, sending all of her children there for their education. Ann was active in many of the fundraising activities and functions, for the development of the new convent in the early sixties. She was the proud Past President of the Immaculata Guild of the Parish from 1980–1981. Ann worked for over 25 years, with the medical records department at Whidden Memorial Hospital, establishing & maintaining many treasured friendships. She was the essence of busy. However, she would want to be remembered as the “quintessential” Grandmother, always happy to be with and do for her grandchildren. Her beloved husband of 62 years, James J. Boule Jr. passed on March 12, 2015.
She is the devoted mother of James J. Boyle, III and his wife, Maureen D. of Saugus, Mary E. Boyle of Everett, Ann P. Janowski & her husband, John S. of Peabody, Kathy T, McCarthy & her husband, Ed of Littleton, John J. Boyle & his late wife Jennifer of Hooksett, NH., Matthew J. Boyle & his wife Michelle of Boxford & Elizabeth A. Liberatore & her husband, Robert of Bradford. She is also lovingly survived by her 15 adoring Grandchildren, & many nieces & nephews. Born & raised in Bremerhaven, Germany, she came to reside in Revere in 1970. She worked for many years as a Nurse’s aide at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, establishing many treasured friendships. Magda met her late husband, Laurence J. Hanlon in Germany, during the Korean Conflict. They remained in Germany for several years, giving birth to their first son, Harold before settling in the USA. Her husband died suddenly in May of 1984.
She is the devoted mother of Harold H. Hanlon of Maine, Donald L. Hanlon of Revere & the
late, Ronald S. Hanlon who passed May 31, 2002. She is the cherished sister to Herma Bulkowski & her husband, Benno of Berlin, Germany & the late Otto Steffens. She is also the dear aunt of, Frank Bulkowski & Britta Metzig and Michael Steffens, all of Germany. At age 70, Magda, began a new working career, as a hair stylist, working until she was in her late seventies.

Vozella & his wife Ann of Chelsea & Salem, NH. Loving daughter of the late Patricia C. (Regan) Vozella-Mikkelsen. Devoted sister to Anthony F. “Sonny” Vozella & wife Nancy of Saugus, Susan M. Goss & husband Robert of Everett. Also lovingly survived by her grandson, Paul W. Greene III & many nieces, nephews & cousins. Linda was also predeceased by her late grandmother Theresa E. (Coviello) Vozella & her late grandfather Anthony F. Vozella.
Linda was a 1975 graduate of Chelsea High School. She worked for Colonial Marble Co. of Everett for many years & for the past 15 years worked for Dunkin Donuts on the Everett Parkway.

Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Friday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m, in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), REVERE, for Araceley (Rojas) Markarian, who died on Monday, February 15th at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett, following a brief illness.
Born & raised in Colombia, she came to the USA, about 15 years ago, settling in Revere. Her late husband, Pierre Markarian passed in March of 2009. While living here, she worked as a hospital worker many years at the Union Hospital in Lynn.
She is the beloved sister of Norma Herrera of Washington, D.C., Graciella Rojas of Colombia & a niece, Nora of Colombia. She is also loving survived by many friends in the Revere area, who took excellent care of Aracely for many years. Following the memorial mass, entombment will be be held at the Columbarium in Woodlawn Cemetery, Chapel Building in Everett.

Raised in East Boston, she was an alumna of Fitton High School, E. Boston,Class of 1958. She moved to Revere in 1960 & remained here. She would have, a 32 year career with N.E. Tel. & Tel. (primarily in the mail room), retiring in 1990. She was a long-time member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Devoted to her late Mother, she attended to her until her dying day.
She was the beloved wife of the late, John J. Goggin & George T. Foster. She is the devoted & cherished sister to, John J. O’Leary, Jr.& his wife Dorothy of Revere. She was the dear daughter to John J. O’Leary, Sr.& Jessie (McGreal) O’Leary. She is lovingly survived by extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins & former co-workers, from N.E. Tel & Tel. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born in Chelsea, he spent all of his life in Revere. After graduating Revere High School in 1967, Bill traveled the country, always returning to Revere. He spent most of his working career in the construction field.
He is the cherished son of Lillian F. (Oreto) Byrne-Hibbard & her husband, Hugh Hibbard of Revere. He was also the son of the late William E. Byrne,Sr. He is the dear brother of Sandra A. “Sandy” Marino & her husband, John J. Marino of Saugus & Daniel P. Hibbard of Revere. He is also survived by his son, William Ginepra & his grandson William Ginepra, Jr. of Revere. Born & raised in Chelsea, she attended Chelsea schools & was a 1948 graduate of Chelsea High School. “Dot” as she was affectionately known, worked as a salesperson for the former Stuart’s Discount Store of Malden before moving onto Host-Marriott at Terminal D, Logan Airport. She worked for over 20 years (twenty) as a bartender, retiring at age 75 years, making many friendships over her long tenure of employment. “Dot” was a long-time supporter and member of the Immaculate Conception Parish Community.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred A. Zarni-aka-Zani. She is the devoted mother of, Bernadette H. Moore, James A. Zarni & his wife, Paula G. all of Revere, John A. Zarni & his wife, Elizabeth of Chelsea & the late, Richard N. & Robert F. Zarni. She is the cherished Grandmother of, Eric S.R. Moore of Royal Palm Beach, FL., Jessica A. Arthur T. Alexander
Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, February 12th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. through 10:00 a.m. in the Vertuccio for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE, for Arthur T. Alexander who died on Wednesday, January 27th at Chestnut Woods Nursing Center of Saugus following a lengthy illness. The Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m., followed by interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
Born in Boston’s South End, the family moved to Revere in 1919, settling on Carleton St., Revere. Mr. Alexander would live his entire life in the same home on Carleton St. Most of his working career was as a bus driver and for over forty years, he and his late wife, Ruth F. (Barber) would own and operate their own school bus company, Revere Bus Company. Ruth passed on July 23, 2015 at 91 years, after 72 years of marriage. Arthur served for four years with the U.S. AIR FORCE as a Private 1st class, entering in January of 1942 until March of 1946. He served with the 1377th AAF in India-Burma. The couple were an inspiration to many and especially within the neighborhood, with their extraordinary devotion to each other & their strong work ethic. It is a comfort to the family, that on this Valentine’s Day, on Sunday, February 14th, Arthur & Ruth will be “TOGETHER FOREVER”.
Arthur is the devoted father of Arthur T. Alexander, Jr. & his wife Cynthia Ruffin of Hampton Falls, N.H., Tracey B. Keefe & her husband, Edmund M. Keefe, III of Tehachapi, Calif. & the late Susan L. Ricciardi. He is the cherished grandfather of Heather Widfeldt & her husband, Randy of Gloucester, Ma., Matthew Alexander & his wife, Koryn of Middleton, Ashley Parks & her husband, Daniel of Lynnfield, Thomas A. Keefe & Daniel M. Keefe, both of Tehachapi, Calif. He is also lovingly survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
