Joseph A. D’Ambrosio, Jr.

D’Ambrosio, Jr. who died suddenly on Tuesday, June 28th, He was 61 years old. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. noon, in the funeral home.
Born & raised in Revere, Joe attended Revere schools and is a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1973. All of his life, from when he was a young boy, Joe was an “Outdoorsman”. He learned his skills from his dear late father “Joe Dumpy”, and he was in his element when he was hunting, fishing, clamming, etc. That was his passion. For over 25 years, he owned and operated his own commercial fishing business. He Captained his boat the “Andrea & the Angels”. He loved being on the water and working hard was part of his character. Joe later moved to the Berkshires, another place where he loved to spend time.
He is the beloved Son of the late Winifred (Prentice) D’Ambrosio, & the late Joseph A. “Joe Dumpy” D’Ambrosio & his wife Judith A. D’Ambrosio of Revere. Devoted father of Joseph A. D’Ambrosio, III & his wife Whitney A. of Everett, Andrea R. & Angelina M. D’Ambrosio both of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Caleb A. D’Ambrosio & Ava Cozzolino. Loving brother of Peter J. D’Ambrosio & his wife Dawn, Jay A. D’Ambrosio & his wife Lisa all of Revere, Scott M. D’Ambrosio & his fiancée Kerri Welch of Boxford and Shawn E. D’Ambrosio & his wife Elizabeth of Chelmsford. Also lovingly survived by his godson Peter D’Ambrosio, Jr. & his wife Jennifer of Lynnfield and nephews Scott & Christopher, both of Boxford. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Peabody. Late & proud member of N.R.A. & Ducks Unlimited.

(DiPierro) Rizzo, who died unexpectedly on June 21st at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, she was 87 years old. Born, raised & educated in Chiusano, San Domenico, Italy. Maria journeyed to America in 1966, accompanied by her husband & children. She and her family settled in Boston’s North End for 11 years before moving to Revere, where she remained for 39 years. She immediately began working as a seamstress for the Forecaster Clothing Company, where she worked for many years. Maria took great pride in her home as well with taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family, giving her such great happiness & pleasure.
She is devoted wife of 65 years of Raffaele G.“Ralph” Rizzo, Loving mother of Antonietta Picardi & her husband Robert & Ermelindo “Lenny” Rizzo & his wife Maria all of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Amy Salvati & her husband Joseph of Salisbury, Robert A. Picardi, Raffaele “Ralph” Rizzo & his wife Melissa, Anthony Rizzo, Johnny Rizzo all of Revere & Linda (Rizzo) Fillion & her husband David of Salem. Adored Nonna of Julia, Ava, Dylan, Ryder, Jeannette & Melinda. She was the beloved sister of 9 late siblings. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, & grand nephews.

Born & raised in San Nicola Baronia Province of Avellino. Jerry was also educated in Avellino as well. As a young man in his early Twenties, he began his journey to America. He immediately went to work in the Meat Packing District of Boston, as a Meat Cutter. Jerry settled in East Boston, where he and his wife Rosa began their life together and started their family. Jerry was of proud of his Italian Heritage, and was thankful to be in America, in which he demonstrated with his great work ethic and love for his family. He also would be found working in the garden at his home, growing a variety of fruits and vegetables.
He is beloved husband of Doan Le of East Boston & the former husband of 35 years to the late Rosa G. (Gerardi) Leone. Cherished father of Alfonso Leone & his wife Lisa of East Boston and Roseanne D’Alleva & her husband Ralph L. of Wakefield. Loving grandfather of Giana & Philip D’Alleva of Wakefield. Dear brother of 5 siblings. Also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, & grand nephews. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Community Mausoleum, Malden.

Dr. Richard L. Zizza
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday, June 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Dr. Richard L. Zizza, who passed away unexpectedly on June 7th at the Medical Center of Trinity in Florida. A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home at 2:15 p.m.
Born in Revere, he was then raised in Lynnfield and was a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers. He continued his education by attending Boston University Medical School where he graduated in 1979. Later, Dr. Zizza worked as a private practice physician serving the Revere community for many years. He left Massachusetts and continued practicing medicine in Carlsbad, New Mexico and then after in Tampa, Florida. He was an avid tennis player, enjoyed fine wine and reading in his leisure time. He will be remembered as a kind man, who treated others fairly and always strived to do what was right.
He is the devoted husband of Cathlene Heideman of Land O’ Lakes, Florida and the beloved son of Shirley (Dalelio) Zizza of Peabody and the late Louis R. Zizza. He is the dear brother of Joanne M. Zizza of North Reading, David Zizza and his wife Annegret of North Billerica and Lorraine Zizza of Dripping Springs, Texas as well as the cherished uncle of Rhiana and Jonathan Champoux, Rachel and Miriam Zizza, Zachary and Tyler Culp and McKenzie and McKayla Mellen and great uncle to Henry Louis Grady.

Private services and entombment at the Woodlawn Cemetery Columbarium in Everett were held for Carole T. Lipson, who passed away on June 1st at Boston Medical Center.
Born and raised in Revere and attended local schools. Following High School, she married Alan A. Lipson and together they raised their family in Revere. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Alan in June of 2015. Aside from being a devoted wife and mother, Carole also worked outside of the home for a number of years as a desk clerk for the Fenway Hotel Chain, which later become Howard Johnson’s.
She is the Beloved wife of the late Alan A. Lipson. Devoted mother of Mark L. Lipson and his wife Carol A. of Newbury, Laurie J. Lipson and her companion Thomas Hetherington of Tewksbury and Audrey G. Hudson and her husband Thomas of Saugus. She is the cherished grandmother of J’Aime Scimemi and her husband Joseph of Revere, Talia Bruzzese of Tewksbury and the late Taylor E. Richards. She was an expectant great-grandmother eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-granddaughter and great grandmother of the late Salvatore Alan. Dear sister of Michael S. Schwade and his wife Ana of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Funeral Services were private.

