Born, raised & educated in East Boston, he was an alumnus of East Boston High School, Class of 1957. Because of his extraordinary athleticism & academic achievement, he was awarded an early graduation in 1957, rather than 1958. As Captain & Quarterback of the E.B. football team, he earned the nickname, “Tom the Bomb”, a title that he maintained the rest of his life. For over ten years, in the 1970s & 1980s, Tom worked as a “Youth Counsellor for the “Project Yes” & more recently as a sales associate at White Hen Pantry. Tom is a member of the Cary Sq. Club of Chelsea & the Bartolo Club of East Boston.
He is the beloved father to Thomas E. DeFreitas, Jr. of Arlington. He is the cherished brother to Retired Revere Patrolman, Harold Clark “Clarkie” DeFreitas of Revere, Robert DeFreitas of Rhode Island & William DeFreitas of Medford & the late John DeFreitas. Affectionately remembered by his first wife, Marylou “Lulu” (Corkum) DeFreitas of Arlington. Devoted friend in recent years to Mary Walsh Durant of Peabody. He is the dear uncle to many nieces & nephews. Tom is the esteemed & trusted friend of Evelyn P. Morris of Revere. The family acknowledge with gratefulness, the extraordinary care rendered to Tom by the caregivers at Rosewood Rehab of Peabody, Staff of Care Dimensions Hospice & the clinicians at Salem Hospital.

Edward L. Crane was born on September 23, 1940 and was the son of Joseph A. and Mary E. (Wallace) Crane. He graduated from B.C. High and attended Boston College. After serving in the United States Air Force as a Medical and Surgical Technician, Ed spent most of his career in the hospitality industry; including the Magic Pan and Bostonian Hotel in Boston, the Charles Hotel in Cambridge and the Chanticleer Inn on Nantucket, where he loved meeting and learning about people from around the world. His love of people and the arts also extended to his work at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and as an instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studios. He enjoyed travel, spending time with family, especially at the beach in Kennebunk, Maine, and with his many friends at BK’s and Bill Ash’s in Revere.
He is survived by his beloved sister Sheila A. (Crane) Sweeney, whom he adored, his niece Kathleen Sweeney of Chelmsford, and nephews Joseph Sweeney of North Andover, Timothy Sweeney of Boston, Connor Murphy of Boston and Reilly Murphy of Chelmsford. Ed will be lovingly remembered as a sponge of knowledge about the world around him and a gentle, kind and compassionate soul who deeply loved his family and friends.

“Mike” was born, raised & educated in Revere and was a 1961 alumnus of Revere High School. For over 35 years (thirty-five years), Mike worked within the Appliance Division of Sears & Roebuck Inc., as a General Appliance Foreman, specializing in diagnostics and hands-on-repairs, often saving the customer hundreds of dollars by always going above & beyond with the search of a long ago manufactured part. Many of his customers, would become life-long friends. Mike, after retirement from Sears, returned to the workforce at Delta Airlines as a baggage clerk, for about 4 years. He served with the U.S. Air Force, from October of 1961 through October of 1967, during the Vietnam War, as an Airman 1st Class.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Janet (Cutillo) Stuppia. He is the cherished father of Debra Laquidara & her husband, John of Billerica, Kimberly M. Torra & her husband, Stephen of Reading, Michael J. Stuppia, Jr. & his wife, Shauna of Saugus & the late Tami M. Stewart. He is the dear brother to Lena Stasio “Lee” of Revere & the late Maryann Amaral. He is the adored grandfather to Katie Laquidara & Kristen Laquidara, both of Billerica, Shannon Stewart of Beverly, Jared & Brett Torra, both of Reading & Jake & Esme Stuppia, both of Saugus. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews.

