Marie E. (Ragucci) Perry

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, August 16th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) Revere for Marie E. (Ragucci) Perry, who passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love & peace of her family, following a long illness, she was 81 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary the Annunciation Church, 46 Myrtle St., Melrose at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.

Marie was born on December 12, 1940, in Everett to her parents, Antonio J. & Mary Assunta (D’Ambrosio) Ragucci. She was one of six girls. She was raised & educated in Everett and was an alumna of Everett Vocational High School, Class of 1958. While a student in high school, it was there that she met & fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Henry Perry. The couple would later marry on June 11, 1960. Marie worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, before she and her husband would begin their own family. Marie knew the importance of family very early on and she stayed home to proudly raise her six children. The couple remained living in Everett, until moving to Melrose in 2004, where she lived until her passing. Marie was very proud of her home and how she ran her household. It was all about family, food & closeness. She embraced everything with love & kindness. She adored her grandchildren and was blessed to have two great grandchildren. She was very close with her sisters as well as her nieces and nephews. Her home was the mecca for any holiday, birthday, event or simply Sunday dinners. She was truly the matriarch of her family and the foundation as well. Her presence will be greatly missed but her memory will carry on in all of her children & grandchildren.

She is the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Henry L. Perry, Sr. The loving mother of Rosemarie Romboli & husband Edward of Malden, Susan M. Connors & husband Peter of Wilmington, Henry S. Perry & wife Eileen T. of Wakefield, Anthony S. Perry & his husband Eric Adelman of Stoneham, George W. Perry & wife Brenda of Saugus & the late James W. Perry & wife Marion of Lawrence. The cherished Nana of Dana L. Romboli & his wife Samantha, Alex J. Perry & Dianne Perry, all of Melrose, Kathleen M. & Colleen M. Perry, both of Wakefield, Sarah N. & Nicholas J. Perry, both of Stoneham, Ryan T. & Jillian M. Perry, both of Saugus, Nathan P. & Kristen M. Connors, both of Wilmington. She is the adored Great Nana of Mason & Mila. The dear sister of Joanne Lippi & her late husband Henry of Andover, Diana Culp & her late husband Ronald of Melrose, Irma Pasquarella & her late husband Thomas of Andover, Janet Ringdahl & her husband William of Chelmsford & the late Theresa Shalsi & husband Ralph. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews & extended friends and family.

Marguerite C. (Gallo) Capone

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, August 15th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere for Marguerite “Marge” (Gallo) Capone who passed away on Friday, August 12th at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH following a brief illness, she was 93 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 16th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Marguerite was born & raised in the Jeffries Point section of East Boston. She was educated in Boston schools and was a proud alumna of Boston Girls Latin, Class of 1946. Marge was married to her husband Richard and remained in East Boston, where they began their life and family together. In 1968, they moved to Revere where Marge lived until moving to New Hampshire in 2013. Marge was a very talented & detailed Event Planner for Goldman Sachs in Boston. Marge had the control of planning all of the Corporate Events held throughout the year and loved every minute if it. Throughout her career of 22 years, she made many relationships and rubbed elbows with some of the biggest names in the financial sector. Marge was a wonderful & devoted wife and mother as well. Although she was dedicated to her career, her family always came first.

She is the beloved wife of the late Richard A. Capone. Loving & proud mother of John A. Capone & wife Colleen M. of Manchester, NH & The late Richard S. “Rick” Capone, who passed on March 30, 2022 & his surviving wife Carol J. Capone of Wilmington. Devoted daughter of the late Charles & Elizabeth (Terenzio) Gallo & the cherished sister of the Rose M. DeGruttola, John, Carmen, Frank and Ralph Gallo, and Eleanor Tavella. She is also lovingly survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews.

Sheila D. (Heighton) DeNicola

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Saturday, August 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt.107) Revere, for Sheila D. (Heighton) DeNicola, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 10th at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, she was 70 years old. Following the visitation, A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately.

