Marie M. DiMonte

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, June 17th beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home DiMonte, Mariefor Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Marie M. DiMonte, who died following a lengthy illness, on Friday, June 12th at the Resident Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Framingham. Her funeral service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Services will conclude with interment in St. Michael Cemetery in Boston’s Forest Hills section.
Born and raised in Boston, the family lived in East Boston and then moved to Revere over 65 years ago. Marie was an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1954. She attended New England Conservatory of Music, majoring in voice. Marie had a genuine love of opera and the classics. Her voice was indeed, according to family and friends, “most operatic” even in the early days of her career. A long-standing illness came upon her and prevented her from continuing her education and her hopes of an operatic career. However, in spite of her handicap, she continued to sing for her family, friends and neighbors.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Angelo DiMonde (DiMonte) and Rosaria “Rose” (Riccio) DiMonde (DiMonte). She is the dear sister of Jean Barrett of Norwood, Pasquale Dimonte of Seabrook NH, Anna Rotondo of Saugus, Gloria M. Ferullo, Lena M. Spagnolo and Rose Festa, all of Revere, Anthony Dimonte of Chelsea and the late Margaret DiMonte, George DiMonte and Antonetta Lea. She is lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Rita C. (DeNunzio) Sweeney

(DeNunzio) Sweeney, who passed away on Thursday, June 11th at her Revere residence, following a brief illness and in the presence and love of her devoted family. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, June 15th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 10:00 a.m.

 

Born and raised in Revere, Rita was an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1946. She began a career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and remained there for over 20 years. Rita was a devotee of the St. Anthony of Padua Parish community and a member of the former Anthonian Club of the parish for several years, serving on many committees. She was also a poll worker in the city for over 20 years. She was an active woman, but always, a dedicated “Mom” and wife to her family.
Rita was the beloved wife to the late John J. Sweeney, who died in April of 1993. She is the devoted mother of Ellen L. Bertino and her late husband Carmen F. of Revere, Kathleen M. Cimino-Fauci and her husband James of Everett, Shelia M. Hosmer and her husband Wallace J. Hosmer of Epping, NH and Scott J. Sweeney and his wife Stephanie of Saugus. She is the dear sister of Joan Patti and her husband Joseph of San Francisco, CA and the late Vincent DeNunzio and Ann Peterson. She is also lovingly survived by 10 grandchildren, her three great-grandsons, Jacob, Ryan and Gianni, her sister-in-law, Jean DeNunzio of Washington and many nieces and nephews. Rita was also a member of the Golden Age Club at the East Boston Social Center at Central Square, East Boston. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Robert W. Parsons

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, June 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Robert W. Parsons, who died on Sunday, June 7th at his Hull residence Parsons, Robert Wfollowing a lengthy illness. His funeral will be held in the funeral home, following the visitation at 7:15 P.M.
A Revere native, he attended Revere schools, Immaculate Conception Grammar School and was a 1950 alumnus of Revere High School. Mr. Parsons worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a stationary engineer for almost 20 years. He was forced to take an early retirement because of a work related accident. In 1965, Robert left Revere and moved to Hull.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rafaella I. “Ella” (Coppola) Parsons who passed in 1990. He is the devoted father to Donna M. Booke and her companion John M. Heckman of Hull. He is the cherished grandfather of Darrin C. Booke and his wife Elizabeth of Palmer, MA and Derek C. Booke and his fiancée Renee Marshall of Albany, NY. He is the dear brother of Walter J. Parsons and his wife Dusty of Easton, MA, Paul D. Parsons and his wife Rosemary of Hull, Joan M. Falco and her husband Salvatore of Rockland, Marilyn A. Parsons of Revere and Rita M. Nazzaro and her husband Steven J. of Peabody. He is also lovingly survived by his great-granddaughter Alexandra Violet Booke and many nieces and nephews. Interment will be held privately. Late US Air Force Korean Conflict Veteran.

Antoinetta R. “Netta” (Casella) Moschella

Born and raised in Revere, Netta was an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1946. A busy mother of three, she was an early member and volunteer for the Revere League for Special Needs. She maintained her support for the League long after the death of her son, Robert S. “Robbie” in 2004. She was a longtime volunteer, member and devotee of the Immaculate Conception Parish Community and a member of their bowling league. She was also a member of the Daughters of Italy.

Netta was, for over 50 years, one of Revere’s Avon Ladies, always accommodating and servicing her clients, personally and gratefully.

She is the beloved wife of 67 years to, Retired Revere Deputy Fire Chief, Angelo S. Moschella. She is the cherished mother of Dr. William A. Moschella, DMD and his wife Eileen of Lynn, Linda Doherty and her husband Russell E. of Revere and the late Robert S. “Robbie” Moschella. She is the devoted grandmother of William A. Moschella, Jr. of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Justin A. Moschella of Tampa, Florida, Keri-Ann Brugge and her husband Matthew, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Brian R. and Jason M. Doherty, both of Revere. She is also lovingly survived by her sister-in-law, Sarah T. Riley of Revere and many nieces and nephews. She was also the dear sister of the late Louis Casella. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Alan A. Lipson

Private services and entombment at Woodlawn Columbarium in Everett were held for Alan A. Lipson, who died following a brief illness at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home of Chelsea.