She is the wife of the late Pasquale A. “Pat” Vacca who passed in January of 2002. She is the cherished mother & best friend to Susan M. Vacca & her husband, Harry G. Born & raised in Mirabella-Eclano, Italy, she & her family came to the U.S.A. when “Gina” was a young woman. The family settled in East Boston, where she met & married, John F. “Jack” Scalcione 53 years ago. Very early in her working career, she was a master seamstress. Later, she would delve into the world of social activism and helping mankind where needed most. Ever conscious of the ever encroaching “expansion of Logan Airport”, she became most interested in citizens’ rights and logistics. She was the foundress of the Gove St. Citizen’s Association of East Boston & the East Boston Citizens Against a Third Harbor Tunnel. She was a devotee of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish of E.B. & was one of the first to volunteer as a vigil watcher at the famed church for well over four years. She was passionate regarding her convictions and focused on their successful executions. She worked for the East Boston Neighborhood Medical Center within the scope of their “Elder Plan”, where she found herself immersed in helping the elderly, and that she did, above & beyond the call of her duty. In the middle 1990s, she worked as the East Boston liaison to Congressman Joe Kennedy, helping everyone who sought her assistance. She will be long-remembered for her jovial personality and firm positions she approached her work with.
She is the beloved wife of 53 years to John F. “Jack” Scalcione. She is the adored mother of Lisa M. Dreitlein & her husband, Kenneth “Kace” of Newton, Tia J. Scalcione & her wife, Barbara Boone of Wellfleet, John F. Scalcione, II of Greenville, South Carolina & Tonia Scalcione-Tassinari & her husband, Max J. Tassinari of East Boston. She is the adored grandmother of Mira, Matthew, Boone, Anna, Ella & Argus “Gus”. She is the dear sister of Angiolina Pizzicannella of East Boston, Giuseppina “Giosi” Cimildoro & her husband, Faustino of Milton, Michele LaVita of Derry, N.H. & the late Luigi LaVita. James was born in the Dorchester section of Boston on December 18th, 1944 to Joseph L. & Marie R. (Boisvert) Tremblay. He attended Boston schools and a graduate of Boston English High School, Class of 1961. For many years, he lived in the Lowell area & then to Pelham, N.H. He has been a Revere Resident for over 31 (thirty-one) years and became most active & interested in Revere Youth Hockey. Within the hockey organization, he joined the Canadian Cultural Exchange from Revere to Canada, serving as their Secretary from 1992–2011. For over 9 (nine) years, he was Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 5 & Chairman of the Boy Scouts Committee. He thoroughly immersed himself in the Revere Little League & Revere Youth Hockey (now-Everett-Revere Youth Hockey). His contributions were many & varied from serving at the Snack Stand to teaching & administering to the young men he was training. He joined the U.S. Navy during the Viet-Nam War on January 25, 1962 & served through October 26, 1964, a period in his life that he was most proud of and content to have given time to his country. During his working career, he also worked for the Lowell Sun as a typesetter. For the past ten years, he has held many positions with the Coresite Computer Industries and most recently as their Security Manager. He had a brilliant career there and worked up until his most recent illness. His cancer diagnosis came over six years (6) ago in 2012, and in spite of the continued treatments, trials and clinical procedures, he never gave up the fight.
He is the beloved husband of 28 years to Mary A. (Huxley) Tremblay. He is the cherished father to Scott E. Tremblay & his wife, Barbara of Haverhill, Danielle A. Tremblay of Texas, Todd J. Tremblay & his wife, Leanne of Allenstown, N.H., Nicole M. James & her husband, Domenic James of Indianapolis, Indiana and Joseph R. Tremblay of Revere. He is the devoted grandfather to Thomas J., Shawn M. & Joshua T. Tremblay, all of Allenstown, N.H. He is also the loving brother-in-law to Robert Huxley & his wife, Patricia of Weymouth, Helen Allen & her husband, Thomas of Duxbury, Michael Huxley & his wife, Judy of Falmouth. He is the dear uncle to Thomas, Sean, Michelle & Christopher and the grand-uncle to Thomas, Daniel, Chase & Maeve. Interment will be at the Massachusetts National VA Cemetery in Bourne on Friday, March 2nd at 2:15 p.m.