Sheila was born & raised in Winthrop. She was an alumna of Winthrop High School, Class of 1968. She furthered her education by attending Newbury College where she earned an associate degree in Business. She was married to her husband, Robert DeNicola in 1970, and the couple settled in Revere where together they raised their only son, Robert, Jr. Sheila worked at Bank Boston and then she later took a position at the Revere Journal while raising her son. She would eventually take a position with the Mass Department of Transportation, and she worked there as a Business Management Specialist. Her career there spanned 25 years. In her spare time Sheila, along with her husband and son, where “Die Hard” Patriots fans and proud season ticket holders since 1993. Sheila had a profound love for her Patriots. She was also a member of a bowling and bocci league. She will be forever missed by her family & friends.

She is the devoted wife of 51 years to Robert C. “Bob” DeNicola, Sr. of Revere. Proud & loving mother of Robert C. DeNicola, Jr., of Portsmouth, NH. Beloved daughter of the late Clark I., Sr. & Lillian R. (VanBuskirk) Heighton. Dear sister of the late Clark I. “Poofy” Heighton, Jr. & his surviving wife Marylou Heighton of Winthrop. She is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

Frank J. Ruggiero, Jr.

Family & Friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, August 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt.107) Revere, for Frank J. Ruggiero, Jr. who died on Sunday, August 7th at the Hunt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Danvers, following a long illness, he was 77 years old. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 12:00 p.m., followed by interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.

Frank was born on August 1, 1945, in Everett to Frank J. Sr. & Mary “Jennie” (Lanzo) Ruggiero. He was one of three children. Frank was raised & educated in Everett. He was an alumnus of Everett High School, Class of 1963. He married the love of his life, Patricia (DeYeso) on May 25th, 1968. The couple remained in Everett where they began their life together and to raise their only child, Todd. They later moved to Haverhill, then settling in Malden over 14 years ago.  Frank was a hardworking man, who began his career at G.E. for several years, before working as an estimator for over 30 years at Fabrizo’s Custom Cabinetry. Frank also coached his son’s Pop Warner Football Teams in the 1970s and Everett Youth Hockey teams as well.  His love for his family was obvious, they are what mattered most to him. He fought valiantly over the past few years with his wife by his side.

He is the beloved husband of 54 years to Patricia A. “Pat” (DeYeso) Ruggiero of Malden. Loving & proud father of Todd Ruggiero of Charlestown. Cherished brother of Stanley Ruggiero of Everett & his former wife Terry Ruggiero of Danvers & Angela Ruggiero of Quincy. Devoted son of the late Frank J. Sr. & Mary “Jennie” (Lanzo) Ruggiero. Dear brother-in-law of Joyce Tardito & her late husband Louis of Easton & Jean R. Sasso & her husband Gerald T. “Jerry” of Peabody.  He is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and his canine pal “Buddy”.

Leonard P. Murphy

Murphy, who passed away on August 4th at Regal Health Care at Worcester, following a lengthy illness, he was 75 years old. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private.

Born in Beverly, he was the son of Daniel F. Murphy, Jr. and Ann L. (Bonaventura) Murphy. He attended Beverly schools and was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1965. His early career was spent in The Merchant Marines, working aboard civilian vessels such as oil tankers that would import and export goods to other countries. Later on, Leonard worked in property maintenance. He was very handy and enjoyed repairing things. His last job was spent as the Maintenance Manager for Cobbit Hill Real Estate. He worked until his health declined and was unable to. Leonard had a passion for Baseball and was a dedicated Boston Red Sox fan.

He is the beloved father of Robert F. Murphy and his wife Teal of Bow, New Hampshire and Christopher C. Murphy of Weare, New Hampshire. Cherished grandfather of Saige P. Murphy of Bow, New Hampshire. Dear brother of Janet Eagan & her husband Denny of Dennis, MA, Kristin McCarthy & her husband Kevin of Marblehead, Daniel Murphy and wife Judy of Del Rey Beach, FL and Maureen Garbarino (predeceased) and husband Dominic of Framingham, MA and Kevin Murphy of Boston.

Eric C. Spracklin

A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Blessed Mother of the Morning Star Parish – St. Mary of the Assumption Church for Eric C. Spracklin, who died tragically on August 3rd as a result from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 52 years old.

