Holcroft, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 1st at his Malden residence, at 60 years. A memorial funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday following the visitation, at 4:15 p.m. Interment will be private. Born in Malden, he lived most of his early life in Revere & was a 1970 alumnus of Revere High School. He also attended Bunker Hill Community College. Most of his working career was spent as a self-employed finish-carpenter. He was the Son of the late, Vincent T. & Helen E. (Silva) Holcroft. He is the devoted & cherished Brother to: Sandra A. & Elaine M. Holcroft, both of Malden, & Robert M. Holcroft of Chelsea. He is the dear uncle to Lauren C. Stephens of Revere & Michael R. Bonanno, who died on Thursday, June 13th unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, at 92 years. The Funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 18th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Mr. Bonanno suffered a fall on Wednesday, June 12th in his Revere home & was rushed to Mass General Hospital, where he passed. Born in Boston’s North End, he attended schools in Boston & entered the United States Army on Christmas Eve of 1942 & served until January of 1946. He fought in the Bismarck, Archipelago & Luzon Battles, & was the recipient of the Asiatic – Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, The Philippine Liberation Ribbon, The Good Conduct & The Victory Medals. For many years, he worked for American Chemical of South Boston, as a chemist and supervisor. He retired in 1990. His memberships include: The Revere Patriots Club, & The Holy Name Society of St. Anthony’s Parish. He is the beloved & devoted husband of 66 years to Otillia “Tillie” (Fernandez) Bonanno & the cherished father of Anthony G. Bonanno & his wife Jane (Flynn) Bonanno of Topsfield. He is the cherished Uncle & surrogate Grandfather to Diane G. Hyland & her husband Francis W. Hyland, Jr. of Revere & their daughters, Kelli Hyland of Revere & Kim Perry & her husband Vance of Marblehead. He is also lovingly survived by many other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. He is the Dear brother to the late Concetta “Connie” Avolio. He was affectionately known as “St. Anthony” to his friends & neighbors because of his selfless spirit of giving & caring. He returned home to God on June 13th, The Feast of St. Anthony, his patron. A pro burial mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church of Revere at a date & time to be announced. Interment will be in the family lot at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston. Barbara A. (Mansfield) Falino
Services were held privately for Barbara A. (Mansfield) Falino, who died following a brief illness on Friday, June 7th, 2013 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, at 76 years. Mrs. Falino was born & raised in Boston’s Dorchester section, attended school there & worked for many years as a cocktail waitress & food waitress for many of Boston’s fine restaurants in the North End & Boston’s Chinatown. She also worked for several computer agencies in data entry. She moved to Revere over 40 years ago. She is the Adored Grandmother to Jaime P. Falino & his fiance, Heather M. Coburn, of Melrose, & the Adoring Great-Grandmother to Hendrix Q. Falino of Melrose. She was the wife of the late Pasquale “Pat” Falino & the mother of the late Sheryl Lee Ann Laurinaitis. She is also lovingly survived by her son-in-law, John Laurinaitis of South Boston, her nieces, Camille & Joyce Vaccaro of Winthrop, her nephew, Joseph Celi of Winthrop, several cousins, Bunny Butterfield & family, & Richard & Dorothy Parady & family, all of Maine. Several devoted friends also survive her, Marie Fisher of Florida, Roberta Dolan, Margie Tarantella, Claire Cimino & family, all of Revere, Carmella Sarro of Saugus, & many other friends. Vincent J. Crivello
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, June 9th, 2013 from 2 – 6 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) , Revere, for Vincent J. Crivello, who died at his Revere home on Wednesday, June 5th after a lengthy illness, at 97 years. