Jennie L. Fulco

Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 18th at 10:30 a.m. for Jennie L. Fulco, in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), REVERE. Miss Fulco died on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at her Chelsea Residence following a long illness.

Born & raised in East Boston, her  family moved to Chelsea over 70 years ago. Miss Fulco spent her entire career in the garment industry (Boston’s Garment District), as a seamstress.

She was the daughter of the late Calogero & Carmella (Lazzaro) Fulco. She is the devoted sister of Josephine Vitale & her late husband Robert, Grace Navarro & her late husband Pat “Nicky” & Michael “Mike” Fulco & his wife Margaret “Peggy”, all of Chelsea & the late Domenica Medige, Lena & her late husband, Anthony “Tony” Stec, Charles Fulco & his late wife Virginia, Salvatore Fulco & Frank Fulco. She is also lovingly survived by her sisters-in-law Helen Fulco of Revere & Rosalie Fulco of Cailfornia. An extended family of cherished nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews, who loved & respected her as their second mother also survive her. Interment will be held privately.

Robert J. Haas, Jr.

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, July 10th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), REVERE, for Robert J. Haas, Jr. who died most unexpectedly while vacationing at Block Island, R.I. on Sunday July 2nd. His funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11th immediately followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. The public is advised to report directly to St. Anthony’s Church on Tuesday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m.

Former Mayor Haas was born in Melrose & raised, educated & lived his entire life in Revere. An alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1963, he was also an alumnus of Northeastern University, Class of 1974, securing his Bachelor in Business Administration in 1974 & continuing on for a Bachelor’s in Finance in 1978. Over the years, “Bob” has immersed himself into the life & heart of Revere, affiliating himself with many fraternal & social organizations & endeavors. Early in his career, he was a member of the Revere Jaycees. He was Charter President of the Revere Jaycees & was awarded “One of the Outstanding Young Men of America”. A long-time member of the Revere Rotary Club, he was awarded their Paul Harris Fellow Award, the highest commendation given by Rotary International. He was also a co-founder and organizer of the Revere Chamber of Commerce. For over 30 years, he has been a devotee of the Holy Name Society at St. Anthony’s Parish & an ardent supporter of the 100 Club of Massachusetts, Revere Chapter. Also & most recently Bob was among a group reorganizing & reinventing the Revere Council 179 of the Knights of Columbus. He was also given honorary membership in the Revere Lodge of Elks #1171, the Revere Loyal Order of the Moose #1272, the American Legion Post #61 of Revere & the Revere Boys Club. He would begin his working career at First National Shawmut Bank of Boston from 1964-1972, then onto Union Petroleum Corp. from 1972-1973 & then and still the proprietor & operator of Haas Business Forms from 1974-2017. His political career began in 1979 as Councilor-at-large & serving for 12 consecutive years. After a hiatus, he returned in 2003 as councilor at-large serving until his untimely death on July 2nd, 2017. Bob’s remarkable term as Mayor began in 1992 & ended with his fourth term in 2000.

He is the beloved husband of 50 years to Juanita M. (Brandariz) Haas and the devoted father of Jennifer M. Haas & John R. Coyne of Revere, Rachel M. Shanley of Revere & Robert J. Haas, III & his wife, Jennifer of Winthrop. He is the cherished Papa to Brayden, Luca & Noah. He is the dear brother to Sheila A. Arsenault & her husband Arthur T. of Chelsea, Judy A. Cotter & her husband, William of Gilford, N.H. & the late Edward J. Haas. He is also lovingly survived by his brother-in-law, Ramon M. Brandariz & his wife, Anna of Billerica. Bobby is also survived by an aunt & many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Gregory J. Marciello

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Sunday, July 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE for Gregory J. Marciello, who died following a lengthy illness on Friday June 30th at the Bedford Veteran Administration Hospital of Bedford. The Funeral Service will be held following the visitation on Sunday at 6:15 p.m.

Gregory was born & raised in East Boston, attended East Boston schools & was an alumnus of East Boston High School, Class of 1962. He was the proprietor & operator of “F.B.I. Alarms” of Revere for over 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, from November 8, 1966 thru November 7, 1968 with the rank of Staff Sgt. Serving with Co. C., 1st Battalion, 58th Infantry & 197th Infantry, he was the recipient of several commendations, i.e., the Purple Heart, National Defense Medal, Expert (M-60), Expert (M-16), Expert (M-14), 2- O/S Bars, The Air Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge (1st Awd), Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960. He was also a Past Quartermaster & member of the Beachmont V.F.W. Post #6712, Past Treasurer & member of the Revere Loyal Order of the Moose #1272 & The Otis Club of East Boston. Aside from his unique background & affiliations, Gregory was a place winner in the realm of “Best” Husbands, Dads, Grandpas & Uncles. He was family first & most proud of that position.