Born in Revere, he was the son of Norman G. & Janice A. “Jan” (Murphy) Spracklin. He attended Revere schools and was a graduate of Revere High School. Eric was a dedicated sports fan who loved the New England Patriots and was very athletic as a child. He was a member of Revere Little League for many years playing on the baseball team as a pitcher. He was a talented young man with a powerful arm and as a result he was awarded numerous trophies over the years. He was also a talented football player and when he began to attend Revere High School, he was a member of the football team during his freshman year. Following graduation, he followed his father’s footsteps and began learning the iron worker trade. He would eventually become a Journeyman Iron worker and worked for the Local #7 in South Boston. Eric had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He is the loving father of Courtney T. Spracklin of Burlington. Devoted son of Norman G. Spracklin and the late Janice A. “Jan” (Murphy) Spracklin, who passed away in November 2021. Cherished brother of Lisa A. Spracklin of Revere. Dear nephew of Elaine Westmoreland of Saugus, Marilyn Jones of Revere, Phyllis Deleidi & her husband Raymond of Saugus and the late Paul Spracklin. He is also lovingly survived by many cousins.

Margaret “Peggy” (Pedersen) Zucco

Funeral Services will be held privately for Margaret “Peggy” (Pedersen) Zucco, who died on Monday, August 1st at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston, following a brief battle with cancer, she was 79 years old.

Peggy was born in Boston and raised in East Boston. She was an alumna of St. Rose of Lima High School, Class of 1960. She was married to her husband Charles Zucco for 45 years. In 1975, they moved to Melrose, where they remained. Peggy was a loving & proud mother of her daughter Lisa & her son Peter. Peggy worked most of her working career at Walgreens in Malden and was often found in the greeting card section. Peggy was most happy enjoying her time spent with her family.

She is the beloved wife of the late Charles P. “Charlie the Barber’ Zucco. Loving mother of Lisa M. Perelli & her husband Edward J. of Melrose & Peter L. Zucco & his husband Paul J. Reardon of Chelsea & Kennebunkport, ME. Dear sister of the late Henry Pedersen, Ralph Pedersen, Bobby Pedersen, and Eleanor Ryan. Loving daughter of the late Louis & Margaret (Rizzo) Pedersen. She is also lovingly survived by her canine grandson, Winston & many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

Linda J. (Murray) Costa

(Murray) Costa, who died peacefully on Wednesday, July 27th surrounded by her loving family at her home in Lynnfield, following a long illness, she was 75 years old. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Linda was born & raised in Lynn, where she was educated in Lynn Public Schools. She was married in 1964 to her husband, Jackie Costa. The couple settled in East Boston, where they began their life together and started their family. Linda was a devoted & loving wife & mother. She proudly raised her four children and took great pride doing so. In addition, she also worked full time as a bank teller for the Telephone Workers Credit Union in both the Boston & Stoneham locations. Linda & her husband later moved to Wakefield and eventually to Lynnfield. She was happiest being at home and enjoying her family being together. She was known for her great cooking and looked forward to preparing many meals over the years for her family. She will be truly missed.

She is the beloved wife of 58 years to John J. “Jackie” Costa of Lynnfield, formerly of East Boston. Loving mother of Cynthia L. Lander & her husband Mark of Peabody, Linda J. Costa of Wakefield, David J. Costa of Lynnfield & the late Michael J. Costa. She is the cherished grandmother of Rebecca Costa of Wakefield, Christine Lander, Joseph Lander & John Lander, all of Peabody & great grandmother of Dominic. Dear sister of the late Patricia Patrazza. She is also lovingly survived by her two nephews and her faithful Boston Terrier “Molly”.

Barbara was raised in Saugus and was the daughter of Donald J. and Geraldine L. (Berthold) Hurlbert. She was educated in Saugus schools and was a graduate of Saugus High School. She worked for over 20 years as a home health aide for Intercity caring for and supporting patients in the comfort of their homes. She enjoyed spending time with her two sons and family, watching classic black and white movies and spoiling her cats.

She is the devoted mother of Jeffrey N. Farren of Revere and Christopher M. Farren and his wife Laura of Nashua, NH. She is the dear sister of Douglas G. Hurlbert of Boston, Mark B. Hurlbert of Amesbury and Pamela J. Tracia and her husband William “Billy” of Lynnfield. She is also lovingly survived by Neil J. Farren of Saugus and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