Mr. Lipson died on Thursday, June 4th. Born and raised in Boston’s Hyde Park section, the family came to live in Revere over 60 years ago. Mr. Lipson was an outstanding Photographer and worked as a Lead Salesman for Camera’s Inc. of Arlington for over 20 years and later at Ace Photographic Supply of Boston.

 
He was the son the late Louis Lipson and Sara (Bashway) Lipson. He is the beloved husband of 61 years to Carole T. (Schwade). He is the devoted father of Mark L. Lipson and his wife Carol A. of Newbury, MA, Laurie J. Lipson and her companion Thomas Hetherington of Tewksbury and Audrey G. Hudson and her husband Thomas of Saugus. He is the cherished grandfather of J’Aime Scimemi and her husband Joseph of Revere, Talia Bruzzese of Tewksbury and the late Taylor E. Richards. He was also the dear brother of the late Herbert Lipson. Remembrances may be made to The Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, Georgia 30047.

Bernard “Bernie” Christopher, Sr.

Born and raised in Chelsea, he was an alumnus of Chelsea High School, Class of 1947. He married Mary L. (Lanzo) and moved to Revere in 1965. Bernie was a teamster and worked as a truck driver for the Local 379, at P. Schaffer Paper & Fibers of Chelsea and Dorchester for over 44 years, retiring in 1991. An avid sportsman, he was especially devoted to the “old ball game”, passionate for his Red Sox and proud of his Boston heritage.
He is the beloved husband of 65 years to Mary L. (Lanzo) Christopher. He is the devoted father of Karen Lavorati of Peabody, Christina M. “Tina” McKenna and her husband Eugene G. “Gene” McKenna of Revere, Bernard Christopher, Jr. and his wife Donna of Newington, New Hampshire and Thomas P. Christopher and his wife Maribeth of Georgetown. He is the dear brother of Lawrence J. “Lonnie” Christopher and his wife Jean L. Christopher of Revere, Eileen Davis of Danvers, and the late Rita Moore, Ruth Francis, Evelyn Theodore, Henry Anderson, Christina Testa, Thomas F. Christopher, Jr. and John Christopher. He is also lovingly survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Interment is private.

Mrs. Robertson just passed 3 months & 3 days following the death of her beloved husband of 61 years, James F. “Sonny” Robertson (Feb. 5, 2015), who was a retired Revere Firefighter. Born and raised in Revere, she was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1951. All of her life she was a Revere resident, until she and her late husband left Revere to live with her devoted daughter & son-in-law, Patrica L. Cautillo & her husband Alphonse A. of Middleborough. She is the cherished grandmother of Christopher J. Cautillo of Smithfield RI & Robert J. Cautillo & his wife Sara of Franklin MA. She is also the dear sister of F. Phyllis McLaughlin & her husband Robert F. of Revere & the late Dorothy O’Hara, Helen Botta, Mary Racca & John O’Hara. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews. Born in Arlington, he lived and was educated in Revere and was a 1982 graduate of Northeast Regional Vocational High School. Matt was an accomplished machinist and worked for over 15 years for Lincoln Labs at M.I.T. in Cambridge.

He is the beloved husband of 26 years to Carla J. (Young) and the devoted father of Jessica R. Rodriguez and her husband Alberto of Winthrop and Samantha M. Pineau of Revere. He is the dear brother of Nancy A. Pineau of Revere, Suzanne Rodgers of Groton and the late Allen A. and Mark S. Pineau. He was also the son of the late Arthur A. “Pinky” Pineau and Barbara A. (Sharpe). He is also lovingly survived by his granddaughter Ava Rose Rodriguez, his maternal aunts, June Sheldon of Lynnfield and Dorothy Malcolm of Peabody, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl W. Young of Warwick, RI and Catherine R. (Giordano) Young of Nashua, NH. Many caring nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and nieces and cousins also survive him.

Born in Malden, she attended schools in Hanover and was a 1971 alumna of Hanover High School. For several years, she worked as a mutuel clerk for Wonderland Dog Racetrack.

She is the beloved wife of 39 years to James J. Anderson, Jr. and the devoted mother of Lisa A. Nutt and her husband Bill of Revere, James J. Anderson, III and his wife Doreen of Krackow, Poland, Dawn M. Lauria and her husband Vincent M. Jr. and Robert P. Anderson, all of Revere and Christopher J. Anderson and his wife Tina of Rowley. She is the dear sister of Edward Grenham of Wareham, Eric Nyman of Hanover and the late Kathy Jewers and Robert Nyman. She is also lovingly survived by her 12 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and her sister-in-law, Rhonda Nyman of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.