ROGERSON, who died tragically on May 31st, 10 days after his 48th birthday. A Memorial Service will be conducted in the Funeral Home at 11:15 a.m.
Born & raised in Revere’s Oak Island section, Dana attended Revere Schools. He later joined the U.S. Army National Guard to serve his country. After being honorably discharged, Dana began a career as a carpenter, working for several local contractors. He mastered his trade and was incredibly skilled. Dana relocated to Cape Cod to live with his brothers, due to his health. Revere was always his home ad where loved to be. He had a great fascination with collecting old toys & new toys. He was known as a “Kid at heart”.
He is the beloved son of the late Donald L. Rogerson, Sr. & Gwen R. (Prior) Rogerson. He is the cherished brother of Donald L. Rogerson, Jr., Dean L. Rogerson & Edwin P. “Ted” Rogerson, all of Sagamore. He is the loving uncle of Donald W. Rogerson, Peter D. Lastih, Melisa L. Rogerson & Nolan M. Rogerson, all of Sagamore. He is also lovingly survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Kenneth J. Higgins

Higgins, who passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27th with his family by his side. A Memorial Service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.
Born in Birmingham, England, he was raised there until his family relocated to the United States, settling in Medford at the age of 12. Following High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served his new country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in April of 1955. Kenneth was the owner and proprietor of the former Ken’s Bakery, which was located on Broadway in Chelsea for a number of years. He also worked at the Chelsea Soldier’s Home in the Food Service Department as a Chef and later served in other management capacities throughout the kitchen, working there for over 20 years, retiring in the early 1990s. He was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to the Boston Red Sox, and enjoyed many other sports, such as English soccer. Kenneth was a talented bowler and also enjoyed playing BINGO in his spare time.
He is the beloved companion of the late Susie Rockwood and former husband of Antonetta Higgins of Melrose. Devoted father of Annette Edwards and her husband Dean of Melrose, Susan Boyson and her husband Glenn of Saugus and Kenneth Higgins. He is the cherished grandfather of Alisha Edwards and her fiancée Sam Parsons of Melrose, Kimberly Weatherbee of Saugus and Kristen Weatherbee of Saugus and dear Brother of Miriam, Pamela, Delbert, Beverly and the late Sylvia. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, and his adored canine companion Ruby Dee. Interment will be private.

Olga Anzalone
Funeral Services and entombment were held at the Sheffield Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett for Olga Anzalone, who passed away in her home in Deltona, Florida on May 24th at 82 years of age.
Born and Norwich, Connecticut, she was raised in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. She was a longtime resident of Chelsea, raising her children in their family home on Orange St. for over 30 years. Olga was a mild mannered woman who was always known to be pleasant and kind. She was a devoted wife and mother dedicated to caring for her home and family. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her family and was an excellent baker. Olga enjoyed spending summers in Boothbay Harbor in Maine with her family for many years. Olga moved to Deltona, Florida just over 10 years ago to escape the cold weather.
She is the loving mother of Patricia Carol Anzalone of Revere, Robert Lewis Anzalone of Worcester, Dawn Marie Anzalone of Hawaii and the late Sandra Jean Anzalone and former wife of Joseph A. Anzalone. She is the cherished grandmother of Joseph, Saneena and Luka-David and dear sister of the late Water Lawrence Bright and Nina Vitiaz Lewis.

Marie was born and raised in South Boston and was an alumna of Gate of Heaven High School, Class of 1941. She moved to Revere over 70 years ago and worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Grover Manor Hospital of Revere and the former Revere Memorial Hospital (Lighthouse Nursing Center).
She is beloved wife of the late Revere Police Detective John E. “Jocko” MacLeod. Devoted mother of Jackie M. MacLeod, Marie Pendola and her late husband Tony, Diane O’Hanlon and her husband Dave, all of Wilmington, NC and CarolAnn Fleming and her husband Dany of Harrisonburg, VA. She is the cherished grandmother of Kelly O’Hanlon of Raleigh, NC, John O’Hanlon and his wife Hannah of Boulder, CO, Nicole Pendola of Winston-Salem, NC, Stacy Pendola of Nashville, TN, Kimberly Pendola of Venice, CA and Jack & Lily Fleming, both of Harrisonburg, VA. Born & raised in East Boston, she came to live in Revere over 70 years ago. “Bessie” worked as a stitcher in Boston’s Garment District & then spent several years with the former firm of O’Brien & Russell Insurance, as a clerk, retiring at age 62. “Bessie” enjoyed her family & home, most of all.
She is the wife of the late Anthony Donnarumma & the devoted mother of Rose M. MacPherson & her companion, David Tucker & John A. Donnarumma & his wife, Cheryl all of Revere. She is the cherished Grandmother of Donna M. MacPherson & her husband, Donny Higgins of Revere, John F. McPherson Jr. of Michigan, William A. MacPherson, John A. Donnarumma Jr.& his wife Annapaula, all of Revere & Taryn Crotty & her husband, Jason of Scituate. She is also lovingly survived by 7 Great-Grandchildren; Timothy, Piper, Saxton, Emma, Ashley, Tristan & Jonathan and one Great-Great-Grandson, Michael. She was also the sister to the late, Mary-Landolfi, Rose Alferi & Jenny Palumbo. Many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews, also survive her.