Marie was born, raised & educated in East Boston. She was an alumna of East Boston High School, Class of 1954. For many years, she was a salesperson at Logan Airport’s “Duty Free” Shop and later would be a receptionist & secretary for Fleetwood Recording of Revere. While at Fleetwood, she made many social & life-long friends lasting her life span. Living in East Boston, the family then moved, in 1967, to Revere. A devotee of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, she was an active member of several sodalities & fraternal groups in the church. She was appointed as a Eucharistic Minister for the parish and truly was proud of her function within the parish family.
She was married to the late Hilary J. McGunigle, Jr., for over forty years, until his death on December 31, 2001. She is the cherished mother to Maureen A. McGunigle of Revere, Roseann C. Terrazzano & her husband, Vincent J. of Manchester, New Hampshire & Hilary J. McGunigle of Malden. She was the devoted grandmother to Derrick V. Terrazzano of Manchester, New Hampshire & Joshua J. McGunigle of Saugus. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Wilbert C. “Bill” Longfield

He was 92 years old. Bill was born in South Boston & raised in Chicago. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. In 1946, he married Anne Rigano of East Boston and they made their home in the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish area for 59 years. In later years, Bill moved with his wife, Anne, to Cambridge to be closer to their grandchildren. After the Navy, Bill developed his career in the electrical field, having worked for many years in Norwood. He later retired from United Electric Controls of Watertown. He enjoyed his retirement days by being active in community affairs and by exercising with long walks and chats with neighborhood friends along the way. He was devoted to his passion for music and spent many hours enjoying his tunes, especially jazz and Big Band hits. Bill will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He is the beloved & devoted husband of 71 years to Anne J. (Rigano) Longfield of Cambridge. Loving father of Diane C.L. Totten & husband John of Pembroke, Cape Cod & Boston, Charles L. “Chuck” Longfield & wife Susan “Susie” Mees–Longfield of Cambridge and the late Julie Longfield of Revere. Angelina B. “Angie” Goss

B. “Angie” Goss and her new born infant son, Brodie James Goss-Feeley, who both passed unexpectedly on Thursday, February 15th at Lawrence General Hospital of Lawrence and Tufts Medical Center of Boston, respectfully. Their funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 24th in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
“Angie” was seized with a major asthmatic attack on Thursday, February 15th , while staying in Salem, New Hampshire, caring for her elderly grandfather, Anthony S. Vozella. She was rushed to Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence & doctors were able to deliver her pregnancy, a son, who was immediately transferred to Tufts Medical Center of Boston. The infant, named Brodie James Goss-Feeley, died at Tufts at 4:13 p.m. on Thursday, February 15th. “Angie” was born in Heidelberg, Germany, while her parents were serving in the military. Recently, for over a year, she has been serving as her grandfather’s caregiver. Most of her life was spent in Everett, where she was a 2005 alumna of Everett High School.
She is the cherished daughter of Robert A. & Susan M. (Vozella) Goss of Everett and the adoring mother to Nathan R. Goss-Ventullo of Everett. She is the devoted sister of Robert A. Goss Jr. & his fiancée, Caroline Linder & Lance M. Goss, all of Everett. She is also lovingly survived by her fiancée, Francis M. Feeley of Everett. She is survived by her grandfather, Anthony S. Vozella, Sr. & his wife, Ann of Salem, NH & she was the granddaughter to the late Patricia C. Mikkelsen. Many aunts, uncles, cousins also survive her as well as two nephews, C.J. & Matthew & a niece, Mia. Brodie is the cherished son of Francis M. Feeley of Everett.

Terry was born and raised in Medford and she is an alumna of Medford High School, Class of 1947. On September 12, 1954, Terry married Pasquale “Pat” Conte and the couple settled in Revere where they began their life together and raised their children. Terry, for many years, worked alongside her husband Pat, where they owned and operated Malden St. Market in Revere. Later, Terry became a Claims Clerk at Blue Cross & Blue Shields of Massachusetts, a position she held for over 10 years. Although Terry had many jobs and was not afraid of hard work, she was dedicated to her family first. She was a loving wife, mother and nana. When she wasn’t busy with working and her family, she would crochet and she loved to read.
She is the beloved wife of 63 years to Pasquale “Pat” Conte of Revere. Loving mother of Patrick E. Conte & wife Lisa of Laguna Niguel, CA , Nancy M. Claveau & husband Paul M. of Danvers, David W. Conte & wife Janice M. of Reading & Steven J. Conte & wife Laura A. of Amesbury. Cherished nana of Alyssa R. Conte of Wakefield, Michael P. Claveau of Danvers, Alec J.