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, June 10th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere at 10:30 a.m. Born & raised in Revere, he is a 1934 alumnus of Revere High School. In school, his musical talent was also noted as a saxophone solist for the school band. He also played professionally and he continued to play the saxophone for family affairs. Most of his working career was spent as a Technical Engineer for G.E. of West Lynn, retiring in 1978. For many years, “Vinnie” was involved with his wife’s family food market, DeLuca’s Market on Beach St., Revere. The market closed in 2010, after 84 years of service to the community. There his labors were many & varied, attending to customers, acting as a delivery person, maintenance & accounting. In February of 2013, he and his wife, Theresa J. (DeLuca) Crivello, celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. Their union is legendary, almost storybook-like, in the aspects of their happiness, devotion to one another & their respect for their entire family. The couple were parishioners of the Immaculate Conception Community Parish Family, all of their lives, which was instilled in them by both families, the Crivello’s & DeLuca’s. Their generosity is marked & Vinnie was a dedicated member of the Usher team, a Eucharistic Minister & a member of the Holy Name Society. He is the cherished father of, Vincent Crivello & his wife Marie E. of Revere, Janet M. Pletcher & her husband Stephen D. of Prides Crossing, & Marilyn J. Kobus & her husband Anton H. of Manchester by the Sea, MA. He is the Adored Grandfather to: Patricia M. Bright & her husband Ronald of Melrose, Diane L. Perry & her husband Richard of Peabody, Brian T. Pletcher & his wife Kellian of Somerville, Marisa L. & Philip A. Kobus both of Manchester by the Sea. He is also lovingly survived by four Great-Grandchildren: Lindsay, Cory, Brandon, & Dillon. He was the brother of the late: Salvatore “Sully” Crivello, Anthony & Frederick Crivello, Martha Raftery, Marie Bruno, & Rita Rogers. Many faithful nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews also survive him. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Nicholas A. Melchionno, Jr.

Melchionno, Jr., who died after a year long illness in the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers on Friday, May 31st. Born in Revere, he attended Revere schools & was a 1952 alumnus of Revere High School. He entered the United States Air Force in October of 1951 & served until January of 1955 as an Airman 1st Class. He is a Veteran of Korea. He served 27 years with the Revere Police, retiring prematurely due to illness. A proud veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post #61 for many years, active in many of their club charities, as well as the charities that the Revere Police supported. He was also a long-time member of the Saugus Knights of Columbus. He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years, Phyllis M. (Giso). He is also the devoted Father of Karyn Maglione & her husband Joseph, & Lisa A. Melchionno, all of Revere. He is the Cherished Grandfather of Nicholas Maglione & Brianna R. Carney, both of Revere, & the late Joseph A. Maglione. He was also the brother of the late Richard A. Melchionno. He is also lovingly survived by his wife’s family, & many nieces & nephews. Peggy died unexpectedly at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Sunday, May 26th, at 88 years. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, May 30th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph/St. Lazarus Church, Orient Heights, East Boston, at 10 a.m. Born in Revere, she lived in the Orient Heights section of East Boston since the age of 6 & remained there until her death. She attended Catholic schools & was a 1942 alumna of Fitton Catholic High, East Boston. She entered the United States Navy in November of 1944 & served until May of 1946, as a Wave, & she is a World War II Veteran. Early in her working career, Peggy worked for New England Tel & Tel. In 1967, she began her career with the Boston Police District 1, & retired in 1987 as an administrative assistant. Peggy was the quintessence of personality. She could work with anyone, join any organization, & always win the hearts of all. Her passions were her loving family & her Catholic Faith. She was devout but never pretentious. She was born into a strong & loving Irish family. Her faith & her remarkable sense of humor carried her through life’s disappointments, tragedies, & the deaths of her husband, her dear son, & her siblings. Her patronage to St. Jude is legendary. For many years, she & her dear sister, Mary F. “Molly” Boudette, continued their devotion to St. Jude, attending the Monday AM service at Immaculate Conception Church, Revere. There & everywhere, she is remembered with strength & dignity. Peggy’s husband, Edwin M. Finn, died in February of 1994. She is the Cherished Mother of Brian C. Finn & his wife Judith, & Boston Police Department Detective Sergeant Kevin P. Finn & his wife Renee, all of Winthrop. She was also the Mother of the late James M. Finn, who died in September of 2007. She is the adored Grandmother to: Kevin P. Finn, Jr. of East Boston, Meaghan L., Janelle C., & Christopher B. Finn, all of Winthrop, & Caitlin M. Finn of Revere.