He is the beloved husband of 17 years to Donna M. (Richard) Marciello. He is the cherished father to Lisa R. Tocco of Danvers, & Kim R. Cadieux & her husband Christopher of Rowley. He is the devoted grandfather to Christopher A. Tocco, USAF (E-5), Lindsay M. Tocco, Jenna R. Tocco, all of Danvers, Ella G. & Benjamin C. Cadieux, both of Rowley. He is also the dear brother to Ronald R. Marciello & his wife Sandra of Peabody & Doreen DeAngelo of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews. Gregory’s family is overwhelmed by the extraordinary care & attention, rendered him by the entire staff at the Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans Hospital of Bedford. Words fail to truly express their gratitude & respect for each & everyone of the team, who cared for Gregory.

Francis A. “Sonny” Cascio

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, July 12th in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), Revere from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) for Francis A. ” Sonny” Cascio, who passed after a brief illness on Thursday, June 29th at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Melrose. His funeral service will be conducted following the visitation in the funeral home at 12:15 p.m.

Born in Boston, he lived in Revere most of his life, until moving to Saugus in 1969. He was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of  1964. “Sonny” began his electrician’s career with Signet Co. of Norwell & worked there until retiring in 2010. His hobbies included a long-time hook-up with “Ham-radio operating”. His air name was “KISVP”.

Sonny leaves his wife, Joan G. (Bernstein) Cascio. He is the loving son of Camille (Baldassari) of Revere & the late Frank V. Cascio. He is the devoted father of Norma M. Cushing of Burlington, VT, Linda J. McNeill & her husband James of Plymouth, Melody K. Thomson & her husband Kenneth of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, Michael C. Guarino of Saugus, Max A. Guarino & his wife Lisa of Pawtuckett, R.I., & Sean L. Guarino & his wife Samantha of Acton, MA.  He is the dear brother of Victor K. Cascio & his wife Bonnie of Atlanta,Ga., Joan C.Cascio-Feliciano of Beverly, formerly of Revere, Edward J. Cascio & his wife, Maria of Revere & the late Maryann Curtis. He is also lovingly survived by his grandchildren; Kahla, Kurtis, Steven , Colin, Becca, MacKenzie, Amanda, Vincent, Jaqueline, Emily, Danielle & many nieces & nephews. Interment will be private.

Gloria T. (Lopez) Woodland

Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, June 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m. (Noon), for Gloria T. (Lopez) Woodland, who passed on Tuesday, June 27th ending a lengthy period of failing health at the Golden Living Center – Dexter House of Malden. Following the visitation, her Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 12:15 p.m.

Born & raised in East Boston, Mrs. Woodland, was an alumna of East Boston High School, Class of 1949. Most of her working career was spent in merchandising & credit management for over 20 years, she was a Senior Credit Manager for the former Jordan Marsh Co. at Downtown Crossing. Later she would join the forces at Sak’s Fifth Avenue at the Prudential Center sharing the supervision of Credit Managing. Along her way, she became most familiar & quite helpful to a lovely, elegant, middle-age lady by the name of “Faye Dunaway”, a legend on Broadway & the arts. Gloria was her thoroughly over-the-top helpful self and rendered “Miss Dunaway” free of anxiety & created a friend for all seasons. Gloria was awarded a certificate of merit & a bonus & certainly this experience certainly gave Gloria many fine antidotes for the supper table. There were and are many more similar stories & adventures, all work related that enhanced Gloria’s “permanent record”.

Gloria was the wife of the late, Paul M. Woodland, who passed in March of 2007. She is the devoted mother of Michael W. Woodland, with whom Gloria made her home in Revere, Steven L. Woodland & his wife, Merri R. of Clementon, New Jersey & Paula J. Danilchuck-Grammier & her late husband, Joseph Grammier of Harrisonburg, Va. She was the cherished grandmother of James R. Danilchuck of Stanton, Va. & Christopher Danilchuck of Derry, N.H. She was the dear sister to the late, Esmeralda L. Fellowes & Lilia Leslie. She is also lovingly survived by her former son-in-law, Robert Danilchuck of Derry, N.H. and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews & her brother-in-law, John Leslie of Beachmont, Revere. Interment will be held privately, later at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Salvatore Santoro

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, June 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Salvatore Santoro, who passed after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 21st at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. His Funeral Service will be conducted in the Funeral Home, immediately following the visitation at 12:15 p.m.

