Jeannette C. (Chiampa) Hosker

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 31st from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio and Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere for Jeannette C. (Chiampa) Hosker, who died on Sunday, May 27th at the Lighthouse Nursing Care center following a long illness. She was 91 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, June 1st at 10:00 a.m.., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere. Interment will be Private.

Jeannette was born and raised in East Boston and she is an alumnus of East Boston High School, Class of 1944. After graduation, Jennette began a 12-year career as a Sales Clerk at Filene’s in downtown Boston. She left Filene’s in 1961. Most of her early years were lived in East Boston. She moved to Exeter, New Hampshire in 1976, remaining there until December 1980, when she moved to Revere & lived here until her passing. A classic example of the ancient adage; “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” was Jeannette’s proverb to live by. Anyone knowing her or having had the honor of being a guest at her home, certainly can attest to her spotless and meticulous care that she gave her home. And in her regard to her “Godliness”… she was a woman of faith & grace. Most proud to be a practicing Roman Catholic, she thoroughly enjoyed her faithful association with her child-parish, St. Mary-Star of the Sea Church of East Boston & then, in later years, her membership at the St. Anthony of Padua Community Parish of Revere. However, first & foremost, Jeannette was a “Family Woman” & nothing gave her more joy than the company of her family & extended family. As she became somewhat in need of assistance, her genuine sense of humor & depth of her personality came to light.

She is the devoted wife of the late Richard W. Hosker. Loving mother of Warren A. Hosker & his fiancé Susan C. Hagen of Beverly & Wendianne Ferullo & her husband William R., Jr. of Peabody. Cherished grandmother of Christopher R. “C.J.” Alimonti & Aj’a C. Alimonti, both of Peabody. She was also the proud & devoted daughter of the late Anthony & Marion (Russo) Chiampa. Dear sister of the late Roger R. Chiampa & Roseanne M. Stringi. She is also lovingly survived by Sharon L. Salvucci & family of Danvers and by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews and loving cousins.
