Marion E. (Duffy) DeAngelis

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home For Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107), Revere, for Marion E. (Duffy) DeAngelis, who died on Saturday, February 11th, following a brief illness at Massachusetts General Hospital.  The Funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16th at 10 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere at 11 a.m.  Born in Boston, she lived all of her life in Revere & was an alumna of Immaculate Conception High School, Class of 1944.  For many years she worked as a bookkeeper for Brewer Petroleum.  She was a member of the Choir at Immaculate Conception Parish for many years & a long-time member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Revere.  Her late husband, Louis A., died in May of 1981.  She is the Devoted mother of, Reverend Mark J. DeAngelis of St. Bridget Parish, Framingham & Ronald L. DeAngelis of Revere.  She is the dear Sister of Agnes Duffy of Malden & the late: John & Thomas Duffy.  She is also lovingly survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Duffy of Hopkington & many nieces & nephews.  She is the daughter of the late: Michael F. & Susan J. (Keane) Duffy.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the: Restoration Fund at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 250 Revere St., Revere, MA 02151.

Valentina M. (DeSouza) Malta

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Monday, February 13th at 10 a.m., in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere for Valentina M. (DeSouza) Malta who died on Thursday February 9th, 2012 at her home, following a long illness. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, MA.  Valentina was born and raised in Long Island, NY. She came to Revere as a young child  to live and settled in Revere.  She attended  Revere schools and completed her education in Hairstyling & Cosmetology. For many years she owned and operated “Salon de Val” from her Conant Street home.  She was a member of the “Ladies Auxiliary” of the Joseph Mottolo VFW Post of Revere.  She is the widow of the late Joseph Malta.  She is the beloved Mother of  Dolores M. Balliro & her husband Bruno of Revere.  Sara McGuirk of Haverhill, MA & the late Jodi Ann Marino and the late Vincent Malta.  She is the devoted Grandmother of Dolores V. Marino, Joseph D. Balliro & Joesph R. Marino and his wife Danielle all of Revere. She is the loving Great Grandmother of Giano Marino & Cathryn Quinn.  She is the dear Sister of Dolores Pires of Revere.  Louis  DeSouza of Saugus & the late Mary Costa.  She is also the dear Aunt to Denise D. Parton & her husband Randy of Orlando, FL,  Steven A. & Joseph C. Pires, III all of Revere.  she is also the Grand Aunt to Mark P. Parton & his wife Randi, of Oceanside, CA and Angela R. Parton of Orlando, FL.

Peter R. Kaha, Jr.

Services will be held in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, February 11th, 2012.  A former resident of Revere & Malden, Peter R. Kaha, Jr. died on Monday, February 6th at a Portland, OR Nursing Facility following a long illness.  Born & raised in Boston’s South End, Mr. Kaha lived in Revere & Malden before heading out to Portland, OR over 50 years ago.  Most of his working career was as a mechanic for several area rubber manufacturers.  He was the husband of the late, Dolores Kaha.  He is the Devoted Father of, Matthew, Auriana, Peter & Mary Kaha, all of Portland, OR & the late Michael Kaha.  He is also the Dear Brother of, Aloha Winchester of Pittsfield, MA & Wilma T. Stevens of Revere.  He also leaves several grandchildren & several nieces & nephews.  Interment will be in Portland, OR.  He was the Son of the late, Peter R. Kaha, Sr. & Wilma L. (Jimerson) Kaha.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a HOSPICE of your choice.  Local Arrangements were in the care of the Vertuccio & Smith Home For Funerals in Revere.

(Fasoli) DeBenedictis, who died unexpectedly, Sunday evening, February 5th at Massachusetts General Hospital.  A funeral will be conducted on Thursday, February 9th at 10am, from the Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service in the New Hope Assembly of God, 9 Assembly Dr., Saugus, MA 01906 at 11am.

Louise was born & raised in Boston’s North End, she attended school there before moving to East Boston and then moving to Revere, over 45 years ago.  Mrs. DeBenedictis worked as a Homemaker, privately for several years.  She was also a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America for several years, which met at at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall in Revere.  She is the beloved wife of 63 years to Leonard V. “Leo” DeBenedictis. She is the Cherished Mother of Steven L. DeBenedictis of Jackson, NH & his partner, Suzanne Huntoon of Bartlett, NH, Leonard T. DeBenedictis & his wife Candace of Groveland, MA and Paul J. DeBenedictis & his wife Christina of Byfield, MA.  She is the Devoted Grandmother of Amy Mansmann & her Husband Michael of East Burke, VT, Benjamain DeBenedictis of Burlington, VT,  Samuel DeBenedictis of Groveland, MA , Emily & Carly DeBenedictis both of Byfield, MA . She is also lovingly survived by her faithful Feline Companion, “HONEY” & many nieces & nephews. Interment will be PRIVATE. Hannelore H.M. Laura (Trieb) Buckholtz

In Revere formerly of Karlsruhe, Germany, January 26th,2012 in her 84th year, following a long illness. Beloved wife of the late: Adolphus M. “Bucky” Buckholtz.  Lovingly survived by Robert E. Ginsburg & his wife wife, Susan M. Conley &  Family and Marijane Natalie all of Revere. Laura was a GI War Bride, arriving in the in the USA in 1956 & Settling in Revere. She worked for the Revere Democratic Committee & was a poll worker for many years. Although, she & her husband never bore children, they had an extraordinary affection for all children, especially specially challenged children. They will be remembered for their extravagant “Trick or Treats” at Halloween for all the children of the neighborhood & for their outdoor holiday decorations that the children & the entire neighborhood enjoyed.

At 88 years, Long time employee of VNA & Life Long Revere resident. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday January 27th, 2012, from 4 – 8 pm in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (rte107), Revere for Eleanor A. “Ella” (Siciliano) Marino, who died following a brief illness at the Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett on Monday January 23rd. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, January 28th, 2012 at 9am, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am. For over 35 years, “Ella” worked for the Visiting Nurses Association as Nurse’s Aide, caring for people in their homes. She retired at age 75. “Ella” lived here in Revere all of her lifetime and was a devotee of St. Anthony’s Parish. She leaves her beloved husband of almost 62 years, John J. Marino. She is the devoted mother of John J. Marino III and his wife, Sandra of Saugus and Michele Harter and her husband, Tracey of Long Beach, California. She is the Cherished grandmother of Jasmine G. Fiandaca and her husband, Keith of Saugus and the late, Christopher J. Considine. She is the dear sister of, Phyllis A Tata and her husband, former Revere City Councillor Pasquale “Pat” Tata of Revere and the late, Louis “Geno” Siciliano. She is also lovingly survived by her great-granddaughter, Sofia Fiandaca and many nieces, nephews, grand-neices and grand-nephes.