Born & raised in Boston, the family moved to East Boston when “Sal” was a young boy. He was a 1942 alumnus of East Boston High School. He entered the U.S. Army in October of 1944 & served until February of 1946. “Sal” was often given to recounting his adventures during his service time and was most proud of his participation and in the many army buddies he maintained for years. After being discharged from the service, he attended Bentley College of Accounting, graduation in 1950. For many years, he worked for the U.S. Navy as an accountant in Boston’s North End. Later, he would enjoy another career with Banking, serving at the former Shawmut Bank & Fleet Banks. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post #61 of Revere & a proud & active member of the Rossetti Seniors, regularly attending. Sal and his family are most grateful to the entire staff at the Rossetti Seniors, for their kind and sincere attention & affection, they bestowed upon him & his family.

Sal lost his beloved & beautiful wife of 73 years, Eleanor (Reppucci) Santoro on March 5, 2012. He is the devoted father of Roberta J. Tortorici & her husband, Mario of Peabody, Janet M. DiPaolo of Revere & Richard M. Santoro & his wife, Phyllis of Novato, Cailf. He is the cherished grandfather to Susan E. Marconi & her husband, James Of Lynn, Stephanie A. Emmons of Woburn, Stacey M. DePaolo of Revere & Laura L. Tortorici of Lynn. He also lovingly survived by his great-grandchildren; James, Nicholas & Samantha. He was the dear brother to the late John T. Santoro, Vincenza Procopio & Jennie Santoro. Many nephews, nieces, grand-nieces & grand-nephews also survive him. Interment will be held privately.

Jennie E. (Santosuosso) Tippett

(Santosuosso) Tippett, who died unexpectedly at her Revere residence on Tuesday, June 20th. Her funeral will be held immediately following the visitation on Tuesday, June 28th at 11:15 a.m. in the Funeral Home and immediately followed by entombment at Holy Cross Community Mausoleum, Malden.

Mrs. Tippett was born & raised in Revere & was a 1965 alumna of Revere High School. She shared many occupations in her working career; at Gilchrist’s Department Store of Downtown Boston as a salesclerk and as a waitress at several area restaurants. She became very intrigued by the words in the Bible & joined a Bible Study Group, i.e. the “Adams Court Bible Study Group of Revere. As time led on, she enjoyed the friendships forged through this fraternity.

Jennie is the beloved daughter of the late, Alessandro & Elaine (Davies) Santosuosso. She is the devoted sister of Ronald A. Santosuosso & his late wife, Dawn B. Santosuosso of Las Vegas, Nevada & Edward A. Santosuosso & his wife, Louise of North Reading. She is the dear aunt to Olivia L. & Emma C. Santosuosso, both of North Reading. Jennie is also survived by a son, Michael W. Tippett & a granddaughter, Makayla.

Edward R. DeVito

DeVito, who died following a lengthy illness at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose on Saturday, June 3rd. Born & raised in New Jersey, he came to live in Revere in 1975, where he remained until his death. Mr. DeVito worked in the construction field specializing in masonry & eventually coming to own and operate DeVito Construction of Revere for over 20 years. Previously to Revere, Edward lived in Laconia, N.H. before coming to Revere. He is a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers- Local 25 & the J. Leon Motollo Post #4524 of Revere & the Revere Lodge of Elks #1171.

He is the beloved father of Devon E. DeVito & his fiancee, Theresa Cimmino, Samantha J. DeVito, all of Revere, Carol Jean Grochowski & John A. DeVito, both of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Tammy Ryan of Brooklyn, N.Y. He is the dear grandfather to John Anthony DeVito of Revere and eleven (11) other loving grandchildren. He was the devoted son of the late Alfonso “Frank” DeVito & Jeannie Alberta (Baker) DeVito. Interment is private.

Raymond Randall Brooks

Services will be held privately for Raymond Randall Brooks, who died on Thursday, June 15th at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital, while awaiting a liver transplant for chronic liver disease. For the past three years, Raymond has been in declining health due to his chronic disease, struggling to attain a transplant.

Born & raised in Elmira, New York, he was an alumnus of Horse Head High School, Class of 1976. He came to the Boston-North Shore Area in 1979, working for the former Piedmont, Air- North, U.S. Air & finally American Airlines at Logan Airport. He worked as a Customer Service Agent for all of his career, continuing to work until failing health curtailed his abilities one year ago. “Ron” was indeed a Renaissance man, excelling in the art of cooking and presentation, to flower arranging & horticulture. He and his proud & devoted friend of thirty years, Edward J. DeMattio, were the respected “Dads” of several canine buddies over the years. Their dogs shared their lives & their families. The couple have resided in the Lynn area for over 20 years.

Raymond was the son of the late Milton R. Brooks & Charlotte (Pease) Brooks. He is the devoted brother to Martie B. Clark of Elmira, NY., Milton R. Brooks, Jr. & his wife Wendy of Beaver Dams, NY, Kenneth S. Brooks & his wife Allison of Cypress, Texas, Daniel L. Brooks & his wife Laura of Horse Head, NY & Joanne K. Brooks of Denver, Colorado. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews and the DeMattio family of Revere & the North Shore.
